Disappointing

After a day of waiting for the delivery, they canceled the delivery for an undisclosed reason and the rescheduling was done in 2 weeks

Don't take returns & won't offer credit note

I purchased a double mattress - was not offered the option of UK or European (for an IKEA bed frame already in situ. The only way to get a European mattress was on-line which we did, & paid for express delivery. Today we went to IKEA Wembley to return the UK mattress to be told that we could only exchange this. They do not offer credit notes & despite proving that we had yesterday had the European mattress delivered they refused to budge.
So I have a £200 mattress which is no use & IKEA will not take back (unused & wrapped up) & will not issue a credit note.

I'm not sure that this is legal????

Very Bad

Very Bad. After spending 30 mins designing the furniture, they realized dont have them in stock. Spending another 20 mins changing the colors for what they said they had. Made the order. Spent 1 month for the wardrobe to arrive. Missing all the shelves. Spent another 30 days for the shelves to arrive. Still waiting. Horrible experience. Better find another company. This is not what it used to be.

After spending an hour with a design…

After spending an hour with a design consultant. I finally had my daughters perfect wardrobe... unfortunately the lady put my postcode down wrong. After a failed delivery, the whole wardrobe was unpacked and had to be reordered. Once reordered it came back as 2 doors short!
Apparently, there are no more glass doors available at my local store. And apparently ikea won't move stock from store to store. Long story short, the doors are now discontinued. Which means my daughters wardrobe, which was designed with glass draws and lights inside, have now got to be hidden behind solid doors. Waste of money getting lights and glass draws to not show them off with glass doors. If that's not bad enough, with orientation, designed by the lady, you can't actually open the doors enough to open the draws! £1000 well spent! Not!

Purchased a storage bed the raises and lowers using 2 hydraulic arms, both arms were seized upon arrival and assembling the bed 4 phone calls with members of staff hanging up either from the support team or directly at their store in Coruña, incredibly rude and literally just hand up the phone ??? A far cry from IKEA in the UK where staff are mostly polite. Is it me or has customers services spiralled to new lows where customer journeys through pre and post sales has gone downwards. IKEA Spain to put simply is a disaster and the staff are an embarrassment to the brand and themselves! Rating extremely poor!! And they still haven’t replaced the hydraulic arms for the bed was told just go to the store and ask????

Helpful staff member

Went to Ikea Sheffield with my daughter and granddaughter. We had a lovely afternoon shopping and my daughter really enjoyed her lunch of meatballs. Stuart on the shop floor at the tills was really helpful , he arranged another member of staff to collect an item we had forgot. This was very helpful as we had a tired fretful baby to deal with and the shopping. Hope to return again for another shopping trip. Thank you Stuart

Whilst I use and like the brand since…

Whilst I use and like the brand since 1976 worldwide, the Malaga IKEA counts the worst in my book. Rude staff. Maybe 20% speak English. Disinterested. Unfriendly and self oriented. Since they've removed proper staffed tills and installed self-checkouts, the ques put additional effort on their paying customers, it all became unbearable. Same changes in the restaurant too - you need to pay first, like in McDonald, and only then see what food you bought. Nonsence. No "managers" or persons in charge of any kind present. No smiles or "Gracie" for spending lots of my money. Sad decline.

Was waiting for my kitchen

Was waiting for my kitchen, received one of two orders. I was home at all time, my phone was on at all time and they set the following error:
26/06/2024, 15:38
Intento de entrega fallido
Lamentablemente, no fue posible entregar tu pedido

I can guarantee that they didn't attempt to deliver, that is a direct lie.

Their customer service called me and said next available delivery date was 16th of July, what is that?

The reason they gave was that it was a large order (a small kitchen) I would be very surprised if they don't sell 10 of the same size every day.

They fail to deliver and put you last in que for the next delivery.

(26.6.2024 19:50): Yisneydy: pero al ser un pedido de empresas hemos dejado una incidencia para que business se comunique contigo mañana y te adelanten la fecha de entrega

(26.6.2024 19:50): Alexander Reutersward: adios

This is a joke, if I want to pick it up I have to cancel the order and make a new order.

IKEA, what a disappointment

DISASTER - The delivery people have lied to us

DISASTER & Impudence - The delivery people have lied to us and say they're almost there.
Then they tell us they can't find the address in the middle of town. After waiting 8 hours, we got an email saying that the delivery cannot be made :-(((((

The kitchen project fell through too after 6 months. They robbed us of our time!!! Some of the employees are unqualified. Horrendous price for the installation and they don't want to do it.
We will contact IKEA Sweden and share these experiences with CEO.

Talk about utter contempt for their…

Talk about utter contempt for their customers! I have spent something like £200.00 at ikea. I am a cancer patient living in a retirement village. I have had successive texts and emails from both companies asking me to collect my items. (Delivery costs are stupidly exploitative). Of the 6 items I have paid for, only 3 were accurately left at collection point. The others apparently taken back taken back to Ikea. No separate formal complaints process and live chat ended abruptly without even a discussion concerning resolution. So, Ikea have fone the barest minimum, have taken property of mine, that I have paid for in full, no further communication. I hope The Guardian takes up an investigation about the dreadful business practices of Ikea and DPD. I am not happy and I wont stop making sure my experience is heard by as many press and social media as possible.

Never trust Ikea planners in Spain

Never trust Ikea planners in Spain. I had my kitchen plan drawn up by Ikea itself. When we started installing the kitchen (my 5th Ikea kitchen) we quickly came to the conclusion that many things were wrong. The cupboard doors and doors of the built-in refrigerator did not fit together, making it impossible to install. The drawers of my kitchen island were much too large because that person had not taken the hob with built-in extractor hood into account. The dressing cupboard was as wide as the wall, which meant that the doors could not open properly because there was no clearance of 3 cm on the sides. That person was clearly still in training because he constantly had to ask someone else for a break. I understand that everyone has to learn, but not that I should have to pay for the mistakes they have made themselves. After I called Ikea 8 times to present my problem and they each promised to contact me back the same day, I only received a call 10 days later to say that Ikea was not taking care of it.
Ook Simply outrageous!!!I

We had a horrible experience with…

We had a horrible experience with TaskRabbit Company which is owned by IKEA.
Assembly & charges issues: wardrobe was badly chipped and damaged during assembly. It was not aligned against the wall which left a big gap between the wardrobe and the wall. Without telling us, the assembler cut the edge of the doorframe to be able to fit the wardrobe which caused permanent damage to the doorframe, whereas if he had flushed the side of the wardrobe with the wall, he didn’t need to cut part of the door frame. He also cut the baseboard of the wall, leaving a big ugly huge gap on the baseboard.
We had only a contract for wardrobe assembly with TaskRabbit and moving the outlet was between us and the electrician, but TaskRabbit charged us several hours for his electric work which was incomplete and not done according to DC DOB electric permit guidelines.
We would like to have proof of the huge extra charge from TaskRabbit that they indeed informed us of “Trust & Support fees” in addition to the assembly fees.
Ikea gave an assessment of 3-4 hours of assembly for a PAX wardrobe when we were purchasing the PAX wardrobe. Whereas this assembler charged us 11 hours for a complete wardrobe job, but he did not finish the job because we were still waiting for IKEA to send us the remainder of the wardrobe which included 5 hinged doors, a pull-out tray and 2 drawers. He said he would be back to finish the job free of charge, but if he had not finished the job completely, then we should not have been charged by TaskRabbit for the entire job. We found it strange that he charged us 11 hours for an unfinished job.

Were unable to complete the order but still charged us for delivery

Made a large order from IKEA.ES. After two months they cancelled the large order without explaining why and then charged us 50 euros for delivery. What nonsense. The lady on the phone said they won't refund the 50 euros as the system says they tried to deliver but when my wife asked for proof of this she couldn't provide any. They never called, never emailed, never tried to deliver. But because the system says they did they don't care and charge us for delivery anyway. There's clearly supply chain issues at IKEA. It's not normal to wait two months for a sofa cover and rug. That's fine but don't make us pay delivery when it never came. We won't use them again.

I went with a friend yesterday Feb 2024 and the checkout lady charged us twice for a single item. She never apologised and pointed for us to go to customer services. You have to get a ticket and wait your turn. We waited a good 25 minutes even though there were no other customers waiting. If we asked they were very abrupt and told us to wait. This was not our fault yet we were treated like an inconvenience. When we finally got seen the assistant had to call the check out lady to confirm the error then refunded the over charge. No apology. It took 45 mins in total. Disgusting service

A tiny kitchen takes 5 months to install

Ikea Mallorca - Start date 5 Sept 23 , Finish date 1 Feb 24.
1.6m x 2.9m - Tiny! A complete rip out by my builders, rewired & plumbed to the Ikea drawings, newly plastered walls, a blank canvas - dream job for ikea installers ( their words) Yet it has taken 5 months. and even now the extractor isn't connected, the sink isn't connected and the dishwasher isn't connected. Be aware that once the order has been paid for, communications are downhill after that. Even if you call the store - it is a call centre who will only take the details and fire off an email into the ether, they can do nothing to help you or address the problems. And Ikea subby - out measuring, installation and transport - so don't expect english speaking or any assistance from Ikea. Just don't go there ! this has cost me a fortune and a whole lot of my time and energy.

Unbelievable poor service on faulty bed

I gave 1 star as it is impossible to give zero, but that’s what they deserve. I purchased 3 beds from IKEA and used their recommended installers. One of the beds was faulty ( not damaged) this fault was a factory fault that could not be rectified and only established after the bed was almost fully built. The installer wrote in the instructions ( in Spanish) the cause of the fault and when I visited the store in Finestrat I was told a new bed would be delivered, I could also claim for the installation of the new bed and inconvenience. So I was pleased that my complaint was being dealt with. I got the IKEA staff to write there advice down on the instructions booklet with a reference number and also wrote her name for future reference. When I arranged the delivery of the bed I also asked for compensation for the new bed to be installed, as advised by IKEA staff. IKEA customer services refused to pay for installation and said that replacing the faulty bed was a “good will gesture”! In replacing the bed they needed the assembled bed to be dismantled and re-packed. I am a 66 year old woman, who is physically unable to dismantle the bed and the packaging was taken away by the installer. They will now not deliver the new bed, or give me a refund, without being able to take away the faulty bed.
What am I suppose to do??? They have trapped me into keeping a faulty bed, that potentially could be a danger to young children. I have 4 grandchildren, 2 of which are under 5, and could be hurt; but IKEA don’t care. There is no evidence of any customer service or taking responsibility for goods they sell, that are not fit for purpose. No after care, and don’t believe anything they say! I doubt I will get any response from IKEA to this review.

Delivery Ikea Spain is horror!

Delivery is horror!
First time we ordered a closet at Ikea, went first to look at the item in Alfafar, we got it on time, no complains at all!
But than……
We ordered and paid the 2nd of december online an other closet, order should be brought in at 12th of december.
The 12 i got a call from the driver to send the location were to drive to, exactly like the first time. I did send location, but than instantly i received an email from Ikea delivery failed!!
Called back the driver, he did not pick up the phone.
Called customer service, after 35 minutes i got an very friendly guy on the the phone, i explained everything, ha called the delivery company and they told the van broke down. That is precise what i thought they would tell. Next delivery would be 21th. The nice guy told me that was not acceptable and he would get an earlier day to deliver.
Whole house is up side down because we had to clear the bedroom to build the new closet.
Anyway new date became 16th, that was nice still everything done before X-mas, we are having guests over for a couple of days.
16th in the morning call from delivery driver, please send location, thats what they do when living in the campo. After sending this clever guy called back, he showed me by picture he send, that they did not ha€ the right postal code, was the one from the Ikea branch in Alfafar Valencia. We are living just 25 minutes away from that branch.
Th delivery guy told me to call ikea, the closet was again not coming in for the second time!
Again costumer service after 52 minutes waiting on the phone!
New delivery day today 21th of december.
Was not possible to give earlier delivery, ok 21th still all done before guests come in.
Got email and second today in the morning, delivery between 13.00 until 17.00 hrs.
At 17.30 hours no closet, decided to call again, after 40 min on hold got an service desk employee on the phone. Told the story, she called the delivery company, came back and stated the delivery was delayed!
Ok acceptable we wait.
Until 21.00 hrs called customer service and after record breaking time of 22 minutes i got a lady on the line!
Told the whole story, and stated that this is unacceptable, she called delivery.
Came back, no one is picking up the phone.
New date of delivery 26th. Not willing to speed up at all, resting in what they must do daily with delivery delays.
What is the problem now?
Totally pissed off.
House up side down since 10th
No place for our guests to sleep now. They come from abroad.
Paid and ordered the 2nd of december.
No one gives a sh** !
