Bought their Cream Pomade and the smell from the product is beyond awful - an incredibly strong and harsh chemical smell which after putting on this morning turned the noses of everyone in the office and has given me a stinging headache (literally left office to wash out as couldn't cope with smell).

To make matters worse, wrote to their customer service to let them know they need to look into and they just fobbed me off (even had the audacity to say can't return an opened product, despite me not asking for a return - incredibly dismissive and said it was the natural scent of bees wax, utter rubbish, there is no bees wax on the planet that smells like this!!!).

Awful experience with Horace, recommend people avoid this brand both for quality and service.

This is not the response I have already had from your team - I've been told that the smell is normal and the bees wax. I was also told that nothing you can do because I've opened product!! Funny that your public reply is far more service driven than your private customer service reply - don't be fooled people, this company couldn't care less!

That is a lie, I never once asked for a refund! Please show the email where I asked for this on this thread so people can see. I also did not 'refuse' to come back to the store, I said I live in Birmingham. Your attitude and ethics here are appalling.

I will also confirm with 100% certainty that the smell is not beeswax!!! Utterly absurd.

The beard oil smells nice but gave me a terrible rash on my face.

Amazing company with amazing products, ordering shampoo, deodorant and moisturiser regularly now because it’s so good!

Ordered Horace's SPF mattifying face moisturiser - which appears to be one of their signature products. Straight away I was unhappy with the product, despite using small amounts the cream is too thick and sticky and leaves my face feeling like it's been coated in PVA glue with white streaks. Despite this I tried using it several times and just couldn't get used to it. I emailed Horace to explain the situation and asked to receive a refund as I wasn't satisfied with the product. I also explained that I'd placed multiple orders and had purchased a range of their other products to the value of over £100. Horace were less than interested in helping me and all they wanted to do was give me a tutorial in how to apply face cream like I'm an idiot who can't rub cream on my face. Not happy with this service at all and will never be ordering from Horace again. As a new company to the UK market I thought I'd give them a try but my advice would be to use a brand with better products and a better customer service policy.

Great products, great service
Shower gels smell good and work well in a hard water area and my wife likes the soap as much as I do!
Using the right products at the right time makes wash/shower/shave a little bit more special rather than just a splash and go and the Horace products fit the bill

Great products at really good prices. The moisturisers absorb so quickly and leave the skin hydrated with no greasiness. I love the serums too and the facial cleanser.

Also the web site is slick and easy to use, and the customer service is fantastic. Love it!

Nice product (I think so far..) but such a shame they don’t smell of anything. When you are putting products on your face, you want a nice smell. Eg the Vit C serum smells nothing like Vit C.

Probably the worst smelling aftershave I have ever had the unfortunate pleasure of smelling.

I read some positive reviews that mentioned the Horace Aftershave was a really nice fragrance. I can only imagine that those reviews were in fact advertisements. The aftershave is awful and smells somewhat like a very weak coconut.

I've used this 4-5 times only since purchasing and even had colleagues mention how horrid it smells.

I can't comment on other products but the aftershave is certainly worth avoiding.

The products are excellent and the customer service is second to none. This company is growing by word of mouth by people that recommend it to other people. This is a marketing campaign money cannot buy. This is the way! Well done!

Great products and efficient service is what sums Horace up. I have bought a number of beard oils and aftershave balm. All products are of the highest quality and I have made a number of repeat purchases. All orders are dispatched promptly and I am delighted with my grooming products.

I use the hair cream and it's honestly the best I've used. Light and non greasy and managed my hair perfectly.

I have been married to my husband for 20 years and the Horace fragrance is by far the nicest fragrance he has ever worn. Everyone comments on it! Its not overpowering, and it smells so natural. Very different to the run of the mill Mens cologne. Please make a female version!

Stumbled across Horace when searching for a new aftershave balm – so glad I did, amazing product and will certainly buying other products in the range. High quality and reasonably priced for very chic French products. Highly recommenced.

Ordered 6 items, only 4 in the delivery! First time order. So poor.

Having struggled with dry skin for a long time, I thought it was time to give Horace a chance. I’d used a lot of slightly cheaper brands and hadn’t seen any real improvement in my skin. I had always been put off of buying from Horace due to the prices seeming over the top. I eventually spent £13 on the purifying face cleanser and £15 on the mattifying face moisturiser. After around 2 months of daily use, I can firmly say that the products are not worth the hefty price tag. OK it is clear that the products are a good quality from the bottles and the ingredients. It is also clear that Horace is a really well run brand and the customer service is amazing, but are the products good enough to pay close to £30 on? Unfortunately I don’t think so. I haven’t seen any real improvements in my skin, and although I wasn’t expecting a miracle from using these 2 items alone, I was expecting at least a slight improvement over time. It is likely a case of personal preference too, but the scents just aren’t for me as I can only describe them as medicinal.

On a positive note the face cleanser does leave me feeling fresh after each use, but does seem to leave me feeling slightly dry after a while. The moisturiser also leaves me feeling fresh, but does not seem to be long lasting enough especially during harsher weather (both hot and cold).

All in all I would rather spend slightly less money on brands that I think are equally as good, if not better (Harry’s, Bulldog, Seven Potions and Mancave to name a few).

I only recently came across Horace Normal to Oily Hair Shampoo for Men, I was looking for a replacement for the Photo Panama shampoo that I've used for the past 31 years and which was recently phased out. Not many companies do a mens shampoo for normal to slightly oily hair, but after trying the Horace shampoo I will be buying it regularly in future, its only the second shampoo that I've tried in the last 31 plus years that I've actually liked and which suits my hair.
