The worse travel plans mistake I made.
Don't waste your time with these guys. When the rep is pitching, listen closely and take notes - they'l promise you the world. But if you actually buy and book, they'll find a way to screw you over and cancel on you, especially if you call them out on their lies and demand the full benefits they promised. Listen for the total refundable amount the Rep promised to give you back on the card. Save yourself the headache and don't buy. This company needs a class-action lawsuit for false advertising. Heads up, they run your credit but never mentioned this during the pitch. Also make sure to read the following up email line by line and remember all the promises and make sure it is stated on it and even if they didn't, demand they resend the email with it.
I honestly regret ever doing business…
I honestly regret ever doing business with them. The resorts are nowhere near worth the price they charge, and dealing with their customer service has been an absolute nightmare. They completely misled me and roped me into a contract that turned out to be a total scam. I feel betrayed and frustrated—like they took advantage of me. It’s been such a disappointing and stressful experience, and I wouldn’t want anyone else to go through what I did.
I can’t express how frustrated I am…
I can’t express how frustrated I am with Holiday Inn Club Vacations. Honestly, the resorts are nowhere near worth what they charge us every year. It feels like a complete rip-off. What makes it worse is that they refuse to let us cancel our membership. We’ve tried, but it’s like they’ve trapped us. I feel so betrayed by their sales tactics, and I wish we’d never signed up. It’s not worth the stress or the money.
If I could give zero stars
If I could give zero stars, I certainly would. My experience with Holiday Inn Timeshare was nothing short of a nightmare. Attending their presentation was a colossal mistake. What began as a seemingly "friendly" invitation quickly turned into hours of relentless, high-pressure sales tactics. The representatives were pushy, using manipulative and deceptive approaches to sell their product. They painted an overly idealized picture of timeshare ownership, which has since proven to be a complete disappointment. I strongly advise against engaging with them.
Don't like being lied to
I received an email that says I'd get 10k IHG One Rewards points if I travel within the next 60 days for a Holiday Inn Club Vacations visit with sales presentation. I took the trip and got no points.
Here's what the email says..
Ready to book your dates?
Receive 10K IHG One Rewards Points when you travel in the next 60 days!
That's all it says... Now they say I had to ask for the points while I was at the property. The email doesn't say that. I don't like being lied to. I didn't buy a package but I was tempted. I thought it might be beneficial for me but after this, I'd never buy from them. If they'll lie about giving rewards points, what else did they lie about? Probably everything!
I am trapped in a contract with Holiday…
I am trapped in a contract with Holiday Inn’s resorts. It’s disheartening to realize you’ve been misled into an agreement that feels impossible to escape, no matter how hard you try to resolve it. The resorts simply don’t live up to the commitment they demand. If you’re considering them, proceed with caution; your time, money, and peace of mind are worth more.
The payments keep climbing
The payments keep climbing, but the service hasn’t improved at all. It’s incredibly frustrating and disappointing to feel stuck in this situation. Signing anything with Holiday Inn has become a decision I deeply regret. They’re making it impossible for us to leave.
Holiday Inn Vacation Club HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!
I have read other reviews about Holiday Inn Club Vacations, and they all confirmed my experience. Their sales tactics are manipulative and exploitative.
As an elderly individual with a major physical disability, I was targeted by their unscrupulous pitch. The promises they made were false, and I deeply regret signing up. Avoid this company at all costs! This occurred Sept 30, 2023.
First i cannot afford this TIME…
First i cannot afford this TIME SHARE!!!!!!! I have had numerous calls from you and have told you so. Please stop the calls!!
Cancel
Signing up for the Holiday Inn timeshare is a decision I deeply regret. The ongoing payments have strained my finances, taking money away from more important priorities, like saving for my children’s education. Working in construction, my schedule is unpredictable, and I often plan vacations at the last minute. As a result, I’ve never been able to take advantage of the timeshare. What was meant to be a convenient getaway option has instead become a financial burden with no real benefits for my family. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone who values flexibility or has an unpredictable work schedule.
MAKE SURE YOU STAY, SINCE YOU PAY!!!
Ok...yes the stories of fright dealing with time share presentation pressures can definitely cause anxiety, frustration and downright disappointment. However, my family and I have been members since 2014. When I tell you we "over" use this membership, we get our money's worth. We have been numerous times to Orlando, Orange Lake; Tennessee, Gatlinburg; Nevada, Desert Club Resort Las Vegas; Arizona, Scottsdale; Texas, Galveston Seaside; South Carolina, Myrtle Beach (guests were very stuffy on a holiday weekend- not planning on returning)....and in November 2025, we are booked for Louisiana, New Orleans. For some amazing reason, when we call to book, there's always availability...and when we can not get our selected rooms...WE ARE ALWAYS UPGRADED TO THEIR SIGNATURE COLLECTION SUITES. We travel all season for any reason. Since we PAY, we are definitely going to STAY. Our young adult children also use it for group shenanigans. Ohh I almost forgot, my sister and her friend used the RCI benefits and vacationed in Aruba before Covid-19.
I say all this to share, these travel programs are only an issue when you don't know how to use it!! (or THEM, if you get my drift) I give all my complimentary friends and family stays to my clients and to other friends needing a quick getaway, and yes that help supplement my membership expenses. It's always a Win-Win for all! The world is stressful enough, and if you took the time to visit the resort, sat through that grueling pitch and still walked out with a membership, get your calendars out, grab some fun loving fam/friends and enjoy the most life has to offer. Peace to you all!
I’m extremely disappointed with Holiday…
I’m extremely disappointed with Holiday Inn Club Vacations. The value of the resorts is nowhere near what they charge you annually. Despite having paid everything off, they refuse to let us cancel our membership. I would strongly advise others to avoid this company and not fall for their sales tactics.
Regretting Purchasing Membership
I am unfortunately a member. Becoming a member is a terrible deal unless your travel dates are extremely flexible, you can book 11 months in advance, and you don't care about inconsistent quality of rooms and amenities.
Here are some of my complaints
1. Limited locations and unavailability. I have been a member for 3 years and I live about 4 and a half year and have been unable to stay at the Gatlinburg location because it is always booked. In fact, I have had poor success booking at most of the locations I would prefer to visit with the exception of Orange Lake in Orlando. With more than 4 months in advance, I was unable to book Gatlinburg, Cape Canaveral, or Marco Island for the months of June or July but I can go onto IHG right now and book the same rooms as a hotel guest. Also not to mention you are limited to staying at a select few locations across the country.
2. Inconsistent amenities, if you first go to Orange Lake in Orlando for the sales pitch don't be seduced by it because none of the other locations have anywhere near the same amenities. For example, we just visited Williamsburg and they don't even have 1 hot tub and the activities such as bowling and the arcade close down at 7 pm at night. We have stayed at both a holiday inn hotel and a HICV in Panama City and my teenage daughters would much prefer the hotel because the hotel because of the lack of activity at the resort.
3. Inconsistent quality. The interiors of some locations are up to date but others look like they have not been remodeled since the 90's.
4. Poor value. This year I have booked 3, one week stays. If I booked the same locations and rooms it would run me about $5400. In maintenance fees and booking fees I paid $2375. That does not include the cost of purchasing a membership. Unlike booking a hotel, if I need to make any changes to my reservation after booking it cost an additional booking fee. And unlike booking with at a hotel, I do not earn points that can be used for future free stays.
I was offered a 4-day
I was offered a 4-day, 3-night vacation package by Holiday Inn Club Vacations. I was told there were no blackout dates, no extra fees, and that the resort was located at the theme park. That was the only reason I agreed to purchase it.
When I called to book, I was told I’d have to pay an extra $177 because it was “peak season.” That directly contradicted what I was told at the time of purchase. Then I found out the resort wasn’t even located at the park as promised. When I asked for a refund, I was told no. They offered to cut the extra charge in half, but that’s not the deal I agreed to.
This was false advertising, plain and simple. No one should be misled like this.
My experience with the Holiday Inn…
My experience with the Holiday Inn timeshare has been nothing but disappointing and stressful. It all started with the promise of a "free vacation" if I attended a timeshare presentation. Sounded simple enough—a one-hour meeting. Instead, it dragged on for three hours with two pushy sales reps, and honestly, I still don’t know why it took that long.
After signing up, I quickly realized the so-called “benefits” were not what I was promised. They told me I’d get discounts at Hilton hotels, but that wasn’t true. The only options I’ve been given are a handful of resorts in places I’m not even interested in visiting. On top of that, trying to book anything that fits my schedule or travel plans has been nearly impossible.
The financial side has been the worst part. The payments are a serious burden, and no one warned me about all the ongoing costs. What’s even more concerning is that this financial obligation could end up being passed on to my kids, which is something I’m really worried about. I feel completely misled because the whole reason I signed up was for flexible, discounted travel—none of which has been delivered.
Honestly, I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone. It’s just not worth the headache.
Misleading sales
Do not spend money here! I was very stressed the first time I attended a presentation. Another one of their reps said the first salesman did me wrong and was going to fix it. Now I am under two contracts! Do not trust them.I experienced high-pressure sales tactics during my initial presentation. Subsequently, another representative claimed the first salesperson mishandled my situation and offered a resolution. This resulted in my being obligated under two contracts. I advise caution and recommend against spending money here due to a lack of trust.
We really regret investing in this…
We really regret investing in this timeshare. What started out as a way to enjoy family vacations has turned into a financial headache we deal with every single day. Every dollar we put into this feels like money we could’ve used to build a brighter future for our 3-year-old daughter or pay off medical bills that need attention.
We’re a hardworking family—we’ve earned everything we have through sheer effort. We’re not looking for handouts or anything we don’t deserve. But this timeshare has become such a heavy burden, it’s making it hard to focus on what really matters: giving our little girl a secure and stable future.
Looking back, I wish the whole process had been more transparent. It feels like we weren’t told just how expensive and restrictive this would be. It’s so frustrating knowing the money we work so hard for is going into something that adds no value to our lives.
If you’re thinking about getting a timeshare, please think twice. Don’t make the mistake we did. It’s just not worth the stress or the financial strain. All we want now is to move forward and leave this behind.
I would strongly advise caution before…
I would strongly advise caution before considering this timeshare. My experience was disappointing and incredibly frustrating. The sales process was overly aggressive, with high-pressure tactics that made me feel uncomfortable and rushed into making decisions I wasn’t fully prepared for. They painted an alluring picture of flexible vacation options and cost savings, but the reality didn’t align with their promises.
The fees were higher than what I was led to believe during the presentation, and additional charges kept appearing with little explanation. The scheduling process to book trips was also a nightmare—I rarely found availability for the dates or destinations I wanted, even though I booked months in advance. It often felt like I was paying for a service I couldn’t fully use.
Customer service has been difficult to reach and unhelpful when contacted, offering empty assurances instead of solutions. It’s been a stressful and costly experience, and I wish I had walked away during the initial presentation.
I’d recommend thoroughly researching and exploring other vacation options before committing to a timeshare like this. For me, it’s been more of a burden than a benefit.
Money keeps going out with nothing in return
The payments just keep growing and growing with no end in sight but service remains exactly the same. I deeply regret ever signing anything with Holiday Inn. What started as something that was promised as a good deal turned into an endless financial burden. Twice we were promised our monthly fee would gather enough points to use but when we talked to the hotel they either it’s not enough points or they never have rooms available even when it’s six months out. The try to get ahold of somebody nobody returns a call. We have told them multiple times we want out because we can never reserve a vacation over the last two years. Terribly frustrating and stressful.
I really regret buying a timeshare with…
I really regret buying a timeshare with Holiday Inn Vacation Club. Since we made the purchase, we’ve been hit with serious financial struggles—over $6,000 in plumbing and septic repairs, $5,000 in car repairs for two cars, and my husband being out of work due to COVID without income since he’s self-employed. On top of that, the monthly and annual fees for the timeshare have made things even harder. We’ve fallen behind on our mortgage, and I’ve had to pick up a second part-time job just to keep up.
Even if we wanted to keep the timeshare, the rising annual fees make it impossible to afford. And honestly, the “free stays” are hardly worth it since the resorts aren’t convenient for those of us in the Northeast. Planning a vacation means more travel time and extra costs, which just isn’t realistic for us.
We’ve tried reaching out for help, but the company hasn’t been willing to do anything. What was supposed to be an enjoyable experience has turned into a constant source of stress and financial headaches. I’d strongly recommend steering clear of Holiday Inn Vacation Club. It’s not worth the hassle.
