Absolutely love my book subscription, it’s the best thing I’ve bought in a while. The concept is brilliant and the people at How Novel are always so quick to answer my questions. Couldn’t recommend enough!

I love how your able to choose a book that you know you'll love whilst still being able to discover a new author or genre, without any influence from seeing the book.

Lovely idea for a book subscription, as you don't know what you are going to get but you have the chance to pick something that you think you might like. I have enjoyed being introduced to a range of authors and it has been great to chat to friends and family to compare notes once we have read the books.
The penpal idea is a great extra touch as you have that communication each month. I always look forward to the parcel arriving and seeing what I have selected.
Once, when I had already read the book, I sent it back and 2 were sent the next time, no dramas!

With the addition of having a PenPal, HowNovel is a truly amazing, wholesome service that has got me so excited for every month to come along so I can escape in a new book and have someone to discuss it with! Love it!

I have had no problems with How Novel. The books are always in excellent condition and on time. The staff are polite, friendly and efficient. With the pen pal aspect a nice little touch to the whole experience. The process of choosing your next book is very straightforward. The books may not always be to your liking but thats impossible to avoid when choosing a mystery service. The point is to try new things. A lovely service overall. Would recommend!

I absolutely love the How Novel book subscription. It is always a great surprise and the hand-drawn paper on the books make your choice really personal and unique. I've used a fair few different book subscription services as of writing this and How Novel is certainly one of the better ones I've used thus far. Whether it's the way you choose your books, and the range of the choices, to the interaction with the people involved at the HN team. Whether as a simple inquiry or with your pen pal. So hopefully if your looking to give them a shot, I trust you won't be disappointed.

I love How Novel; its such a wonderful way to discover new books and try different genres. It's brilliantly organised by a fabulous team and I love receiving a penpal letter every month. I’m so glad I discovered How Novel, I subscribe to 2 mystery books per month and I’m never disappointed. The website is easy to navigate and the How Novel team are so kind and helpful, the addition of a pen pal makes the experience so much better! Worthy of all 5 stars, amazing!

Honestly HowNovel is such an excellent company! Their mystery books are so well thought out and really fun to receive. Customer support when I’ve ever had a question are always really helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend!

I absolutely adore this company. I’ve had nothing but a perfect experience from day one and now on box 9 with them. I absolutely love the pen pal. And we discuss everything from books to life and just keeping the art of penmanship alive is something I love. I love the fact as well if you get a book you already have you can choose another. The whole team at how novel are amazing and the price is perfect.

I’ve been using how novel for a mystery book subscription for nearly a year now. I’ve enjoyed trying new books I wouldn’t normally pick off of a shelf. Packaging is excellent and Staff are always very helpful when I need to contact them.

Love How Novel, it’s a great little treat each month and a great idea to have ‘Pen Pals’. It’s something I look forward to each month and I’ve never had any issues, all the staff seem very friendly and willing to help.

Poor customer service. I signed up for the mystery book subscription - they "forgot" to send me a book the first month, then said I'd had to wait another month to receive the next book. I opted for a refund instead which took weeks to sort out.I had to send half a dozen emails/messages until I even got a response from their team. My advice would be to sign up with another service.

I signed up for 3 different book companies during last lockdown as I love to read. I liked the all but How Novel is my favourite so far. I had my first book delivery last month and it was beautifully presented. I especially loved the pretty illustrations on the cover and couldn't wait to found out my mystery book. It was a book I would have chosen in a shop exactly so I was very happy. I am definitely continuing with How novel so now as I am back to work again from April I have something to look forward to oh and forgot to mention about the pen pal I got to discuss my book and life too. Brilliant idea. Highly recommend.
