I have never used this site before and…

I have never used this site before and after today, I never will again. I put in the date I needed because I literally changed my flight an hour before. After booking, I noticed the date has changed to the very next day! So I called them saying I know I didn't put the next day. That makes so sense. He told me, it's non-refundable and non-changeable. He pretty much told me it was not my fault for verifying the date and that I'm need to pay and make a new reservation. I told him that i think this site changed it on purpose. So now I'm in the process of disputing this charge with my bank. I wished I looked at the reviews before I booked from this site. I hope my review helps someone so they don't fall prey to this site.

Your reservation means nothing

Stay away from them. I booked a hotel through them 10 minutes from we came from and were going back to the next morning. When we got there, they told us they were overbooked and sent us to another hotel 20 minutes in the opposite direction. It added 40 minutes of travel for us and we were also getting a cheaper place for the same price we had already paid. We have already contacted their customer service who was unable to compensate us in any way.

WARNING

WARNING: DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY. Hotel in America's card used on file at the hotel had insufficient funds. After multiple failed attempts using their card, I had to use my credit card to pay the hotel in order to check into my room (second time paying for my stay - first was paying Hotels in America). I had positive interactions with the support representative but left it with him to keep trying to process their card with the hotel. I was prepared to send Hotels in America my invoice from paying the hotel seeking reimbursement for my original payment to Hotels in America. Later that evening, the hotel informed me they were finally able to process a card through Hotels in America, and the hotel reimbursed the card I put down. I would not trust this company to be reliable in the future.

Tried to book a hotel in two different locations and on both the attractive price was "sold out" despite being there for me to book initially. Offered then much higher rates for the same hotel. Isnt this called "Bait and switch"?

I used hotels in America to book a one night stay

I used hotels in America to book a one night stay in Fort Myers, Fl in August. It was much less expensive than other websites. When I arrived at the hotel the receptionist asked me to make a payment but after I said I paid online everything was fine. The receptionist was in training maybe that’s why but surprisingly he offered me even a lower price than the one I found . I have no complaints.

Hotels of America and their associate Ocean 24 are fraudulent thieves. Stole ,$71.50.

Hotels of America is a fraudulent company that practices false advertisment. They are associated with Ocean 24 in Virginia Beach motel. I say motel because Ocean 24 list themselves as a resort hotel. No its a rundown motel. It has no food, vending machine and just before we left a mouse trap was found behind the bed. In addition the refrigerator doesn't close and it leaks. The floors are dirty as well. Also they are fraudulent thieves. First Hotels of America stated that the reservation is for room only. When we got there the hotel tried to charge additional fee for parking at a parking lot that was ,2 blocks away from the motel. We found free parking. Moreover, there were additional fees. I tried to cancel because of non disclosure of the additional fees. In the process I was asked to do a screenshot showing that additional fees were not stated. When I got to the part before conforming AI automatically pressed confirmed. Now I am stuck with two reservation for one night. The motel refused to cancel the second reservation which was mistakenly done. Hotels of America asked them to sign a cancellation form so that I can get my money back. They refused. They stole my money. They even refused to change the date on the incorrect reservation so that I could utilize the room that I paid for. Do not use Hotels of America or Oceans 24 they are fraudulent thieves. My bank is investigating.

I'd give Hotels of America negative 5…

I'd give Hotels of America negative 5 Stars if I could. I booked a room at a Microtel Hotel thru their site and it was the wrong date and location. Could have been my error, but I suspect that the website took me to the wrong location. Either way, I called after getting the confirmation and realizing the error.
I called within an hour and was told that they could not or would not refund the charge. Seriously? Zero grace period? I am going to contact the hotel's corporate office and strongly recommend that they no longer allow Hotels in America to act as a third party reservation service. Don't use them!

Website seems to work but when u went through the booking process it always required me to put my data in again.
I got suspicious and found many Bad reviews. So I stopped my booking.

charged $15 extra charge for their own fault...

charged $15 extra charge for their own mistake, some reviews reminded people of "Include all adults names while making reservation …" but there's no way actually,
as I did on all other platforms can send 2 names to hotel for many cases either guest arrived first can check in, including this platform I did put both 2 names but this platform was sending only first 1 name and the hotel would insist that person to show up to be able check in, all other guests even have names on the platform record but what the hotel received was only first 1 name; then any others except the first name were unable to check in. In the case I arrive late than my guests but the hotel did not allow my guest to check in, so I had to call the platform (hotelsinamerica.com) about why, they refused to admit their fault and insist to charge $15 extra for their own mistake of sending only 1 name, under the name of "changing person", in other words, their system can't do 2 guest names, they can only allow 1 single person name for the hotel, you can pay $15 to change to another person to check in, but never both names be able check in.
The $15 charge was shown from super.com , I tried to contact credit card issuer to dispute this $15 charge from super.com was not authorized, but this dispute was not successful.

Update: with many emails complaining the extra $15 charge, many threads received and explains, and replies lasted for a month, near end of this September they did refund the $15 to my card finally. Hence I changed from 1 to 2 stars.

They don't give your money back even though you don't stay at the hotel you booked and when the hotel offers a refund to be made

I paid them for a hotel stay. Arrived at the hotel and it was nothing like described. The manager said she would not accept money from hotels in America and she gave me an invoice with a zero to give to hotels in America so I would get refunded. I called hotels of America and they agreed to refund with no penalty. I spoke to Geraldine.

We booked a room at a nearby Hilton that same night August 12,2024.

Then I received an email stating I had to submit a copy of the hotel invoice showing zero amount spent to a partner company called super.go which I did. Then hotels in America told me the invoice was blurry. I've sent them the invoice over 30 times and they claim they can't read it. I've sent it to myself and friends and family and American express and everyone can read it. Hotels in America never paid the hotel and have illegally kept my money for over three weeks.

They lie about not being able to read the invoice which I've sent numerous ways. I did an appeal with American express but im also taking the company to small claims court here in orange county and making a complaint to the BBB. Uugh. What a nightmare.
