My first box got swallowed up in the Brexit mess but they were AMAZING in helping me out. The box eventually showed up but if it didn't I was promised the books in the next box.

I really love the packaging and the overall experience in helping me out. 10/10 !

Accommodating and Helpful

I'm an avid reader and love the whole idea behind the theme of HowNovel. Their prices are better than similar sites, the setup is easy and looks great. I did have the wrong book sent in my box but Ben on the customer service team could not have been more apologetic or helpful and sorted it out straight away. I couldn't be happier

The mystery book is an excellent idea for avid readers who want to be introduced to a book they may not usually pick out themselves. The book club builds on this to provide wonderful discussions and laughs! An absolute gem of a company!

I joined last year during the first lockdown and would highly recommend. It's great to receive a surprise book and talk about it with fellow readers. The monthly chat is a lot of fun, even if we haven't all enjoyed the book! Definitely helped expose me to different genres and meet new people at the same time

How novel are a great team and the experience as a customer has been nothing short of excellent.

I joined the How Novel book club last year, and it’s great! There is a real excitement around voting for which book we will read next, and then waiting for it to arrive in the post. I also go to the monthly video chat to discuss the book each month and I really enjoy it. Ben and Nicole are very welcoming and inclusive, and it is always a lively and fun discussion - which is much needed, especially in these troubled times. In general, the team are lovely, friendly and super-helpful, and I would have no hesitation in recommending How Novel!

I have just received my 1st box and it is beautiful!!!!!!! The package was exactly as described, and the tag and note card were so personal and handwritten. It was so lovely pulling open the string and seeing what book was inside - I cannot wait to get reading. I'm also excited to write back to my new penpal. Best subscription I could ever pay for. I would definitely recommend- thankyou so much!!!!

I have had this mystery book subscription with my lovely penpal for a good number of months now and i have loved every single book and the penpal element is so lovely and special.
I recently have had to cut back for finances and cancelled my subscription for no other reason than money but i was so sad when my book and note arrived and i knew i wouldn't get another one, i emailed straight away to reinstate it.
I'm so glad i did - these books are doing so much for my self care and mental health and its so exciting to see what book you get. The customer service is so fast to respond and so kind and address any issues you have. Its so refreshing to have such a wonderful parcel arrive every month and know that behind it is a very thoughtful, caring and dedicated team of people.

I was gifted a 3 month subscription for Xmas. Book arrived today - bears no resemblance to the genre I chose - When I complained there was no attempt to redress or offer an appropriate replacement - I was told it was a mystery.

How Novel have the most wonderful and responsive team. They were the greatest of help, answering my many questions, particularly as I was getting a gift for someone who is difficult to buy for! Thank you so much to How Novel for such a perfect gift idea.

I would give them zero stars for customer service if I could. Their website is beyond horrible and sent the billing information to the recipient of the Christmas gift, thus ruining a Christmas surprise. The worst thing? The company tried to blame me for the problem and did not refund the money. I sent a screenshot of the confirmation which showed my email under the shipping details and they still refused to apologize or admit it was a glitch in their website. I do not know anything about the product, but I am appalled by their adamant refusal to admit there was a problem. They said they would cancel the order and refund me, but this was after their system had sent a bill to the intended recipient. It is an unnecessary stress and horrible to see this from a small business, which should care more than a big corporation. After going several times back and forth, the manager just stopped responding to my chats (because this is the only way to interact with them. No phone numbers or emails.)
Disappointed does not even begin to explain it. I kept the order because the recipient will hopefully enjoy it, but be warned. This is not a pleasant or easy experience if you have issues.

I've received a range of books that I would never have normally selected but have thoroughly enjoyed. This subscription has given me the opportunity to broaden my mind when it comes to books and I have been transported through some entertaining stories. The books are delivered quickly and every time I receive one it feels like a special treat, I look forward to it every month!

Books always come on time and you are told when they have been shipped out.

I have been with how novel since they launched and absolutely love my monthly mystery book. Each book comes beautifully packaged with a lovely bookmark. I have loved every book I have received. I did receive one I had already read and they happily sent me a different one. They also answer any questions or queries really quickly.
