They are only here for the money
They are only here for the money. Don't care about the drivers or renters. Owners are at renters mercy for unpaid tickets and toll. Good luck getting your tickets paid for when the renter is done. Also good luck getting insurance to cover items. They will indicate it it's regular wear and tear even though you can tell the renter blatantly damaged it.Also renters have issues with apps. Customer service is good but the company policies are trash.

Renters Traffic Ticket is a big issue
As an owner of a car, I have experience with renters getting several traffic violations tickets each time they rent my car and I found out that there is no easy way to make them pay for the tickets. The Hyrecar team literally do nothing to help!.
Worst car hiring experience
Worst car hiring experience. They don’t hold the car owners accountable for random cancellation. I had 2 appointments canceled back to back for stupid reasons and this wasted my time and money.
First cancellation:
I took an Uber from my house to pickup location $24 and when I arrived there the vehicle was different from the one on the paperwork. Hyrecar asked the owner to switch the vehicles on the app and he claimed the app wasnt working on his end. This seemed shady to me. He abruptly canceled my reservation, meaning I had to get another Uber going back home , another $24. So I lost $48 and wasted my freaking time.
Hyrecar said ther was nothing they could do.
This same owner has done a switch before
Second cancellation:
Got approved the night before and was ready to go pickup next morning.
called the owner 3 times and messaged him 2 times and for him to cancel coz he said the vehicle not upto standard.
In both cases I haven’t gotten my refunds back.
Please people , hire your car elsewhere!

The worst rental group ever
The worst rental group ever. Please someone do it better. I hope someone comes along and improves this idea. I wasn't in my rental for 1 hour and the vehicle went hot and shut off in the middle of traffic. I waited with the car for 3 hours and eventually had to leave because the owners mechanic took too long. Hyre car needs a better system where Hyre tows car at owners expense. Now because the rental is still in place can't get another car from someone else. Please be careful test the car before leaving and make sure the owner or someone is present. Ridiculous! What a lose today. Apparently there wasn't enough coolant in the vehicle. Isn't that basic maintenance?

Save your money and time and stay away from Hyre Car. I am a driver that rents a car for a ride share company. I applied to Hyre to save money on rental and didn't pass their background check. As I mentioned I already rent and drive for a ride share and when I called customer service, Hyre would not explain why I didn't pass their background check. I'm currently a TWIC holder, Military clearance, and drive professionally for both a ride share and commercial. Don't waste your time with Hyre, you deserve better. I told customer service it is their Loss and too good for my business

I rented a car to use for Lyft and Uber as soon as I uploaded the documents given to me both my accounts where deactivated because they said the documents where fraudulent.

If I could leave a zero star I would. I'm in contact with an attorney and doing a press release on Hyrecar. It has been over 2 months and my car has not been fixed. Renter was in an accident that was not hey fault and it took a month before I was given a quote, I then had my car towed to body shop and it has been there 3 weeks and I have not received the check from hyrecar, they emailed me and said I'm in the queue to have the check mailed to me and body shop can not order parts or anything until I receive the check. I'm scared the body shop is going to start charging me a storage fee. My car was wrecked February 13, 2024 abd today is April 16, 2024 and my car is sitting wrecked. Hyrecar need to be shutdown. Do not rent your vehicles out. The insurance the renter had was no good but I had full coverage through Hyrecar and I am getting the run around. I still be sure I let owners know about Hyrecars horrible customer service and business.

Went to jail
I was driving a rental from hyrecar and got pulled over from tag reader.was informed there was no insurance on the car. Spent night in jail. Awful. So double check with police department before driving one their cars.

The car I had been renting for two months got repossessed. The owner was not paying the car note and a tow truck came to my job and towed the car after I have spent 5,000+ on it. HyreCar has been very slow with responding.

The experience was awful.overpriced. Broke down multiple times which made me lose $. Customer service is veered toward owners and the renters can’t even review the owners for others to see. I would not recommend hyrecar. Lost $.

2 of my cars were totaled in a 6 month…
2 of my cars were totaled in a 6 month period. They do not vet the drivers. It took me over 6 weeks to get paid on the first claim and I’m still waiting 8 weeks now to get paid on the second. I have contacted consumer affairs and filed a claim against the company. I don’t think it’s worth the headache!

Got into an NOT at fault accident with proof but still got banned from their platform
Everything was fine until someone in Chicago scratched my front right fender while trying to overpass me on the right using the parking shoulder…, obviously NOT my fault as Zip’s even had the incident on camera which was provided the Hyre car accident department;
Well, the requested me to return the car to the owner,then blocked me from renting another car until the investigation is completed, that took over 6 months, claim adjusted called me once & left a message which I tried to call her back but adjusters are usually barely available on the phone; never heard from her again or anyone about this; I called several times, was always told to wait, wait wait.
Finally after a year or so, I was found I guess guilty of the accident since I was asked to pay $1000 to Hyre car… They actually charged it to my credit card which I disputed & got it back.
I asked Hyre car how they came to me been at fault but never received an explanation.
We’re just there for themselves just like many of these companies,Uber etc..I guess that banned for life from their platform.
I was a repeated renter was previous good record. So know you know what could potentially happen to you as well.
