To complicated. To many errors on your end
Process that should take 10 minutes took over an hour of my time.

This is an information grab to give more power to an already abusive government. I believe my information will be sold. PLEASE the entire privacy and security information to know what you are risking when being forced to share this information with our federal government. You are giving your information away for free and possibly putting your financial security in danger. One other thing.... TRUST PILOT is also gathering your information and requires your email before you can submit

I got a new phone number and it is absolutely impossible to update your phone number with the ID mean website! There is no one that was willing to help me even tried calling the 1-800 number. I even took a picture of my driver's license and my social security card but it wouldn't let me pass a certain point and no way in hell could I change my phone number and I can't get into my account.

Recommending ID.me is easy because it replaces the hassle of in-person appointments with a streamlined digital process. The step-by-step instructions for uploading identification are clear, making a complex IRS requirement feel very manageable and secure.

I like the idea of giving my personal information with safeguards.

Complicated,not user friendly, and have to verify thru email and text too many times. Very unclear that if you already have an ID.me account with SSA, this must be done again for the IRS. Ridiculously long and complicated

I am an Army Veteran. I had not accessed my medical and other records for many months. I usually logon using DS login or MyhealtheVet-VA.gov. I found my password and username were not working. I clicked on ID.me and followed what it said to do including having it send a link to my phone. I used their link to upload a front & back photo of my drivers license so I could get verified. After that I was told to go back to my computer to complete the verification process. I was done in a few minutes and logged on with my new username (my e-mail) and my new password.

Easy process, but it’s not optional and there should be other options. Why don’t I get to see th vital information of the people collecting my information. Maybe i should see their performance reviews. I don’t trust the process how is it transparent? Why not mail me statements. This is harder and harder to feel safe as one ages when the system of verification is based on blind trust in nameless, faceless, technology, and there are no other options. Gross.

No human being. No one to help. No one cares or they would do better than this.

This whole site is probably a scam and fraudulent. DO NOT give them all your personal information- I did and I’m sorry. There’s got to be a betters way to contact the IRS.

The process was easy but I was hoping it would answer the need to know how to respond to IRS’ question of how to send bank account numbers so I could get the refund(I forgot to send direct deposit numbers in my file paper).

My mother taught me to never say something bad about something so I will say no more....

I have never been more disappointed with an identity verification service. While ID.me lets me log in and validate my information on their own website, it consistently blocks my access on every other site that uses their service (like the IRS and VA), always claiming it is "unable to validate my identity." This makes the entire process completely pointless and incredibly frustrating.
I’ve wasted hours trying to resolve this, but their support is almost non-existent. The Help Desk only lets you choose from a handful of preselected issues—none of which even come close to describing the problem I’m facing. There’s no way to get real help or speak to an actual person; only a useless chat bot. ALL Governmental Agencies and Private Companies need to stop using ID ME.

Fast easy accurate! That's all you need for dealing with sensitive documentation. I will do it again very soon! 😁

I can't even explain how frustrated I am with ID.me!! I am an independent insurance agent and I help my clients get signed up for medicare (since it is the most annoying process ever!!)! For some reason ID.me would not recognize my client's phone number (even though he has had it for over 20 years), so we had to do a video call (after the entire process of taking pictures of his driver's license and insurance card three times). When we first got on the video call it said we would have to wait 34 minutes (the time goes up and down constantly) but in all actuality it took ONE AND A HALF HOURS!!!!!

Then once we got on the call, my camera wouldn't work so she transferred it to his phone and his microphone wouldn't work. She said to go into settings and make changes and while we were doing that SHE HUNG UP!!!!

I can't even with the government!!! Making an account on the ssa.gov website it a joke!!! They have made it so difficult to make an account, it ridiculous!! And we wonder why our government is losing money!! They are wasting everyone's time by making these systems so hard!!! So, now we are meeting AGAIN to try this process over!!! I just want to SCREAM!!!! So, basically I spent two hours with my client and got NOTHING accomplished!!!!! UGH!!!!

It is a good ap. not so easy to complete, but all in all it is very useful.

I was trying to get info re tax refund. The steps for signing on thru ID.me were clear though the tasks were new to me - like the selfie. I appreciate the security but at one point feared that I might have entered a phishing site. But it all worked! And the IRS site had my info!
