We were recommended to Iconic Interiors by a friend who had a good experience. We carefully selected an Eames Chair and a Tulip side table and compared them to other suppliers. The prices were slightly above some retailers but below others and without seeing the product it is hard to judge. We feel we made a good choice. Mark was easy to speak to, and helpful both by phone and e mail. The delivery was arranged and was on time with a helpful driver and the chair and table look fantastic. We could not be happier and to be honest would not hesitate to order more furniture from the company. If only all purchases could go as smoothly as this I would be a happy man!

Mixed views on my experience with Iconic Interiors. This is a fair review based on my experience.

I wanted to purchase an Eames style lobby chair for the desk and spent a lot of time researching and looking at different companies selling replicas. Though a replica ranges from around £300, I was happy to pay a premium for a premium version. I settled on Iconic based on reviews, quality of materials and the fact the chair would be made in the UK and therefore have a shorter lead time than some of the other retailers. The ordering process online seemed quite straightforward too.

I requested swatches from the available online range which arrived in a few days. However, I found that none of the swatches matched any of the materials available online. When I queried this on 23 Aug with the owner, Mark, he said the swatches need to be updated on the website. But, that meant I couldn’t place the order on the website. This caused a 2 day delay. And the swatches have still not been updated at the time of writing this review.

After confirming I wanted to purchase the chair via email, Mark sent me the invoice with the only option of paying via bank transfer. For a number of reasons I don’t pay for goods in this way so, I asked to pay via credit card. This caused a further 1 day delay as Mark wanted to call me the next day to take payment.

After having placed the order, I found that, after a couple of weeks, I had to chase to get updates on the order. Even the day before delivery I had to chase up to find out who will be delivering and a time range of when it will arrive - which I was then informed of on the morning about 30 minutes before delivery.

After waiting patiently for this chair that I had wanted for a while, I was left disappointed. The colour didn’t match the swatch, the screws under the arms had not been screwed in properly leaving you with the feeling of bumps as you put your hand around them but, the worst thing I couldn’t live with was the finishing of the leather joinery work on the cushions (front and back).

I waited until the next day to contact Mark, because I wanted to give it a little time to see if I can live with it. But, with people pointing out these protruding joints as well, I knew this wasn’t okay for a premium replica version.

I looked at the images online again, then the video review on YouTube that Mark did with the chair to see if that was the case with those chairs - it didn’t appear to be.

I contacted Mark wanting for this to be corrected. Though Mark seemed very courteous he was very dismissive. Stating that as most of his customers are very happy with the chair he could not offer a correction or a replacement so, it can only be a refund.

I wasn’t keen to have a product from a company that didn’t seem to value customers so I accepted the refund. Mark arranged the collection very promptly without any issues.

Once the chair had been collected though, my refund had not been processed as quickly and I did have to chase again for this. I have now received a full refund.

I also found calls to the company go unanswered.

I found my customer experience not very in keeping with a retailer wanting to show it is reliable and reputable and marketing and pricing itself at the higher end of the replica industry.

I would have given my experience 1 star, but, though not easy to get hold of, Mark was never rude or aggressive about the issues and promises a no hassle refund.

Just to reiterate, my review is based on my customer journey and experience which Mark is not disputing in his response.

I would agree that the chair is very comfortable and if that were the only thing I was considering when looking for a chair than I would have been happy with the chair. But, it wasn't all I was looking for, the design and finished look were important to me at the time of purchase. The colour I would say varied more than 10% though that wasn't the main issue for me, the colour I didn't actually mind too much, it was still a nice colour - just not what I chose. It was the finishing of the joinery work on the leather which was at 4 different points (front and back) on each back cushion on the top half of the chair, the leather was overlapping, the cutting of the leather on each was at different angles, protruding out and the first thing you noticed about the chair whether looking at the front or back.

Put simply, my expectations were not met.

My reason for not being able to recommend Iconic is because when I notified Mark that my expectations had not been met due to the reasons outlined, I was met with a response that to me is not a customer friendly response, that being, most other customers are happy therefore nothing can be done about the defects other than a refund. Which is fair enough from one perspective - I get my money back but, that is not the purpose of purchasing anything especially when at times it was an arduous process.

Iconic Interiors is a brilliant company, I can’t recommend them enough. I adore my Buckskin Tan Barcelona chair. Mark was amazing. Thank you.

I'm absolutely delighted with my new Eames lounge chair and ottoman replica from Iconic Interiors that arrived today. Mark was super helpful and answered all my questions, sent me swatches of leathers (some time ago actually) and went out of his way to keep me up to date with progress of my delivery. I have to say - what a beautiful chair - I recently sat on a genuine Vitra one at Heals and honestly as far as I can tell the difference is negligible. One very, very happy customer here. If you're thinking about a replica Eames lounger I'd say don't hesitate, buy one of these, you won't be disappointed.

Mark was very helpful in helping choose an office chair and good communication in delivery. Chair is excellent quality and beautifully made. Very happy all round.

Mark helped me identify the colour I liked based upon a photo and was so helpful in answering all of my questions and keeping me informed about delivery timescales.

The chair was delivered in one piece and was very securely packaged, the quality seems high, and the comfort is amazing!

All in all an easy process and I would certainly buy more from Iconic Interiors and would thoroughly recommend them.

We’ve recently purchased two leather Eames lounge chairs and could not be happier. They’re beautiful to look at, very comfortable and incredibly stylish. We were able to look at samples before purchase and were updated regularly re dispatch and delivery. They arrived on time and are now taking pride of place in our lounge. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Iconic Interiors if you’re considering a classic piece of furniture .

After Brexit we were a bit cautious to place an order in the UK BUT Mark (owner of Iconic Interiors) helped us throughout and kept a finger on the pulse during the whole process by asking for feedback via email during the process of exporting to mainland Europe. The quality of the chairs ordered is excellent. The craftsmanship is superb and materials used of high quality. We are very happy having bought the chairs from Iconic interiors Ltd. and would not hesitate to place a future order!!

Excellent all round experience. Mark was very informative when we visited the showroom and it was useful to have the opportunity to try the various styles of chair.
The chairs were delivered the following week and extremely well packed.
