It has been hard tying to work with…
It has been hard tying to work with Holiday Inn Club Vacations. They misled us into a contract that is not worth what they expect us to pay. We try to reach out to cancel and they won't let us out.
Endless Nightmare
They draw you in to make it seem like great vacations at different resorts throughout the country. Then come the numbers to make it sound like it's great and affordable. You'll get more points as time goes by. Instead you're paying month to month. The monthly cost keeps increasing but your points don't unless you increase your level and/or get into another contract with one of their resorts. Next thing you're paying endless annual fees, higher interest and on and on. You ask them for help and they turn their backs on you.
HICV just keeps taking more money
Holiday Inn Club Vacations is the worst at taking care of its long-time members. Even when it's THEIR mistake, they are still very much like, "Oh well, figure it out, give us more of your money if you want any help." Fees increase every year by hundreds of dollars. When we ARE able to book, we do enjoy our room and space, but if we can help it, we try not to speak to anyone there or ask them for anything because nothing about being trapped in a timeshare contract makes us want to interact.
We were misled into signing a contract…
We were misled into signing a contract that wasn’t properly explained to us. The amount of money they expect us to pay them in perpetuity is no where near the service you receive in return. Their Customer Service has been anything but helpful as well. Stay away from anything Holiday Inn wants you to sign.
Unfairness even with knowledge of loss Son
My experience with Holiday Inn has been incredibly frustrating and disappointing. I have made numerous attempts to seek their assistance in ending my timeshare contract, but every interaction has been met with uncooperative and unhelpful responses. Their customer service has failed to provide clear guidance or take any meaningful steps to address my concerns, leaving me feeling completely stuck and unheard. I strongly advise others to steer clear of them, as my experience has been nothing short of a headache and a waste of time.
Horrible - Run from Holiday Inn…
My experience with the Holiday Inn Vacation Club timeshare has been nothing short of terrible. Despite reaching out to express my dissatisfaction, their response has been minimal and unhelpful. I am still making payments, but it’s becoming increasingly difficult, and I may eventually have to stop altogether. Holiday Inn has proven to be an unreliable company, and I cannot, in good conscience, recommend them to anyone. Save yourself the frustration and avoid falling into their deceptive promises.
My experience with Silverleaf Resorts…
My experience with Silverleaf Resorts has indeed been stressful. We were lured in by an appealing offer of a complimentary 2-to-3-day getaway, contingent on attending a timeshare presentation. What was supposed to be a 3-to-4-hour commitment turned into an all-day affair.
During the lengthy presentation, the salesperson promised us a timeshare that would provide year-round vacations at various resorts with excellent amenities. Convinced by these claims, we reluctantly agreed to the purchase and even upgraded our package, believing it would offer enhanced benefits and flexibility. However, it soon became apparent that the reality was far different from what we were sold.
Access to the resorts was complicated by numerous restrictions that had never been disclosed. On top of this, unexpected costs continued to arise, making it nearly impossible to understand how to properly use the membership.
This has not been a good decision for us, and we hope others make wise decisions when it comes to something like this. Be cautious about working with Silverleaf Resorts.
If I could give a zero rating I would
If I could give a zero rating I would. I wish I never signed anything from Holiday Inn Club Vacations. They are impossible to work with and will not let us out of this contract. They misrepresented what we signed up for on many different levels. They have terrible customer service and no desire to make the customer happy.
Refund acquired… after an INSANE PROCESS!
I called to confirm a hotel stay at an IHG hotel and they sent me over after to hear about a special they were offering. I was convinced to pay the $250 dollars on the phone for the 3 night stay. I got home and googled the club… there is not a single positive review of this scam.
Refund adventure so far….
I called them the same day to cancel the charge. The man on the phone emailed me a different email that I had to email saying that I wanted a refund and why. I then received a different email containing a link to a page that says “you don't have to pay anything unless you sign below.” Under that it says that it’s a cancellation in much smaller letters and you have to sign and submit it. This is the cancellation form! They are blatantly trying to trick you! I read the form and submitted it and got an email saying that now they have 14 days to review my cancellation request. I’m going to call my credit card company as soon as this charge is no longer pending and reverse the charge through them. How is this legal?!
Update:
They emailed me the next day denying my refund. I called them again and told the man on the phone that their cancellation form (which is meant to confuse and dissuade people) said I had 14 days to cancel from date of purchase and receive a refund 30 days from receipt of the request. I said i wanted to speak to someone about why my refund was denied. He gave me a whole speech and placed me on hold while he pretended to talk to someone from another department. He came back on and said they would be issuing my refund and that they would be sending me another email.
Update:
Refund received. 3 phone calls, 1 bullshit form and multiple emails later… this company should be sued for fraudulent business practices. Let me know when the class action begins.
Major Disappointment
My family and I have endured significant emotional and financial hardship due to our experience with Holiday Inn Club Vacations. We were sold the timeshare as a valuable investment, but instead faced rising costs, unavailable bookings, and broken promises. Attempts to resolve these issues, including paying a fee to Timeshares Only to sell the timeshare, brought no help and worsened our financial strain. We feel pressured during the sales process, misled by promises, and wronged by the company's suggestion to pay thousands more to exit the contract. This has been a frustrating and costly mistake, and we caution others to stay away.
No trust worthy
Its same IHG club. Do not trust these folks. Its a scam to take your money by offering vacation that is free when you attend a marketing seminar. Too good to be true is too good to be true. Also the extetion that wsa told as free will become chargeable.
Horrible experience overall
Horrible experience overall. I booked the $249 package to stay at the resort. I got put in a hotel and they charged my card $299. It should have been $199 for that package. Said they couldn't do anything about it no matter who i talked to. If they have that Horrible customer service just in the intro there is no way I am going to buy a package. They said they would look into it but never did. Never new a company with such horrible customer service.
I regret purchasing a Holiday Inn…
I regret purchasing a Holiday Inn timeshare. Every time we tried to use our points through RCI, nothing was available. The maintenance fees keep increasing year after year, making it even less worthwhile. The entire sales process felt deceiving—they were enthusiastic when selling to us, but afterward, it was like we didn’t matter. Honestly, I haven’t seen any real benefits from owning this timeshare. Would not recommend
Working with Holiday Inn is very frustrating!
Working with Holiday Inn has presented challenges. Their contracts feel quite restrictive, which can make it difficult to move forward when that’s your goal. Booking is impossible and it is hard to find reservations. Always many extra costs. Time and money are valuable and should be spent with companies that prioritize their customers' needs. Based on my experience, I would encourage others to explore alternative options.

I really regret investing in the Holiday Inn Club Vacation Timeshare. I have regret investing in the Holiday Inn timeshare program. From the start, it’s been nothing but frustration. First off, making a reservation was an absolute nightmare and seeing the renters enjoy to best rooms. Even trying to book a year in advance for April 2023, nothing was available—no locations, no room types we wanted. We were hoping for 2- or 3-bedroom units, but apparently, that’s impossible unless you know someone in Corp or buy more points. We just booked a beach destination and the only thing we was able to see was the pool. It wasn’t anything like what we were promised. I originally bought this thinking it would make retirement trips easy and enjoyable. Instead, it’s clear it’s just going to be a financial headache. Not exactly what I had in mind for my retirement.
Within the first month of owning this timeshare, I completely lost interest. Nothing was available, no matter how far in advance I tried. Honestly, I wish I could go back and never sign up for this. Save yourself the stress and avoid this trap.
Holiday Inn Club Vacations.
I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction with my experience as a contract holder with Holiday Inn Club Vacations. The services provided do not align with what was promised during the sales presentation, which I found to be misleading. Additionally, the value of the offerings does not justify the costs, especially with the recurring fee increases. Despite my attempts to address these concerns and seek a resolution, I have encountered resistance and a lack of cooperation in exiting the contract.
I really regret investing in the Holiday Inn Club Vacation Timeshare…
I really regret investing in the Holiday Inn timeshare program. From the start, it’s been nothing but frustration. Let me explain why:
First off, making a reservation was an absolute nightmare. Even trying to book a year in advance for April 2023, nothing was available—no locations, no room types we wanted. We were hoping for 2- or 3-bedroom units in Florida, but apparently, that’s impossible unless you buy more points.
Speaking of that, the locations were super limited. We were looking for beach destinations, but the options felt so restricted. It wasn’t anything like what we were promised.
And don’t even get me started on the hidden costs and upselling. I was told that to get larger units or access other hotels, I’d need to buy extra points. It’s like a never-ending money pit. The whole thing feels way too expensive to maintain, especially with all the extra costs.
I originally bought this thinking it would make retirement trips easy and enjoyable. Instead, it’s clear it’s just going to be a financial headache. Not exactly what I had in mind for my retirement.
Even the experience itself was a mess. The meeting to review the timeshare wasn’t even at the hotel I was staying at—they sent me to another resort entirely. The whole thing just felt disorganized and poorly managed.
Within the first month of owning this timeshare, I completely lost interest. Nothing was available, no matter how far in advance I tried. Honestly, I wish I could go back and never sign up for this. Save yourself the stress and avoid this trap.
Extremely disappointed with ourplan…
Extremely disappointed with our experience with Holiday Inn Vacation Club. We signed up for the timeshare but haven't had a chance to use it. The were destinations we were interested in were always booked. To make matters worse, we had to take time out of our schedule to return to Myrtle Beach for a reassurance meeting, only to be pressured into upgrading our points. It feels like a waste of money every month.
We're retired and working part-time to supplement our income. This adds even more financial stress. With my husband recovering from back surgery and unable to work for several months, we have realized we could plan vacations with more flexibilty and less expense than what you provide. It feels like we were sold something that doesn't live up to the promises made. We would never recommend this to anyone.
I truly regret ever purchasing a…
I truly regret ever purchasing a Holiday Inn Vacation Club timeshare. What was supposed to be an informative session turned into a high-pressure sales pitch that left me feeling stressed and cornered. Since buying it, the timeshare has been more of a financial and emotional hassle than anything helpful.
As someone with mobility issues, I’ve been especially frustrated to find that many of the resorts and facilities lack proper accessibility—things like ramps, elevators, or accommodations for physical disabilities. It’s made it really hard, sometimes impossible, to enjoy my stays.
It has become nothing but an inescapable and unusable financial burden.
I’m now working on getting this resolved and feel it’s time to end my timeshare agreement altogether.
If you’re thinking about getting one, I’d strongly recommend avoiding it. Save yourself the stress, frustration, and financial headache. There are so many other vacation options out there without all these issues!
A Holiday Inn Disappointment
We’ve had a really disappointing experience with the Holiday Inn timeshare program. After buying in, we quickly realized the financial commitment was way more than we could handle. The monthly loan payments, which stretch well into our retirement years, have become a huge burden. On top of that, the annual maintenance fees are an ongoing cost we just can’t keep up with.
What’s worse is the impact this could have on our family. If our kids inherit this timeshare, they wouldn’t be able to afford the maintenance fees, which leaves us feeling really guilty.
Plus, our priorities have changed. Our kids are now married with families of their own, and we honestly get more joy out of visiting them than going on timeshare vacations. What we thought would be a good fit for us just hasn’t matched our reality, and now we feel stuck in a commitment we don’t benefit from anymore.
If you’re thinking about signing up for this program, we’d urge you to really think about the long-term costs—financially, logistically, and emotionally. For us, it’s been a stressful and disappointing experience.
