Do not claim you were any good and try to justify the 9 month no chain sale and poor contact. and do not claim I was never a client as i’m still waiting on my land registry certificate (i’ve been waiting a month)….just do better

Me and my partner are first time buyers. I have always been told that buying and selling properties is a long and stressful process and the team here at Hutchins and co made absolutely sure of that. We have just purchased our first no chain flat that has been empty for 2 years which you’d think would be quite simple and quick. When we instructed our solicitor at hutchins and co back in October we were expecting to be close to moving in around the new year. When it got to the new year we hoped for early spring, when it got to early spring we hoped for late spring. When it got to late spring we hoped for the summer. When it got to the summer we found out our mortgage offer was about to expire. Only then did they decide to actually complete our sale. 9 whole months for a no chain sale. Overall, we went through 4 solicitors. For the first couple of weeks they replied regularly and then would go weeks to even months with no contact or responses to our emails. After I would send complaints and endless emails and endless phone calls. They would eventually reply and say a new solicitor has been assigned our case. This process would repeat over and over again. Don’t bother calling them when there’s no response to emails. You’ll get told by the receptionist that your solicitor is busy, or not in today or my personal favourite excuse was “he’s just come back from his lunch break and doesn’t want any calls right now”. I had only been waiting 8 months at this point but of course take your time I know a lunch break can be exhausting. To be honest I could go on forever with how horrific the service is at this firm. So to rap it up. If you want your house sale or purchase to take nearly a year for no chain (only god knows how long it would take if you had a chain) then I highly recommend these solicitors. However, if you want a quick smooth sale with competent solicitors who actually reply to your emails and phone calls and get on with the work you’re paying them to do, then go quite literally anywhere else. And don’t make the mistake I did and fall for any of the good reviews. Listen to the negative ones i’m pretty sure the good ones are fakes!

Ivory did a top job during my conveyancing process - she had a keen eye for detail and showed resillience and aptitude. She was always happy to lend her hand even outside office hours and was very easy and pleasant to work with during the transaction despite setbacks in the process!

Absolutely disgraceful experience. It took me six months to finally exchange contracts. I almost lost my buyer due to these solicitors’ complete disregard for my case. Their solicitors and paralegal teams are very weak and showed absolutely no interest in moving things forward. I had to chase the owner, who is extremely arrogant and demonstrated zero interest in helping. I definitely DO NOT recommend!!!
