I am an expat and obviously have some confusions and problems in buying a house. I was first referred to Hypotheekrente from one of the makelaar that I met during house viewing.

Renate Meulensteen as advisor was really helpful since day one. Everything about the mortgage itself has been really clear. She even helped with the price indication that I should bid on the house that I finally bought. There was some post bidding confusion as well as I had no idea on what should be prepared, Renate remains calm and composed which still guided us through until the delivery date.

For me as an expat, I would suggest that as a financial advisor, as part of buying the house, apart from the mortgage application, it would be really helpful if expat buyers can get a timeline and lists of what should be prepared with the house. I.e, the notary, taxatie, I think if I had been given a clearer timeline on what should be done since the bid has been accepted, this would have been really helpful. Although at the end of the day, I still could get a cheap valuator and notary with a great service.
