I was enjoying breakfast with my family at the IKEA Lakeside restaurant at 10:45 AM when a deeply disappointing incident occurred. The food itself was decent and met our expectations, but the experience was marred by the behavior of one of your staff members.
While I was geting my coffee, a staff member approached us to inform me that coffee refills were not free. While I respect policies, her approach was unnecessarily aggressive and lacked any attempt to verify the situation. At that moment, my wife and son had not even gone for tea, and their cups were visibly empty. However, instead of acknowledging this, she insisted loudly that refills were limited, which drew unnecessary attention to our table.
When I clarified that we were following the rules, she implied we could only get tea once, which I calmly affirmed we understood. What shocked me most was when she said she “had a good mind to call security.” This escalation was entirely uncalled for and left my family feeling humiliated.
The experience felt racially motivated. I sensed we were being singled out because we are Asian, as she continued watching us until we finished our breakfast. This level of scrutiny and hostility was extremely upsetting and entirely unlike any experience we’ve had at other IKEA stores.
IKEA is known for its inclusive and welcoming environment, which makes this incident even more disheartening. I urge the management at Lakeside to address this issue promptly, train staff on better customer service, and ensure no one else feels targeted or discriminated against.

IKEA kitchen not stood the test of time
We bought an IKEA kitchen 8 years ago. It had good reviews at the time, a superior ecological footprint and was competitively priced. The units however have not stood the test of time and are just not durable enough. We are a couple in our 60's so it hasn't been exposed to tremendous or rough use. Relatives had a Howdens kitchen installed at the same time in a holiday let which has stood the test of time despite much heavier use. Also really poor is that the remote controlled lighting unit has stopped working, is now obsolete and there is no replacement. Nor can IKEA tech dept advise on any way we can get it working. The white goods have performed well and we'd particularly recommend the steam oven.

Absolutely joke of a company. Compared to the Ikea in the uk it's a joke! Ordered 3 weeks ago for delivery on the 2nd, waited in all day and it was a no show. Rang customer services the day after and they apologised saying the driver had a accident! Fair enough so they re-booked the delivery for the 5th! Guess what... I got another message saying the delivery had been moved to the 7th due to the driver having a accident again... hmm BS springs to mind... so I rang and cancelled my order. I will now shop elsewhere as I have lost trust in a company that clearly enjoys bending the truth. Just be aware that if you order it may be months before you get your goods if at all...

Very bad experience with the employee Jacqui and deputy sales manager Jillian Kelly, in Glasgow IKEA. On the request to use the toilet during closing hours employee Jacqui used the F word and upon complain to sales manage Jillian she asked more questions to me like in what capacity she has used the word and trying to ring fence her employee. I raised the complaint to IKEA and got a very dull response that write a letter to the store (where again the same manager will check the later). Very bad experience with IKEA where all are trying to ring fence the bad behaviour of an employee. Case ref. 47257528. If right action will not be taken then I will raise the complaint against IKEA in the consumer court.

Let you pay for goods to be delivered and given you a delivery date. Never kept to it because they don't pick or reserve the item for you. Just keep reordering and moving the delivery. Spent a whole week either phoning them or driving 50 miles to the store. To be lied too by the store and customer service. No longer trust you but you took my money and now want to give me vouchers. What part of I will never shop with you again do you not understand.

So we order some bedroom furniture from ikea MILTON KEYNES. And payd for it in store.
It was soppos to come on 20 10 24 ,we get a texs saying we need to pay so on Sundays 20.10 we ring the custermer help line and get told that are payment did not get attached to are order.so the guy we spock to told us he had sorted it out and thay will be dlivring on the 24,10 ,24 so tonight 22,10,24.we get a new texs saying we need to pay
My wife is at the moment trying to get it sorted but evry time this happens thay will say o we moved the dlivery date.
So ikea you are in breach of contract as you shod of dliverd for goods payd on 20,10,24 and then 24,10,24 so eventhow we have a receipt with the order number on and on are famly card it says pay for .so pxxx of now
So now we ended up going to milton keynes on wensday as still not resolved ,after tolking to Debbie at custermer service we are soppos to be geting the stuff today so you look at order tracking and it says will get sms on day of order ,no sms and no stuff yet seeing that it's now over a week late thay send it as 1st drop but now 1440 on 25,10 and still whating . Maybe if we don't get it this time we need to go down legal route as at this rate will get wardrobe and drawers front diffrent supply and just tack ikea to court to get money back .
So after the delivery not coming and yet again the phone number resolution center that are as usefull as a chocolate teapot,
And as promised to Debbie in the custermer service department at MK I.l be back I got in car and drove to the store and got a refund ,and as I was doing that thay got a picker to pick what thay have in store. So I like to say thank you for Debbie and I think her manger Anneter I think.as thay are the only people that seemed to sort it out.
I will only shop there now if I can tack the stuff .don't ask for delivery as thay only pick the stuff if in stock and if not thay will tell you that the receipt is not link to the order with is a lot of shxx
,what thay mean is we that bad we didnot pick you stuff when in stock so we lie and mack this up. And then thay will give you a diffrent order number. And it will get so difficult to get you head round it so don't cover with phoning go straight to the shop and thay will sort it out .

damaged goods no customer service follow up. i went on to the online chat and every time i have do it takes over an hour for someone to get back to me, so ive got to sit there for an hour as if i don't they wont follow up anything , wont email about my question so im lost with sorting my defect order that arrived damaged so i think best thing to do it tell paypal and the bank to get money back, its a scam to make buyers give up on asking for collection and refund, who wants to wait an hour. i gave them my email and said email me please and they have not

The team is unprofessional and unreliable! I waited a week to have pieces of the couch in stock and I went in person on Tuesday 17th of September made the order to be delivered on Friday September 20!! I paid the full amount with the delivery and the delivery was scheduled for today between 8 am and 12 pm! Both my husband and I had to take a day off from work to wait for the delivery however I not receive the order nor a phone call nor an email from Ikea for any delay so I called and the customer service tells me the delivery is scheduled for today between 1 pm and 5 pm! So I agreed! Then I call at 5pm and the customer service tells me the order has been cancelled!!!! THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE! AND WHEN I ORDER IT AGAIN I RECEIVE AN EMAIL THAT THE SOFA IS MISSING PIECES WHICH I WAITED FOR AT THE BEGINNING!!!!

Terrible!!! I ordered 2 sofas and covers in July. The sofas have arrived but despite waiting in for many days, going to a collection point to find nothing there and making daily calls to IKEA, I have been left with 2 sofas without covers - which are totally useless! I am leaving the country until March 2025 and the only solution offered is to cancel the order for the covers leaving me with 2 sofas with no covers!

Not a good company
I have bought a mattress on ikea, the order was made on 07/09/2024, before to make the order I called the ikea customer service and I have spoken with Miss Dulce to check if the delivery was made at the front of my door of my flat, I was guaranteed that each item was going to be delivered in front of the flat door. On 17/09/2024 I had the delivery, the delivery man instead to lift the mattress it let rolled up on the street pushing it with his foot, once he reached the entry door if the building he informed me that I had to come down and collect it by myself. He was extremely rude, I told him that it was not following the agreement with IKEA, he said that he did not care at all, he also started to insult me with words like "hijo de puta" I had to bring the mattress to my entry door (4 floor) without lift. The mattress was very dirty and the protection broken considering that it was let being rolled on the road and it was damaged. Therefore, I called ikea, initially 27 minutes without answer, I hung the call and call back, I was able to speak with Pablo, I had to tell him all the awful experience, I was very upset for what happened and how I was treated with no apologies, he at certain point hung the call, soo I had to call again and I spoke with Luis, I told him all the story from scratch, and I told him that I didn't want the item and I was not interested about any exchange, that ikea had to come over and collect it and be refunded. The collection is set now for Friday 20 September between 09:00 and 15:00 once the item is returned and I will receive the refund, I will be glad to close my ikea account.... After this awful experience I will be happy to stay away from ikea....

Terrible experience. They send orders with mistakes, they lose orders, they don’t deliver on time. Everything what could go wrong, went wrong.
Avoid buying a kitchen at all costs
Beyond terrible, so we purchased a kitchen £12,500 later it’s absolutely crap, the dishwasher is twisted the fridge freezer doesn’t sit right the doors are wonky. Reported numerous times to Ikea they don’t want to know, customer service is non existent they always say ‘we understand your frustration’ but the obviously don’t as they aren’t prepared to rectify what they fitter messed up.
Great experience at IKEA Bristol
Great experience at IKEA Bristol. Parking was very easy and store layout was easy to follow. Foodhall was well stocked and as ever the meatball were awesome. Found what I wanted in store and a store member helped me out to the car. As a disabled person I found he whole experience accessible and hassle free.

I have ordered a Kitchen from IKEA that they have designed in-store. I have a tall cabinet of 200 cm for the oven (60 cm), IKEA supplied me with 2 doors of 80 cm and insisted the doors would fit 🤣🤣🤣. IKEA has their own math apparently 80+80+60 is not 220 it is 200. 😅😅😅 They refused to replace the door, had to buy a new door and pay for delivery again.

Click and collect what a joke! Confirmation that order ready to collect 17.59 closed at 18.00 we were in the car park and IKEA van no where to be seen! Hired a van to pick up order so wasted that money according to website can pick up in next 48 hours but I wouldn’t have a van!
