Instacart Shoppers at Omaha Hyvee#10 Watched Like a Hawk
If you're an Instacart Shopper at this 156th and West Maple Road store #10 Hy-Vee in Omaha, Nebraska, you may be treated like a suspicious criminal.
Sometimes security or an off-duty police officer will stand watch over you - which is quite demeaning, unprofessional and downright rude - certainly at the direction of bad management.
Store#10 Hy-Vee management seems to forget, or more likely never cared a darn, that the Instacart Shopper, who underwent a criminal background check which is regularly repeated - is a key factor in Hy-Vee's profitability!
Still, despite the third party contractor's integral profit-making role for the store, having officers or security watch an IC Shopper at checkout and sometimes throughout the store - demonstrates Management's view that third party grocery shoppers / deliverers do not deserve trust, respect or dignity, in my humble opinion.
Management there received a formal complaint regarding this matter of concern! It's on the record.

Went to 90th and West Center Road tried to pick up some pop no clerks at the counter to check you out and self-surface was shut down they had Starbucks running the show what a joke I had to go to them to buy the groceries and then I didn't buy them cuz they were rude I wouldn't go there again for nothing
Top Dollar for Subpar
Paid top dollar for sweet corn that was NOT sweet. Overpriced is one thing. Might have almost been worth it had it been GOOD corn. Now it isn't the stores fault that our food supply is lacking in nutrients and taste. But it is their fault for expecting top dollar for subpar.
WIPES
I live in a 72 unit Townhouse Association in West Des Moines near the Hy-Vee on Grand Avenue. This store NEVER has wipes available in the cart entrance. About a week ago I asked an assistant manager why they don’t provide wipes like the other Hy-vee stores. He simply replied that he would make sure they filled the container. I advised him that the 51st store would be my new store if there were no wipes the next time I was there. Many people in our association feel this way. I was there today and still there are no wipes. I guess they haven’t heard Covid is back. I frequently stop at the Hy-vee on 51st Street in West Des Moines and they ALWAYS have wipes available.
Rude employees
I was at the hy-vee on stony brook in millard. When I was checking out and two employees one works up front and TBE other delivers groceries. All they complained about was how people are not tipping in this hot weather. The lady that delivers even went on to say she blocks people that don't tip her good or that are rude to her. That person doesn't know what that person is going through and what she can afford to tip. If your going to complain don't do it around paying customers in your store they don't want to hear about it. Very rude

TO HYVEE: DISABLED PEOPLE DESERVE RESPECT AND UNDERSTANDING.
Although I don’t have first-hand knowledge of the situation, I would like to know what Hy-Vee has to say about Deb Gerch’s firing of a Severely Intellectually Disabled dish washer employee named Anthony Richart at their 9707 Q Street location in Omaha NE. Based on what I have read, I would suggest a management shakeup for this HyVee location and that Anthony receive an apology and be rehired at a different location with a 50% pay raise under a properly trained manager.
I also see that Merry Christine has a FB post in regards to similar bad management involving a disabled employee at the Omaha 79th and Cass HyVee location.
Although I ate at the HyVee Stonybrook location this morning, I don’t anticipate that I will be back to another HyVee until I hear something from the HyVee management.

Their subpar managers are brutal towards employees, verbally abusive, and violate labor laws as well as ADA laws. They also pay minimum wage. Not to mention their prices overall are RIDICULOUS. Shop elsewhere and parents? Don’t allow your children to work here - this is NOT an environment you want them to learn what a REAL job is like.
Significantly higher prices for the…
Significantly higher prices for the exact same items available at local Family Fare and Kroger stores. Ordered 26 items via the Aisles Online app for delivery. In the hour prior to delivery I received many texts for out of stock and substituted items. Of the 26 items ordered only 15 had substitutes. Definitely not the best choice for groceries considering prices and availability.

They hide popular items to force you to traverse the entire store. All the employees are on vacation it seems, but still coming to work. They take their sweet time, stopping to chat constantly to their friends, and they must have a low bar for aptitude. Even the staff doesn’t know where anything is. God forbid you grab something not wrapped properly (don’t pick up their meat with bare hands) and need a towel to wipe your hands off…they can’t oblige. Stay away!

I ordered two of the sweet and sour chicken.
It was 4:10 pm and the tray with the chicken was full, so I thought it would be fresh. Not to be.
I brought them home and it was the worst meal I have ever had. The chicken was dry, tough and tasteless.
I won't even be able to eat the other one.
If I could give less than one star, that is what this deserves.
This was the store on West Locust in Davenport, Ia.
Hy-vee’s Online ordering Service is a scam
I tried to place an order through hy-vee’s "Online aisle” service so I created an account but it didn't ask for my address. Nor did ask for my phone number. So when I went to buy what appeared to be a very good price on Demings 14.75 ounce canned salmon and entered all of the information that includes my name, my street address, my state, ZIP Code etc. A red flag appeared saying that I had already enter that information in my account. So “what the heck does that mean” I asked myself. That red flag was stopping me from continuing to the next step which was to provide my card number, etc. But I couldn't go any further. This was incredibly frustrating and after several more unsuccessful tries I just became angry and decided to say the heck with this company which is based in Iowa -only a couple hundred miles from where I live in Minnesota. What a disgrace. I took screenshots of all of the ridiculous flags that came up just in case I need them. This is a very unreputable company. To make matters worse I learned that the good price on this particular canned food does not include the delivery cost which turns out to be more than the cost of the food item. Shame shame on this company. 🤬

Horribly high prices in Sioux Falls store. Everything overpriced. We have become regulars at ALDIs as a result. EVERYTHING CHEAPER AT ALDIS. MOST NOTABLY MILK AND PRODUCE.

Everytime I go here and shop inside I am overcharged... Today I couldn't find the sale items..I went out of my way due to construction but I am done sales aren't great if I am over charged.
Delivers rotten produce
Their delivery service consistently delivers produce/perishables on the nearest possible date. I've spent about $40 so far in premade salads that have arrived inedible. Incredibly disappointed. They messed up and included one with a 4/20 date with the rest that were 4/13 (the night, and I mean night, of delivery) so obviously they have better dates. Shopping in person, I never had a problem getting good dates.
I wish I could give zero stars
I wish I could give zero stars. Every time I go to this store on Rockingham, something is charged wrong on the receipt. They do not care. It’s hard to even keep track on the receipt because if they do happen to give you sale price, it’s taken off at the bottom of the receipt. Been shopping here since 2006 but no more. Good riddance 78% for getting 1 star speaks for itself
They do not stand behind the store rain…
They do not stand behind the store rain checks. Evan in the Robinsdale store would not honor the quantity that was on my rain check. Poor customer service!
they said the chicken was not old
they said the chicken was not old trying to hold back my anger but it tasted bad worse then casserole it was a few hours old must admit I'm little angry but the food was cold stony brook so horribly bad 👎 so cold chicken was stale this might be a reason I will never go back and the employee said they just made it nope you didn't it tasted like it was on a heating lamp all day
Watch what meat your buying!
Hyvee has commercials that says, 5 cows in 100 make the grade for their meat counters. What they have failed to tell you, is that the self service meat counter only has select beef in it. Select beef is the lowest grade beef you can purchase. They charge CHOICE prices for select beef. If you don't know any better, you don't know anybetter! They keep the choice meat in the service counter, at prices compared to prime! Don't be ripped off! So I say bs to 5 cows in a 100 only make it the shelves. What did they do to the other 95 throw them out? You can't look at a cow and tell if it's choice or not! Plus if I want a job checking out groceries I would apply for one.
I was looking for a bone in prime rib
I was looking for a bone in prime rib. I asked at the meat counter and the gentleman said they didn't have it but it possibly would come in tomorrow. He said he did have boneless prime rib. I said I would think about it. I came back to get it and he was not there. I asked a different person for the boneless prime rib. I told him that I was told that they had it in back. I said I was looking for about 4 pounds. He reluctantly went in the back and brought out a 14 pound prime rib. I said that I assumed he would cut it. He said no, you need to take the whole thing. I told him that there was no way that I could use 14 pounds. He said OK. This is one of many disappointment with Hy Vee lately. I probably will not go back!!! My wife and I only shopped at Hy Vee in Sioux Falls. This is the store on West Circle Drive in Rochester Minnesota. However, we have had disappointments at another location in Rochester.
What ever happened to a friendly smile in every aisle. If this is COVID related, I'm tired of that being an excuse!!!
My wife made pancakes this morning…
My wife made pancakes this morning using HyVee house brand Baking Powder. She could not find her preferred brand. There must have been lumps in the powder because when eating there would occur a strong bitter taste. My wife had checked for lumps because this has occured before. Never had that problem with my other brand. This has happened before with this baking power but we just got upset enough to complain now.
