I booked before looking up reviews..SCAM

I booked before looking up reviews. When I saw the reviews I called the hotel I supposedly booked with, they had no record of my reservation. I called 7x over the course of 2 days and the call center at Hotels of America kept telling me not to worry and that the booking was confirmed. I asked them to give me the hotels actual confirmation number and they kept telling me they would speak with their travel partners and get back to me...but never did. I'm waiting for the transaction to clear the credit card and I'm having them cancel so I can book somewhere else. This place is a massive SCAM.

***Update, my reservation finally went through. This site might be good if you book 2-3 days in advance but it was super stressful trying to figure out why my reservation was taking so long to process. It was 48 hours before the actual hotel could confirm they had it in their system. The call center never once returned a call. Bumping them from a 1 to a 2 star review since it worked.

I booked the Linq hotel in Las Vegas…

I booked the Linq hotel in Las Vegas for my daughter and granddaughter. I called and confirmed reservations the day before they left. I paid with credit card. When the girls went to check out the hotel made them pay for the room again saying they never received payment from Hotelsinamerica. I’m now disputing the credit card payment.

I purchased hotel accommodations…

I purchased hotel accommodations through this company, including cancellation insurance. I then developed a lower back condition that prevented me from making the trip. I tried filling out the company cancellation form linked to my reservation, but it asks for a bank account number, which I would not provide. I've talked to numerous company agents, but keep getting the runaround. I doubt I'll get my money back. Avoid this company, it's a scam!

Booked us in a hotel under construction, website lied about amenities

The website shows the hotel we booked with as having a pool, a fitness center and a hot breakfast. This what the website showed when we booked and what it is still telling customers now. When we stayed last weekend, none of that was true. The hotel we paid the normal price for was under heavy construction with no amenities open. When I called, a representative said he couldn't discount at all, it might be different if I had photos! Well, I have photos of each boarded up spot! He says, oh, well he can't do a refund and no supervisors are available today. Total scam.

Extra charges at the end of the stay!

I was not told there would be a $15/night parking fee to self park in an unsecured parking lot. Hotels in America told me I'd have to work this out between me and the hotel. Sneaky way to get extra money. I won't use them again.

They also didn't help me when I complained cigarette smoke was coming through the ventilation fan in the bathroom.

Hotels in America is a very bad…

Hotels in America is a very bad company. We had a hotel booked since September 24,2024. The hotel cancelled the reservation due to storm damage from hurricane Helene December 12,2024.
We never heard a word from them. I found out December 2,2025 that the reservation was canceled and we were not notified by hotels in America. I called them and they refuse to cancel the reservation. They said I need to call hotel and get proof and click on link which I’m not doing. The district manager called them and they still are not complying. I have turned this over to fraud at the credit card company.
PLEase do not USE

hotelsinamerica - Great Experience

We used hotelsinamerica to book a recent trip to Key West at the Marriott on Duval. It went without a hitch. They offered the lowest rate by far, and it all went smoothly. Their communication was good, and we had literally zero problems. (We didn't even have to pay the hotel's resort fee, which we thought we'd have to pay at checkout.) We'll use them again.

Negative Stars

I made a reservation for a hotel using their website. It was a great deal. I paid the extra $18 for the reservation to be fully refunded up to the date of the stay. I had to cancel and when I filled out the refund form, it said claim denied and application was closed. There was no way to reach out to find out why. I used the chat option which was a joke. They said insurance and refunds are part of their external team and that someone would reach out. No one reached out. Absolutely do not use them. If it looks too good to be true, it is.

TERRIBLE! THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS ARE TRUE

THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS ARE TRUE! I use multiple third party vendors often and this has NEVER happened. I booked a NYC hotel early October via HOA to stay in December. Since there’s always a potential risk with third party vendors, I always call the hotel directly to confirm my reservation. I called in October the hotel didn’t have my reservation and stated HOA has to contact the hotel to provide my details in order to generate a hotel confirmation. I asked HOA repeatedly from October through December to confirm the reservation with the hotel. I was assured over 5 separate times that my booking was guaranteed and I had nothing to worry about. The “ travel partners” are on it and I would have my confirmation soon. On the last day of my free cancellation window and after I called 4 times in one day, I finally received an email that the hotel was overbooked and I in fact DON’T have a room. This is literally 3 days before I’m supposed to travel. There are limited options and all the prices have skyrocketed. I will never use this company again. The representatives are using a bogus script with all customers and they don’t know what’s going on or how to actually resolve an issue. There’s never a reason for you to wait to receive a hotel confirmation 48 hours prior to your check in date. I knew that was a lie but that’s what they tell you to keep your money. Luckily for me I stayed on top of the situation and received a refund. It seems their normal business practice is to take your money, get the run around regarding hotel confirmation, you show up to the hotel without a confirmed reservation, and then they refuse your refund with some ridiculous loophole or lies.

Hotels in America was recently listed…

Hotels in America was recently listed as the lowest priced option when I looked at a hotel I planned to stay with. When I went to check out, they tried to charge me an additional fee for the hotel breakfast. I've stayed there before, and I know the breakfast is free. Seems like a sleazy way to try and squeeze more money out of customers. I ended up booking with a different site because of that.

I should have read the reviews first…

I should have read the reviews first but I have a stay set with 2 people. I didn't see where I could add the extra guest. I call not to change the reservation but to add the second name. They charged me an addition fee for updating who the second person is. The will catch you coming and going with extra charges. I will never use this service again..

SCAM! SCAM! SCAM!!!!

Their website automatically advanced my booking date by a week, then conveniently their refund policy leaves out the detail that their policy "doesn't cover wrong booking dates" and will refuse a refund. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE!!!

Hotels in America a total scam operation

Just wanted to see how many more people have been scammed by this company. Total scam, do not trust anything from this company. I filed a BBB and FTC claim against this company in my state of PA and the company state of CA. I did not get anywhere when it was said and done because neither of these two types of filings can be tools to legally require the company to be accountable for their scam actions. In any event, if anyone ever needs some evidence and information to file a class action lawsuit with this company, please contact me. I'd be happy to invest the time to help do this. Look at all of these negative reviews and falsely advertised promises from their online website. It's just plain criminal if you ask me!
My above mentioned filings included Paypal which was much better than Hotels in America overall for replying, however, very lacking in their consumer protection for undelivered services from scam companies such as Hotels in America. So, beware of Paypal too. We cancelled our account with them. Please contact me if anyone does get started on taking legal actions with either of these two very low performing companies in regard to honesty and legitimate business practices. I struggle to even call Hotels in America a business. They are just a scam operation!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY THEY ARE NOT A GOOD COMPANY AT ALL

Do not use this company. A hotel i booked through them canceled my reservation. They will not give me my money back even though I never stayed at that hotel. Was all the money I had running from both hurricanes. The hotel has tried to talk to district manager every kind of manager and they will not return their calls. This is under the umbrella of Exparian . Yet still nothing

I would rate it a 0 is I could

I would rate it a 0 is I could. The manager at hotel said he would gladly refund us for the nights we didn’t stay and called this company to provide all the necessary information for me to get refunded. Hotels is American just gives you the run around to refund your money. It’s been 1 month and I still have not received my refund. This website is a SCAM. DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM.
