A lovely experience ordering a bag from Henry Tomkins. He's thoughtful, efficient and helpful, and makes everything very straightforward. I wanted a bag in a different size from the one on the website, and this was no problem at all. The bag is exactly what I ordered, and I'm really enjoying using it. Thoroughly recommend.

Henry is a craftsman and an absolute Gent to deal with. Twelve years ago I bought a full Monty briefcase from him and it still looks good today. Henry has helped me out with a couple of repairs and has done them both at a very reasonable price.

I bought both of my Sons satchels when they went away to university, These bags have been hammered but still look good. I shall be buying one for my Niece before she heads off to Uni.

Henry is an amazing craftsman whose workmanship is very skilful. He custom made the most beautiful satchel for our son's birthday. Henry allowed us to choose the leather and to customise the size and configuration of the interior compartments. The end result was an incredible bag, which will last our son throughout his university years and well beyond.

I’ve just received my second bag (a small, customised book bag) from Henry and it is just fabulous. The quality of design and manufacture is superb.
My original satchel is now 10 years old and travels around the world with me. I travel on business to remote parts of the world, with some of the most inhospitable climates imaginable and the bag is as good today as it was when new. Scuffed certainly, but no signs of wear and tear; I suspect it is a virtually indestructible product.
Henry’s customer service is great. He deals with us as individuals, not just another order. I really appreciate the way in which his creativity can solve user problems and his willingness to accommodate quirky requests.
All in all, fantastic products in terms of design, quality of manufacture and durability.

I needed a small briefcase for a young man just completing his graduate management training program and ready to start his career in sales at a five star hotel in Kathmandu. He is very special to me; he adopted me as his 'mom' on my first visit to Nepal when he was just eleven. I was able to bring him to the UK to study for A levels and an honours degree. Unfortunately he was not allowed to remain and work in the UK, but I had the joy of his company for six years. I wanted a bag that would stay with him throughout his working life, and I found the perfect one in Henry's 'briefcase light'. Ordering was easy, I was able to choose options to make the bag unique for my young man, and Henry kept me well informed of the progress of the work. When I received the bag, it was perfect--strong, beautiful, and showing the craftsman's love of his work in every detail. The leather is thick and beautifully finished, the bag itself is a work of art--no cheap fabric linings or flimsy metal fittings; it is leather through and through, with heavy brass accents. It is a bag that my lad will be very proud to carry, For such premium quality, the price is more than fair, and the whole experience of buying the briefcase was pure pleasure. One young man who has not had a lot of luxury in his life will treasure it, and it will represent him well in the meticulous aura of the five star hotel he is working for. Thank you, Henry Tomkins!

Buying a bag from Henry was a great experience, he was able to accommodate my bespoke requirements, stay within budget and produce a bag which is really high quality and I'm thrilled with. Many years ago I purchased a Henry Tompkins leather bag, and it is the only bag I have used in some 15 odd years, however it needed a little bit of repair, which Henry was pleased to do. I also decided at the same time that I would like another bag made exactly the same as my old one, and Henry was more than happy to oblige. He was extremely helpful and there was excellent communication. The new bag is even better than the old one. I think Henry's bags are the best and you won't be disappointed if you purchase one.

I bought a large satchel with all the options available with the upgraded latigo leather. It’s a beautifully made bag and one I have enjoyed using. I imagine it will patina very nicely with time. Henry was very friendly and helpful and I can recommend him whole heartedly.

What more can be said about this superb leather worker? He has just repaired the zip on my (Tomkin) bag, which I broke through overloading, free of charge. The bag is a work of art and has been my constant companion for many years. Friends have called it a variety of things, 'a dead deer', 'a giant scrotum', 'a man bag' and so on but it seems alive, I love it......

Henry means it when he says he builds his bags to last a lifetime. He has just replaced the zip in a bag I bought in 1998. It is wonderful to find a true craftsman who will do repairs. I have several of his bags and they are all lovely, beautifully made, practical and often admired. It is great in the throwaway society to find something enduring.

I had a briefcase made by Henry, as a gift from my wife for my 60th Birthday and can honestly say it is beautifully made and a joy to behold. To buy a product that has been made with such care is a true pleasure, Thank You Henry.

After purchasing and returning several large bags I found the Htleather web page. I purchased the extra large Tote bag and have to say I’m very happy with it. The price was a fraction of what I’d paid for some of the bags I returned. The quality is amazing. The whole experience of buying from this company was positive. I’m now deciding the design for a bespoke bag.
