Brian was very helpful pointed to the chair that would support my back and neck. When I sat down, he immediately checked my back ensuring it’s in the right position, he even told me to try other chairs to compare, he was a spot on with the first chair I sat on. The chair arrived yesterday (2nd Feb), I’m so delighted with it. Thank you Brian for your support, even the staff there are very friendly and welcoming.

Brian was absolutely fantastic, went above and beyond to help us, changing materials, changing colours to ensure what we were buying was exactly what we wanted.

Would never have thought about looking at HSL but as we were after stressless type chairs they came up as being closest stockists. So glad we did as the service and choice was amazing. From moment we entered until we ,eft the atmosphere was warm and friendly. Patricia who took care of us was so knowledgeable, wasn’t pushy at all and so friendly. She made sure we got the right chair for our needs and use . We left as two very happy satisfied customers. Would highly recommend them.

Very pleasant visit from HSL chairs today, treated with respect. Their help and advice helped me make my final choice of chair and choice of fabric. I look forward to delivery of my chair in a few weeks time.

Visit to Southampton store was a positive experience thanks to Lydia the staff member who assisted us.
Achieved our objective to find a chair for my wife, who has mobility issues.

We were greeted quickly at the Hedge End branch in Southampton and the assistant, Beth, asked what type of chair I was looking for and after a quick conversation suggested a chair and took my wife and I to try it. Beth took my coat and offered us tea or coffee before we started, she then went through all the dos and don'ts of the right seating position for my condition. Once it was decided the chair was suitable Beth showed us fabrics, chair leg styles and wood colours so we could choose.
The Transaction was easy.
On our way home we reconsidered the fabric choice and the next day we rang the shop and explained we would like to change the fabric and this was done without any fuss or bother all they needed was the order number and which fabric you wished to change it to. Overall a good experience and Beth was polite, helpful and friendly.

We met Beth back in 2025 just browsing for a bed sofa and a recliner sofa she was most helpful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble and she didn’t try persuading us to buy this or that. We came back today and she remembered us making us feel most welcome. We purchased our 2 sofas which she made so easy for us. Would definitely use HSL again

We were visited at our home by Leon and Stuart from the Southampton showroom and not immediately encouraged as Liam confessed he knew little about beds but knew chairs, and we were ordering both. Stuart was great with measuring for width and height for the bed. Confusion reigned over whether we had ordered an adjustable (we did) or profiling bed (we should have for my partner but this was not HSL's fault, although we were not informed there was a difference by either Liam or the Southampton shop manager, Maria). When it arrived, the guys from DX working for HSL, put it together but cross-threaded one screw holding the headboard to the base thereby damaging the base material (fortunately unseen when the bed was in place). Confusion also reigned over the payment for the bed as the order was in my partner's name but I paid with my credit card. I got to speak with Brian at Southampton on a number of occasions about this! We initially rejected the bed as it did not do what we felt we were sold it did and requested a refund, which was agreed. However, we went with another company (which were much, much worse) and decided for the foreseeable to keep the HSL bed.

Ellie was very friendly and helpful when I visited the Southampton store looking for a lounge chair, and she was able to suggest a chair that met my needs. She gave me plenty of time to try out the chair and was able to provide fabric samples for me to take away. Beth was also very helpful when I returned to confirm my fabric choice and order 2 chairs. This is the fourth time I have purchased furniture from HSL and I have always received excellent service.

Jason and Ashley changed over 2 sofas so that the chair would fit and did an excellent job.

Received HSL Double bed, overall however there are some small items that could be improved:

First on install, i was asked which side I would like the wired remote. I selected left hand side. However it quickly became apparent that given the mechanism was on right of bed that the given cable was too short, it is approximately 60cm on either side of coiled section of about 30cm, totalling 150cm (not sure of stretched uncoiled length), thus too short. Pulling cable etc.. coiled section simply gets caught up and whilst one could attach it to side of bed one could not pull it up and use it whilst in bed.

Hence whist not ideal I rerouted remote to other side, then called HSL customer service and eventually got extension, which i have now installed as desired.
I would recommend HSL either supply extension with bed or give installers stock in their truck. Furthermore I would preinstall cable clips to make such an installation easier.

Secondly there was no HSL instruction supplied with bed, there was Hypnos instruction regarding mattress care. Customer service did supply sone online documentation, that duplicated that of Hypnos. However nothing mentioned two items that i feel should be documented:

1) there are two 9V batteries connected to mechanism, these are to allow user to recline bed in eventuality of power cut. This is similar to chairs (which is mentioned in online documentation

2) there are sliders on central slats to adjust firmness, on either side of bed, this is not documented at all, but may well be useful to some.

Michael the demonstrator knew what he was talking about, and was up to speed with the product.

This was a home assessment. Very helpful and knowledgeable about my needs. Patient and thorough and made sure I was comfortable. Valentine and Mike worked well together and explored all the options ready for the delivery.

All staff but especially Beth was patient, cheerful and knowledgeable about the product, in this visit, a recliner chair. We were given time to decide on ‘best fit’ and consider our personal budget - not rushed into a purchase. Wonderful feeling on leaving the showroom, Beth’s professionalism reassured us our decision had been the right one. Thank you Beth.

I visited HSL at Hedge End last week and purchased a Reclining chair. I found the whole experience excellent. Brian served us, and he could not do enough for us. He explained all the different types of chairs, and I sat in most until I found the right one. Brian explained all the extras I could have and the cost. I cannot wait for my chair to be delivered as it will be assembled by the staff, and all the operations will be explained.

Staff attentive and patient when visited the store. The chair we ordered was delivered on the date as arranged. The delivery men were polite and friendly. The chair looks well made and it is comfortable. This chair was bought to replace a recliner I didn’t really like and I am surprised how much lighter it is, in fact a couple times I thought it might tip backwards but I just need to get used to it. Extremely pleased that they still stocked the fabric that I had before ,so it matches my husbands chair.

Visited HSL Southampton/Hedge End a few times to buy adjustable bed/mattress.

Eventually with Lydia’s helped ordered on.

If there was anything to complain about, I guess it would be be price and delivery schedule, but then again it’s a premium, made to order product.

A warm friendly welcome when we walked into the store and Ellie ensured we had all options open to us. Alternatives were presented and all information available with no pressure at all.
I left the store with details of what was available to think things over.
I returned the following day hoping to see Ellie again and continue our discussion with a view to ordering the arm chair. Unfortunately it was her day off but we were helped by a friendly male assistant Brian, and eventually an order was placed. Just before everything was finalised he suddenly said “my shift is over I have to go now”. Shook our hands and left with no real explanation and left us a little stunned!
Apart from that it was a good experience and I can certainly recommend the company on their handling of customers.

Made to feel wecome, not just another customer.All questions fully answered. Coffee and biscuits most refreshing. Patrica even escorted me to my car with an umbrella, shielding me from a sharp downpour of rain.
