This company is terrible

This company is terrible. I booked a King room and they sent the hotel incorrect information saying I booked a Queen size Handicapped room, which I did not. I requested to be moved to a King room and the hotel charged me extra. I asked for this amount back from the company and they have not been true to their word or easy to work with. They said they would give the refund and then they said they would not. I also submitted BBB complaint.

Avoid this scam at all cost

Website was janky. Refreshed the first time I tried to submit the booking form and the date changed from July to November and the refresh must have unchecked the box to get a refund, but I doubt they would refund even if I had. Failed to get my money back through paypal and currently going through a dispute with my bank, but hotelsinamerica are professional scammers and they have their ToS to legally back their sleazeball tactics. $120 down the drain and they never even sent me my hotel confirmation anyway, so I don't have any booking info. Just a hopeless feeling watching evil scammers beat you down and nobody is out there to help the consumer.

Edit (25 Nov 2024): I was able to get a refund through my Chase bank after Paypal sided with the scammers. I hope banks and other financial institutions halt doing business with companies like this. I've read through some of the newer reviews and it looks like others have experienced what I went through. I'll be surprised if this company is around in a year.

Hotels in America Refuses Refund Despite Hotel Being Sold Out

I have booked several times for rooms at Drury and Holiday Inn with no issues.

My reservation at Sure Stay Hotel by Best Western (660-584-3646) didn't go as well. The non-smoking room was not available and the hotel was sold out. The manager at Sure Stay cancelled the reservation in front of me and showed me the completed cancellation.

I requested a refund from hotels in America. I sent in their forms and proof of my having to stay at Super 8. Hotels in America now refuses to issue a refund claiming that their "travel partner" didn't cancel the room.

They can call the manager at the hotel who will verify that the room was cancelled. I just called them today.

Now I will dispute the charge with my credit card and prove that the service paid for was not provided, that the hotel cancelled the reservation, and that Hotels in America is being dishonest in their response to me.

I booked a hotel with hotel in america…

I booked a hotel with hotel in america website. After I arrived at The hotel, The hotel manger inform me she couldn't find my name in their reservation list, so I was tired and I booked directly with the hotel and start calling hotels in america their customer service they claimed they did the reservation I asked for supervisor and I asked the supervisor to call the hotel Manger directly to confirm my reservation I was infront the hotel manger when she inform him she didn't have my name on the reservation list, then the hotels in America supervisor apologized to me and assured me it was a mistake in 72 hours I will get my refund. After 72 hours no refund he ask me to give him another 72 hours, today I recieved an email stating our parteners declined to
give you a refund. Reading a lot of reviews this is what they do scamming Americans from India. I wish the US government protect its citizens from scammers from India not to use the Google travel websites to scammed Americans.

Their trick is they will show you $10 difference from most of a well know travel websites like Expedia, Travelocity....

Stay away from them ........

Scam!!!

Scam!!!! Don't ever book any hotel from Hotels in America!!!! Hotel didn't receive booking under my name and hotel told me that they always had problem with this website. Customer service promised refund the money to me via Email, but I never received my money. I've tried to dispute from Paypal, but the last minute they showed their policy said it was un-refundable and the fake reservation to Paypal, so Paypal on their side. Then I've called my bank did dispute, this BS website still lie about the reservation and policy to my bank, my bank also said the transcation is valid, this is insane!!!

Stay away!

Booked a room on 8/5 for 8/10. Upon arrival to the hotel they could not find a reservation for my name and booking #. They were sold out of rooms and couldn't offer me another. I waited on hold for 30 minutes for someone to answer and keep me on hold for another hour and when the second person answered they said they have to call me back. I asked for a refund but they insisted at 9pm to keep trying to get me into this hotel and that they don't do refunds. Hours of my planned weekend wasted. I ended up having to spend another $380 at another hotel and at about 10pm is when they said they will refund me but I need to give them a pay pal email? I didn't pay with a pay pal account and don't have one so this is extremely strange. Whole thing seems like a scam. Will never use again.

Don't do it

Wish I had done better research before booking through them; like another review before mine - I was charged twice. While customer service was helpful and said I could submit the hotel receipt to their amendment page - the receipt is for $0; I don't know why, I don't care why. I'm just gonna go through my credit card company to do a charge back and save myself time and stress.

Not trustworthy

Not trustworthy. The second the room was "booked" we waited 5 minutes for a confirmation email and it never came. We then contacted the hotel and they said there was no reservation under our name. I called Hotels in America and they said there was no booking under our name either. This was very fishy because I distinctly remember putting in all the info carefully and the website claimed the booking was successful after we checked out. The card used was then checked for any charges and locked. This whole ordeal made me very suspicious of the trustworthiness of this site. Especially after I looked the site up and everyone has a bad experience. This made me so annoyed I made an account to post this review.

Unfair Practices - Not Customer Oriented

Booked a one night stay in Charleston, NC at the Hyatt. There was an issue with the cleanliness of the room; bed linen soiled with blood. We changed rooms twice due this issue. The Hyatt offered a 50% credit on for the stay. HotelsinAmerica is refusing to refund me the credit without a $30 processing fee. I requested to see the policy in writing - no response. This has been since June 23, 2024. I would not recommend using this booking site.

Wish I could do negative stars

Wish I could do negative stars. Use this site to book at a beachfront hotel. On all sites for this hotel you get an ocean view or a garden view. The room options started with were different number of beds for the "garden view" rooms and then the higher prices were for the different numbers of beds for rooms "the views". The pricing details also said it included the resort fee, but then charged for the resort fee. I called the hotel they said the reservation is for definitely a garden view room. I called HotelsInAmerica customer service and was told "it doesn't say what kind of view so the hotel can pick any view they want" and "it is our process to have the resort fee paid at the hotel". When I pointed out it says in the pricing details for my specific reservation "includes resort fee" both the first person and the supervisor repeated the same exact words. I don't see how the consumer is supposed to interpret "the views" at a beachfront hotel to mean a window. In the end, they did nothing to address either one of these issues.
I wish I could post photos of my reservation and the room choices, but you can't do photos here

I've used them twice in 2 different…

I've used them twice in 2 different cities this july. Both times I had no problem. Went to check in at hotel, presented ID card, received key card for room. No asking for tips for booking from the company. I don't use PayPal, Which seems to be a lot of people have an issue with. I'll update if I ever have a problem.

Smells Funny / SCAMish

I tried to reserve. Entered all my information, and they wanted me to leave a tip (can you imagine!!!!) which I declined. Well, card did not go through. I called the bank, they say and approved but nothing, so I tried a second time in my phone while I had the bank, transaction declined again. I changed credit card, same thing, and I am thinking they wanted me to pay that tip. BEWARE.

Total scam to fall for when you’re…

Total scam to fall for when you’re sleepy traveling. I needed a hotel by Boston airport and decided against my better judgement to use their site. They did the ole bait and switch. I ended up renting a hotel an hour and a half away from airport. When I called to cancel moments later they claimed they could not refund my money. I lost it on the lady saying I was going to dispute the charge and write a bad review. It’s set up for click bait and no refunds. She all of a sudden changed her tune but I had to reach out to the hotel myself and see if they would refund me. The hotel was very nice and did. Yet I got an email this morning from this shady company asking if I still wanted to dispute. Do not use this middle man! Absolute pain in the butt. Not honest
