Hoults were exceptional, providing us with great, professional service despite our short lead time to move. They fitted us in a short notice, having previously provided a comprehensive quote and we chose the fragile pack. The team on the day were brilliant, and made a stressful day significantly easier all round. Thank you!

Fantastic service from start to finish. Removal team was professional, careful, polite and nothing was too much trouble from taking apart wardrobes to get them out the house to looking for a box of teddy’s in the van containing my daughters favourite bear!!
Once at the new house the van was unpacked with efficiency and every item and box placed exactly where we wanted it.
We couldn’t fault Hoults service and would highly recommend.
Thanks Andy, Martin, Ryan, Michael, Paul, Jay, Carl .. and everyone else from Hoults involved in our move 😁

Andrew, Paul and Aran, packed and moved our furniture to store on 1st March and were excellent. Efficient, courteous and professional. We cannot speak too highly of them.

Our removal process was as smooth as we hoped. The team that came to pack up started by laying down carpet protector’s and asking for information on what was going and what was staying. They where very efficient and clearing the house which gave us time to clean the property before we closed the door.
The next day at the receiving property the team beat us to there which was some 2 hours away. Again the carpet protector’s were put down and the team were very communicative which were each box was to be deposited. As it was a cottage we were moving into they were very respectful of both our property and the house itself and didn’t cause any damage.
The teams at both ends were excellent.

The Hoults team ( headed up by Andy) we’re exceptional! We have a large 6 bedroom house, with lots of furniture be removed for short and long term storage, and the Hoults staff were respectful at all times. They protected our floors and carpets, before they started, ensuring everything was kept in order for the new family moving in.
Throughout the removals, Andy and the team kept us up to date with the process, always double checking what was to be stored for long term and short term storage. Even in the cross over of the new family’s removal guys moving their furniture into the house, and Hoults moving us out, they were professional and accommodating all of the time.
I would highly recommend Hoults removals, they’d be our first choice next time we move house! Thanks Andy and the Team you were all fantastic!!

Every single member of the Hoults removal team were exceptional which put the whole stress of the move at ease. Each team member introduced themselves and were quick, efficient while doing the job in record time - nothing was a problem to them. Please pass on our thanks again to all the lads !

Hoults made moving day so much easier than I anticipated. The team was so helpful, encouraging and kind. They were extremely respectful and efficient too. They de-escalated my stress levels brilliantly. I was amazed how they persevered and succeeded in taking really large items to all the upper floors of my new home along narrow staircases. They also dealt so professionally with part of the consignment that was being shipped overseas to family. I can't recommend Hoults highly enough. They have been the only highlight during this very stressful period and they deserve a full five stars⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐👍

Hoults recently moved my parents from Darlington to Gateshead.
The move was over 2 days.
The guys were all professional, polite and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble for them.
Based on this experience, we would definitely recommend this team and use them again!

Hoults Removals provided excellent service to us for a long distance move within the UK and I have no hesitation in recommending them. From the outset we received prompt and helpful communication from the office setting up the move. When the removal date changed due to circumstances outside our control Hoults were very understanding and accommodating. On the day of the move the team cleared the house carefully, leaving no mess behind. Everything arrived to our new home in perfect condition and, despite some logistical issues with access, the delivery team (Andrew, Ken and Rob) went above and beyond to get the job done and make sure all items were moved to the requested locations. All in all we had a great experience with Hoults and our thanks to the whole team.

We recently had our belongings delivered after more than a year in storage. Everything was pristine and undamaged, and the delivery team were polite, careful, helpful and patient. All in all, it couldn't have gone better!

We used Hoults for our move abroad from the UK early in the summer. The service was appallingly bad from start to finish and we have had a very stressful few months trying to resolve the issues they caused.
The initial loading of our household contents went mostly fine, until the end of the day when the removal men caused significant damage to a piece of furniture due to carelessness - probably because they were tired and were trying to finish up quickly. The rush to get the loading completed was pointless as it turned out when they reached the Channel that they had not obtained all the necessary Customs documents despite having had several months' notice of the move (we had provided all the completed documents in good time but it appears there were further documents which were Hoults' responsibility to obtain). Hoults blamed the DVLA for the delay - the DVLA's extended timescales were known about well in advance and Hoults should have factored this in.
As a result of this delay, our household contents were delivered three days later than agreed, meaning that we had to find alternative accomodation in the meantime. Hoults offered us a small payment as compensation for this; the amount was insultingly small given the inconvenience which had been caused by their errors, particularly in light of the huge cost of the removal.
On the day the van arrived at our new home, instead of arriving early in the morning as promised, the drivers did not turn up until lunchtime because they had been given a completely incorrect address and had spent hours driving all over the countryside. It is incomprehensible that (a) the office had failed to pass the delivery address to the drivers; and (b) the drivers took so long to work out what was wrong and find the right address, despite repeated calls from us to explain exactly how to reach us (and it's not a difficult location to find!). This meant that, when they arrived, they were already tired and stressed, meaning that they had to rush the unloading. Even worse, they could not park the huge van off the road despite the office having assured us previously that they would be able to do so (we had sent photos to show the amount of available space). Instead, they had to block the street, which resulted in the police arriving to warn us that there would normally be a significant fine for doing so and that we would need to finish the unloading in a very short time. If Hoults had been truthful about the fact that the van would not be able to get off the street, we would have been able to arrange a permit for blocking the street. Instead, we ended up helping to carry items from the van to the house to speed up the process, and the drivers had to leave without reconstructing the beds as they were meant to do.
This was all very stressful, but was nothing compared to the subsequent months when we tried over and over again to contact Hoults about the insurance claim for the damaged items. They never answer their phone - I tried literally hundreds of times to get through to them, calling all the possible numbers I could find on the internet and email correspondence. It turned out that the only way to get hold of them was to phone Pickfords and ask to be put through. They also failed to respond to emails or to process the insurance claim, allegedly because their computer system (and that of the claims handler) had been hacked. Incredibly, their computer system was supposedly down for around two months, during which time they had no access to any of the documents relating to our move or any email correspondence! I find it hard to believe that an established company can fail to resolve an IT issue for such a significant period of time.
In the end, I was given the contact details of the claims handlers and had to deal with them direct. Eventually, the claims handlers had everything they required except a document which they needed from Hoults. I managed (after many calls, emails, and threats to go to the ombudsman, as had become the norm by that point) to get through to Hoults, only to be told that it was no longer their responsibility and that I should liaise with the claims handler! It took yet more emails, calls and threats to get them to understand that the claims handler needed a document from Hoults before the claim could be processed. We have finally, after three months, had the insurance claim resolved.
In conclusion: avoid Hoults like the plague! They may be (slightly) cheaper than the premium removers but I can't put a figure on the time wasted and the stress caused by their utter incompetence and dreadful service.
I have rang three different numbers to speak to someone but answerphone only. We were promised a quote by Thursday but it is now Friday. Hoping against hope that someone gets back to us. Where can all your employees be?

Do not employ this company. Regardless of how they treat their paying customers they have no concern and reason to think about the people around the move.
They have no concern over the flora of the community.
On a recent move of our neighbours they had scant regard for the trees en route and took many branches off the blossom trees and made quite an entrance and exit with little appreciation by the banks man or the "skilled" driver.
Following many calls to the office and the promise of a call back around making the trees safe it was taken into the remaining residents hands to rectify and make safe the damage Hoults had made.
A cavalier attitude by a cavalier company. Shame on them. Money pays and they disregard the aftermath of their visit.
Hoults moved my mum to her new place, she went for the packing service and they were brilliant. Really efficient and friendly. Would definitely recommend.

Hugely happy with our recent experience of being moved by Hoults.
Punctuality was spot on, the team was really well led by Andy and they really did seem as if they wanted everything to go smoothly, efficiently and carefully for us. This was our first move for over 20 years and we were understandably a bit anxious about how it would go, especially as we had some more sentimentally significant items which needed to go into storage; we needn't have worried at all.
Thank you to Andy, Ryan, Michael and Jon- we hope very much that when our belongings come out of storage that you also move us into our forever home!

The initial service was good and pro and efficient. But, when the time came to validate the final cost of the insurance for the move, there were some hidden costs that Hoults did not disclose before. I ended up not picking Hoults for that reason as I prefer full transparency. So advice is to ask in writing early on all the costs, and not just trust the person on the phone.
We have used Hoults several times over the last 30 years. Arrived on time everything went smoothly.

The move team on 26th March were really helpful and efficient, took two extra wardrobes than I had originally asked for, they even went back to the warehouse to get an extra unit! Excellent service, I will always use Hoults!

Just an update to my previous comments. I paid the removal fee approximately 2 weeks before removal date as asked the money came out of my bank straight away.
The company have offered me £80 as a gesture of goodwill without admission of responsibility which I have accepted. Hoults now have my bank details, I have been informed that the money will be in my account in 14-21 days! Wonderful customer service ! You just have to laugh.
