Why buy from us

Many of our cars are presented for sale with the remainder of the manufacturer warranty. In all cases, the warranty will be for a minimum of 12 months from the point at which you buy the car giving you peace of mind in the first year of motoring. We will always explain how this warranty can be extended to provide cover for longer periods of ownership.

My new car horror story …


I recently bought a 75 plate Citroen EC3 from Howards Taunton dealership. Initial collection of my car in September was delayed due to a recall due to brake issues. This was dealt with by Howards- my car being ready for collection in early October. Within 3 weeks I noticed water in the car footwells. The car was taken back to Howards for assessment of the problem. We were advised that water had been channelled into the car as a pipe had not been connected during the pre collection work! Howards report that they have fixed the problem and dried the carpets. Howards have told me that the car is ready for collection and that I can have 2 years free servicing ( am already paying for servicing!) I am declining this offer completely as I wanted to have the reassurance of car reliability, as well as enjoying the new car buzz: this has not happened!
I had used my retirement lump sum to buy this car and feel very disappointed to be told that the Consumer Rights Act only requires Howards to repair the issue and dry the carpets. I could have bought a water damaged car far cheaper than what I’ve ended up with. Please be aware that this damage has been caused within the dealership and prior to initial pick up.
I believe the Consumer Rights Act states that goods should be of: “ satisfactory quality fit for purpose and as described” and “services are performed with reasonable care”. My EC3 was not fit for purpose when I collected- it became water damaged and I am concerned that there may be long term implications from this happening. So- be very wary buying from Howards Citroen!

Awful chat function

Used the online chat function and 'spoke' to someone called Isabelle. Generic replies that made no sense because they hadn't read my simple request. This was my first interaction with Howards group and it will be my last unfortunately purely because of this chat

Extremely disappointed we have been…

Extremely disappointed we have been trying to contact Howard’s At Taunton today for hours NO extension been answered. Only received a letter from Citroen on sat ref air bag recall !!!!!! If this is their customer service don’t bother buying from them . Bad #customer #service #howards#Taunton#

Avoid Howards Kia Taunton unless you…

Avoid Howards Kia Taunton unless you feel 5 months is an appropriate wait time for a warranty repair.
Not impressed with the standard of service, the parts delays or the reliability of the car. We won't be buying Kia again.

New found trust in garages

Recently brought a car from howards and the customer service was the best iv experienced .
I always had really bad experiences with garages so was very hesitate in choosing which one to go with but they have shown me some are trustworthy.
Iv also never brought a car online ,
this was a first for me but the
reinsurance and continued contact made it a breeze , the staff go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable and answer any questions simply.

I discussed my sale with one of the sales staff, Tony. He was very polite and offered constructive. I visited the showroom on 28th May and was given a warm welcome by Tony. He was forthright during our discussion without being patronising. I was happy to sell my precious Ignis and Tony arranged for the money to be paid into my account the same day.

Really excellent support from several staff.

The staff and management have been really excellent with regards to replacing a new car which had a fault from the very start (no fault of the garage whatsoever). The car (a French DS DS3) was delivered with a software fault that they tried numerous times to solve. It resulted in a national recall as the software was not fully compliant with UK law.
They allowed the return of the car after a couple of months usage at very little cost to us and ordered a new replacement which was absolutely perfect. They even gave us a loan car (brand new) for almost 2 months whilst awaiting delivery of the new vehicle. Mike, Rob, Brad and other staff were really excellent.
Great quality service. Thank you.
