Incompetence

This business is incapable of even simple tasks on time. I have registered a complaint and I am still waiting to hear the outcome. Today I received a letter apologising for the delay. It tells me a decision will be available in 3 weeks. That was a month ago . It took 4 weeks to received the letter. I live in Australia.

I had made a mistake with my tranfer…

I had made a mistake with my tranfer from another provider and was sending my SSISA to a trading account (taxable) with II, after realising my mistake, I spoke with Ruby who was very good in understanding what I had done and sorted this out for me with no issues.
I received a message to confirm our conversation too!

Customer support via secure message

To be fair the II app is pretty straightforward to use so I rarely require any customer support but made contact via secure message and was dealt with quickly and professionally by Lewis Nash.

Generally excellent, except for security issue

Generally excellent - very responsive customer support via secure messaging system, great value for larger portfolios and efficient process for SIPP/ISA transfers from other provider. But one SERIOUS SECURITY ISSUE. During the transfer process, updates are sent by regular email (not secure messaging) including full details of the portfolio. They might as well send an email entitled “rich person, rob”!

Unauthorised charges

Unauthorised charges and they opened an account in my name without my knowledge.

I was moved to ii when my old provider shut down (Jarvis). The information they sent me was confusing and the charges were hidden in the paperwork. As far as I know, I was never given the option to close my account and was forced into ii having never authorised or wanted to have an account with them.

The way I was contacted did not even allow me to understand what was going to happen properly.

So now - I've just signed into my new account today to see:
1) I've been charged a load money I never authorised for an inactive ISA account.

2) There has also been a seperate trading account created by ii in my name which I never authorised or created, and they've also billed me for it!

All for an inactive account? They're trying to steal my savings that I've worked all of my life for. I earn absolutely nothing these days and rely on savings to live, and to have it taken away from you in this manner absolutely heartbreaking.

It's disgusting greed to trust a provider with your money, your savings and be charged for the privledge? It's absolutely unbeliveable!

I've immedietly processed a transfer out form with my usual ISA provider and will NEVER be going near this corporate greed nonsense EVER again.

I've included my account number as the reference in this review.

I hope enough people read this and realise that being charged for giving a bank your money is RIDICULOUS. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.

Thank you for your feedback. We’re really sorry to read this and understand how concerning this situation must feel.

When accounts were migrated from Jarvis to interactive investor, communications were issued in advance to explain the move and the options available, including selecting another provider to transfer out to or choosing to empty and close your account with Jarvis prior to the migration. As the service with Jarvis was closing, customers who did not make a decision would have migrated by default to protect their assets. We also gave all Jarvis customers a 6-month fee-free period while they were new to the platform.

We understand that communication around our new price plans may have been confusing and appreciate your comments on this. All accounts come with a subscription fee, but please note we don’t charge extra fees for holding two accounts, such as a Trading Account and an ISA together. Both of these accounts are included under one price plan.

If you didn’t request to open the Trading Account, it was likely opened for you by our team. A common reason for this is that your ISA held shares that were no longer ISA eligible, due to delisting, for example. We will have notified you of this change by uploading a notice to your document history.

We understand you’ve made a decision to transfer out and we’ll work to ensure this goes smoothly, but we’d also like the opportunity to communicate clearly. I’ll arrange for one of our representatives to reach out to explain in more detail, so keep an eye out for our call.

We’re sorry again for the distress caused and appreciate you bringing this to our attention.

Block not removed for 5 weeks despite request for it to be removed after 1 week causing 2 requests not to be actioned for two and a half weeks during which time two emails received apologising for delay but ignoring block.
