Horrible rip off
If I could give it a negative, I would. Everything they say is a lie. You can not get reservations when you actually need them. The resort fees have exponentially increased, now almost $3,000 per year. This is for fewer properties since they recently closed a bunch right out of the blue. They also charge you every single time you make a reservation into the properties you supposedly own. They have closed one of the only properties we can ever get accomodations in. Now there are none in Georgia. RUN RUN and say NO loudly!
Decietful
This company employs predatory and unethical practices, trapping us in a shady contract and refusing any exit options despite continuous payments. We feel misled and defrauded. Their customer service is appalling, marked by abstinence and refusal to address our legitimate grievances or negotiate. Their model clearly profits from locking customers into unfavorable terms. Given this bad-faith experience, I strongly warn against engaging with this fundamentally untrustworthy company.
This experience left a very bad taste.
This experience left a very bad taste.
I signed up for a holiday promotional package while staying in Surfside (marketed as Myrtle Beach). On the day of the required meeting, downtown was packed due to a Christmas parade, so I walked nearly 30 minutes back to the hotel — only to learn the meeting was NOT at the hotel listed on my paperwork.
After driving to the correct location, I was told I was ineligible because my partner did not attend, and therefore I would be charged $300+. This condition was not clearly explained upfront.
This felt like a setup designed to disqualify guests and charge them anyway. Poor communication, misleading expectations, and zero flexibility.
Travelers: be cautious with any “holiday” or “free” packages. Nothing about this felt transparent.
This whole timeshare experience has been a disaster
This whole timeshare experience has been incredibly frustrating. We need to be straightforward: we are done. We absolutely do not want to stay in this timeshare and are demanding an immediate resolution to close our account.
Every time we’ve tried to work with the team, we've ended up feeling completely unsupported and angry. We spoke with Edwin from the legal team, and he was no help at all. He just keeps bouncing us around to other people, and we're making zero progress on getting this fixed.
This timeshare has turned into a huge financial struggle for us, and it’s making it hard to save for things we actually need. The expenses are just too much and add so much unnecessary stress to our lives. We truly weren't aware of all the high costs when we signed up. They never explained that we would never be able to use it or stay where we wanted. Whenever we have a chance to vacation, there has never been any openings.Unfortunately, we found that out after paying our money.
Don’t allow this company to fool you like they did us. It’s not worth it.
Do not get involved, there is no way out!
We have been trying to exit our timeshares, which have been paid in full, but they still will not let us cancel our membership. This has resulted in ongoing financial obligations and stress, despite our repeated attempts to resolve the matter. We strongly advise anyone considering Holiday Inn Club Vacations to review the exit policy carefully before signing. Transparency and flexibility are lacking.
Don’t trust holiday inn timeshare company
Thinking about getting a timeshare with Holiday Inn? Don’t do it! My experience has been nothing short of a nightmare. The maintenance fees increase every single year—a fact they conveniently fail to mention upfront. On top of that, there are endless additional fees. And if you ever reach out for assistance, don’t expect them to care. Save yourself the frustration and disappointment. It’s simply not worth the hassle.
DON’T DO IT
DON’T DO IT! The sales presentation highlighted attractive resorts and availability; however, I was not informed of the extensive blackout dates, the difficulty of booking during reasonable travel times, the lack of resorts, nor the excessive resort fees, that can be as much, if not more than booking the same resort on your own! Unless you’re willing to pay $5000 per month, this timeshare is unusable and once you sign on the dotted line, you can’t get out without paying off the entire loan.
Buyer Beware - Holiday Inn Club Vacations
Being a Holiday Inn Club Vacations owner/member has been one of the most problematic experiences that I would not recommend to anyone. High level, unprofessional sales tactics. Had to threaten to record the check-in process before we were given the key to our room on one stay. During stays it is not uncommon to receive multiple calls to attend sessions to "update" on new membership options. Always a Sales tactic to upgrade to next level. Customer Service is basically non-existent. IF you can get them on the phone, there is rarely a satisfying result. Costs for Maintenance continue to rise with no evident advantage to owner/members. Experienced rooms not available to me as a member, but available to nonmembers, by contacting that site. Long term member/owner, long term regrets.
Owners remain on hold for 2+ hours...
Promises made are never kept - total used car salesmen. On top of that, when you need assistance, may the odds be ever in your favor. We remain on hold for a representative for upwards of 2 hours as owners, but if you're calling to inquire about purchasing or interested in becoming an owner, there's a representative on the phone in less than 2 minutes.
Bad experience from the start
I deeply regret trusting their presentation, as it was nothing but empty promises, despite how appealing they made it sound initially. I now feel trapped in a membership I can't escape. They refuse to allow me to cancel, claiming my only choices are to sell or give it away. Unfortunately, the ridiculous attached fees mean no one wants it.
SCAM. Big company name, Holiday Inn but don’t let that fool you. Club Vacations is separate and a scam that hides behind IHG and Holiday Inn. SCAM.
First of all they double charged me for a future vacation package I had not reserved yet. That sounds like a scam to begin with. Tried calling to reverse the double charge, but then was told they would call me back. They never did so I called when they said they would. Finally talked to them and then they said they will speak to one of their managers and have them call me back. They never did so I called them again only to be transferred to 4 different departments saying they were not the department to speak to. One lady even said without even me being a big problem said, gahh not how I wanted to start my shift. Don’t fall into their sales tactics before or even when you’re at that timeshare discussion. It’s all a SCAM. Please don’t fall for their BS.
Holiday Inn will not help us
Holiday Inn continues to refuse to communicate with us in an effective manner. We were recently asked to speak with their compliance department. We had been complaining and reaching out to attorneys general and bureaus for years, trying to get them to come to some agreement that allowed us to end our timeshare relationship. They suspected we were receiving help from a third party. We called as they requested and were transferred around repeatedly until we finally spoke with compliance, who promptly said our case had already been reviewed without us even having a chance to speak with them! They said to wait a whole YEAR to be reviewed again. This is ridiculous. We’d like to actually speak with someone.
Holiday Inn will not help us
We have been fighting Holiday Inn for years, trying to get them to cancel our timeshare. We’ve been good, honest paying customers who just want to be finished with this. The timeshare is financially decimating us, and even more, we can’t even use it. How is it possible that this is even legal? These people are brutally taking advantage of us and still want more. Nobody we speak with there has offered an ounce of help. The company is acting out of pure greed and evil. We just want to be finished with them, and we hope they’ll give us some sort of communication with someone in management that could result in our request being fulfilled.
Still looking for help from HICV
Holiday Inn has been nothing short of a nightmare. We have been trying to come to some form of agreement with them for almost three years now, but they have never once indicated that they would be able to help us. The timeshare agreement has been a total failure to deliver on the promised premium luxury and availability. We consistently found places like Myrtle Beach unavailable, and when we did travel, the experience was substandard. In Williamsburg, the staff treatment did not meet the promised level of customer service, and in Panama City, the property conditions were terrible, including a nearly broken elevator, with all reported issues being met only with empty promises. Furthermore, despite being timeshare owners, we were charged fees every time we tried to make reservations. These fees were either nonrefundable small charges for failed bookings or larger charges that only resulted in a points refund, meaning we have never received any money back. When I finally called to cancel the timeshare, the representatives were dismissive and laughed at me. After reaching out to their management company, I was given the contact for Nicole Myers, but she has not responded to my numerous calls or emails. All we want is to speak with someone who can help us cancel this nightmare contract, which is a sham that has failed to deliver on its promises. We are not even asking for a refund; we just want to be done with Holiday and the stress they are causing our family.
Veteran absolutely Unhappy. The contractual bind is proving to be a…
The contractual bind is proving to be a significant financial burden, and the lack of cooperation with Holiday Inn , is only compounding or difficulties. Reflecting on this prolonged and unresolvable struggle, there is a prolonged sense of regret. We sincerely wish that the decision to sign this agreement had never been made , as the subsequent complications have far outweighed any perceived initial benefits. The continuous battle to seek a resolution is draining both resources and patients, Leaving us increasingly disheartened by the entire engagement.
I would not suggest anyone get involved…
I would not suggest anyone get involved with this company. I feel that the sales environment took advantage of my vulnerable state after the loss of my mother and husband. The information provided was unclear, and I was not fully aware of the long-term financial obligations, including maintenance fees, which I can no longer manage. My declining health prevents me from traveling, making the timeshare unusable. Despite my efforts, I've made no progress in getting anyone at this company to pay attention to what is going on. I urgently need assistance to exit this timeshare agreement, and no one will help. If you knew what I know, you would avoid doing any business with this company. BEWARE!
Holiday Lies…
Holiday Inn resorts have been nothing but unhelpful and useless in every attempt we’ve made to communicate with them. We’ve had this timeshare for some time now, and we’ve never felt the value of having it. Every time we called in, they’ve done nothing but spit in our face and say we owe them a bucket of money, or we’ll never get out. We’ve been paying their absurd maintenance fees regularly, and we’ve been paying on the mortgage. We don’t understand why they can’t just take the property back? Even THEY don’t want the timeshare, it seems.
I deeply regret ever attending that…
I deeply regret ever attending that membership presentation! The membership is absolutely NOT worth the cost, and to make matters worse, we can't even cancel it! Customer service is completely unresponsive to emails. We demand to close this membership/account and stop being billed for a service we cannot utilize! They make promises one how easy it is to use and to sell if you want out and that is the farthest from the truth.
I am so disappointed in this company
I am so disappointed in this company. They have trapped us into a contract and will not listen to why we need out. I regret ever signing their paperwork! I am beyond furious with this company! They have deceitfully trapped us into a contract and are completely ignoring our legitimate reasons for needing to terminate it. I vehemently regret ever signing their paperwork!
The cost just doesn’t make sense
The cost just doesn’t make sense. We’re stuck in a binding agreement, and they’re refusing to let us out of it. On top of that, the service they actually provide is nowhere near what they promised during the sales pitch. It’s frustrating and deeply disappointing to be let down like this, especially after trusting their word. We understand how disheartening this situation is—it’s not what anyone deserves.
