Avoid at all costs and use a reputable site.
This is absolutely a scam service of the lowest order. They are just literally acting as broker between booking sites and the properties with ZERO due diligence or care on behalf of the service actually being utilized by the consumer. They engage in predatory behavior and refuse to address any valid concerns of health-impacting situations. Avoid at all costs and use a reputable site.
This company is NO GOOD!!
This company is NO GOOD!!! If they are even a real company. I believe they are an organized scam myself. They take your full payment which happened to be PayPal in our situation and weeks later did not have any booking for us. We called the hotel to make sure it was all set, and the hotel had no record at all. I filed a claim against this so called company with the FTC and the BBB today, in hopes that our government agency's can get me some help in getting a refund, and to bring this illegitimate company to full light. I also filed against PayPal because they did not honor their payment protection policy for my wife and I as a victim of this scam. That was after trying to work with pay Pal for 6 plus weeks through all their formal procedures and full patience on my behalf, until I was given the run around week after week. We received absolutely nothing in return for our payment to them via Pay Pal, and as mentioned above, no protection from Pay Pal as of yet. I will update this if Pay Pal chooses to do the right thing, and if by some miracle , Hotels in America chooses to do the right thing I will update this for that reason as well.
Zero stars
Zero stars. Total scam. Reservation was paid for yet Hotel had no record of it or payment. All I received for my 131.00 was a headache. They have scamming down to a science by sending fake confirmations and having a terms of service that states no refunds or cancellations. My reservation was never made at the hotel nor paid for yet PayPal sided with the scammers because they provided a fake confirmation and terms based on there actually being a real reservation. Phones at hotelinamerica are not answered either so you can’t even talk to customer service. AVOID at all costs
Don't care about there customer
So we had drove over 16 hours and as you can imagine we were tired, so I got on online and booked a room. I try to check in early but the room was not ready, ok we got over that and decided to wait, as we drove to get something to eat. We were in a car accident, and my daughter was hurt, we ended up in the hospital and never checked in to the room. When I contact a customer service to ask about having a refund they said they had a non refund rep policy and I did not notice that when I booked the room. They told me that they could not accommodate me, when I talked to the supervisor he said he was going to talk to the hotel in the third party company I thought they were the third party company to see if I could get my refund back. I was contacting today and was told that no I could not get it back. I think that it is the worst customer service I've ever had I do not think they should be out here doing business for people because they do not accommodate the customers whatsoever my situation should have been understood and I should have got to refund back for my room point blank. Why is this place still in business. I have contacted the better Business bureau as well as local news stations because I want this company shut down.
Canceled reservation- no notice
I drove 4 hours with 2 small kids to be informed at the desk my reservation had been canceled. The $ was still taken out of my account! I called customer service and waited 30+ min while the they communicated with their travel partner. Indeed, canceled due to a "technical glitch." Their solution was a refund and 10% back but it will take 3-5 days. Thankful the hotel had a last-minute reservation and I had the funds to cover it. Could've been an absolute disaster.
BE WARNED - DO NOT USE!!!! SCAM!!!!!
If I could give ZERO stars I would. DO NOT USE THIS WEBSITE FOR ANY RESERVATION OR ACCOMMODATIONS!!!!
In unfortunately used this company for a hotel reservation for a single night on my way to relocate 16 hours away. After 8 hours of driving, I researched hotels in the area to rest and change. I was not looking for anything fancy as I would be only in the room for the night and leaving early the next day.
I used this “company” to book a reservation. They immediately withdrew money from my credit card and sent over the confirmation information.
The nightmare started as soon as I arrived to the hotel to check-in. They had no record of my reservation.
I couldn’t believe it, I thought I went to the wrong hotel or maybe mixed up the check in dates by accident. After a few minutes the receptionist grabbed the hotel manager to assist.
He stated that they do not accept or have any type of offer from “hotelsinsmerica.com”. They have never heard of the site, and did not have my confirmation or booking information.
I IMMEDIATELY tried calling the “customer support” line on their website, and after 2+ hours on hold, I STILL could not get in touch with anyone.
I then emailed the company in hopes that a representative would be more helpful and give an update/explanation with my issue. I was expecting not only a refund, but a simple apology and quick fix for this situation.
However that has not been the case. This reservation was on a Monday so it wasn’t like I had to wait for the next business day, but it took FOUR DAYS for anyone to reply to my email (As I was waiting I was still attempting to call and reach anyone from their support line- still not answer).
Their response email had no advice, no explanation, not even an apology. Instead they wanted PROOF of my booking information that I had to book with ANOTHER website for the hotel night that they failed to provide me.
I immediately gave proof of all my information (crossed off all my financial information), and again waited for a reply.
Since then, it has been almost TWO WEEKS, and no one has responded or replied to my multiple emails just asking for clarification, help, anything. No one has answered the customer service line. No one has provided ANY information or explanation for all of this.
The day of this fiasco I did dispute the transaction with my credit card company, but it takes up to 45 days for an investigation. I am on day 25 of the dispute and am truly hoping that my credit card company will take action against this fraudulent transaction and this fake company.
DO NOT USE THIS WEBSITE FOR ANY RESERVATION OR ACCOMMODATIONS!!!! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!!
Unethical Business Practices
While standing in the lobby of a hotel, I booked a room on Hotels in America's app. The app automatically populated a reservation date other than the date I was intending to book. 15 minutes later, when checking in, I learn that the reservation was for a different date. The hotel agreed to cancel the misbooked reservation. The hotel gave both written and oral confirmation to Hotels in America that the reservation was cancelled with no penalty. Hotels in America has still not acknowledged the refund. I spent hours on the phone with Hotels in America being given the run around. After being on a call for 54 minutes, the Hotels in America representative hung up the phone unannounced.
Deplorable business practices. Company should be shut down.
Do not use this website
Do not use this website!
They wouldn't refund one night from my two night stay. My friend who booked at the same time for the same dates through the hotel was easily able to get his one night refund.
Do not use. Just book through the hotel.
A total scam
A total scam. There should really be the zero star option. There is nothing to give even 1 start for.
The hotel room was not available at my arrival. All smoking rooms. By chance the hotel manager was there. She immediately cancelled the reservation and refunded the virtual credit card from Hotels in America (BTW there is a difference between what they pay the hotel and what they charge the customer - a protection payment?). Myself and the manager were at the phone with hotel in america 3 times and 3 times the customer service representative hang up on us. In one of the calls they asked me to send documentation I couldn't possibly have or send so the manager did. The same was asked to me again later and I got the hotel provide me with a document to send and I did. Despite all, no refund. They double dipped charging me and the hotel for zero service. The hotel manager requested to have their hotel cancelled from Hotels in America's list. STAY AWAY FROM THEM. Question is why are they still in business of defrauding people?
To answer the question of one of the ONLY 2 (out of 78) satisfied customers. If there is no problem because you were one of the only 2 lucky ones is all good. If there is a problem like the rest of the 76 of us you lose your money and receive the ugliest customer service. Feeling really cheated on so many levels! Keep using them and you will end up adding to the Zero star club.
DO NOT USE - hidden "fees"
DO NOT USE. Too bad zero stars is not an option.
I am not a reviewer of people and places. Everyone has an experience or opinion but I can't keep quiet on this one. Horrible company!! Horrible customer service - I can't even call it that. Wish I had seen these reviews before I used their website. Charged me 25% of the total hotel expense - 25% - as a "service fee" and then tried to blame my displeasure at their actions on ME! They said my "accepting the terms" when I made the reservation, meant I accepted the "service fee" charged for their "being a small business". I spoke with a "supervisor" (after my emails were ignored) and tried to explain there was zero notification of said "fee", not even in their Terms of Service on their website. Nowhere was I told (or does it say) that the "taxes and fees" line on the booking confirmation statement actually goes to them. Said statement is drafted in a way that it looks like "taxes and fees" goes to the hotel. But when the hotel invoice arrives, and there is such a large discrepancy between what the website charges and what the hotel charges, you see why I call it "hidden fees". Complete false advertising. Would not work with me at all on a refund; not even a partial one. Learn from my costly mistake! Be aware of what you are paying for with these people.
Scammers
Those folks stole my money. I had a reservation for them from hotelsinamerica from May 14 to May 19 and I called and stated I was ill and not able to travel. I was told I could get refund if I provided doctor's note, however, after providing the note, they still took my money. This is absolutely immoral behavior and theft from people.
Long story short
Long story short, hotel room booked through them was OVERBOOKED that night. Tried to dispute, even through PayPal, but did not get any sort of refund. I was scammed. I would not recommend booking with hotelsinamerica, I believe they are a scam business. May work sometimes but if things go south, you can forget getting a refund. Check other reviews to confirm the exact same experience I had - don't let their low prices pull you in.
Do NOT USE - Read other reviews here!
Do NOT USE! PLS Read other reviews here! Big SCAM! ...and small saving you think you will get is just not worth the aggravation you will get if and when things go wrong! Questionable why reputable big chain hotels use them at all as so many bad reviews surely will affect their reputation as well unless to shift completely unsellable, inexistent or worst rooms they have. I have booked 2 times though them as traveller from abroad and unaware of their reputation and found them on map search for nearby hotels. one was not habitable. They are difficult to get in touch with. They will happily take your money but will not deal with any issues! I will not use them again and would not recommend!
Do not use this website
I booked through HotelsinAmerica without reading online reviews first. I called Hilton to verify my reservation before I left, and they had no reservations booked for me. I called Hotels in America and got the run around. They were supposed to call me back with their “travel agency”, but I never received a call back, nor did a receive my money back. DO NOT trust this website.
They refused to refund a booking that…
They refused to refund a booking that was made for the wrong time window, the request was made within 1 day of placing the booking, they said they would be refunding me then went dark on communications...
Stay away from this company
Stay away from this company, they are scammers, I had a really bad experience yesterday when we arrived at the hotel we didn’t have a reservation.
Horrible company
Horrible company. Was sick with Covid and tried to cancel or at least get a hotel credit. Nope! Kept my money although hotel said they would have refunded if booked with them as I gave plenty of notice. Don't do it! They are horrible!!
A scam
A scam. I made a reservation & upfront payment. And when I got a confirmation it said that I will pay additional $69 to the hotel. Whenever you book all fees must be listed. If they ask you to pay anything additional after making a payment - it's a scam. They are probably somewhere in India... Trying to reach by phone & all I get is a hold music, no one is picking up. Sent an email but I doubt I'll get anything back too. Credit card dispute definitely.
If I could give negative stars I would
If I could give negative stars I would. I booked a room 3 weeks in advance. They took the payment immediately. Then I read the reviews (I know I should have don't that first). I called the hotel to verify my reservation, but there was not one made. I emailed the company and 3 days later they emailed me back stating that it takes time for a reservation to show up and to give it a few days. Well 1 week before our upcoming trip there is still no reservation. I emailed and called, again and have yet to hear back. I disputed the charge through my bank and got my money back. I booked directly with the hotel, which was cheaper anyway. Do not use this company! They steal your money and do not respond to issues.
ZERO STARS
ZERO STARS. In fact, they owe ME some stars. Today, we booked a last-minute hotel for tomorrow night for a memorial service. My husband actually made the booking, and he told me what the name of the website was. I commented that I had never heard of it. He went ahead and made the booking, and then I started reading the reviews. 8 hours later, my husband was nervous, so he asked me to call the hotel and make sure they had our reservation. They did not have it. Furthermore, they are booked solid for tomorrow night. So sounds like this scam operator just made off with over $200 for doing literally nothing besides claiming we were booked into a hotel that is already booked full. We are going to be filing a fraud report with our credit union on Monday. I'm not sure if that will get our money back or stop the transaction, but it's worth a try. Please learn from our fail and do not even think about booking with these people. Of course, if you're like me, you will be reading this after you have already given them your money.
