Don’t get cancer.
My husband was diagnosed with an extremely aggressive cancer one month b4 we were due to fly to Darwin for a our 50th wedding anniversary trip on the Ghan. Specialist wrote a letter to say he couldn’t travel, was sure it would be fine to cancel. Not Imagine. Would not let me postpone, I would have given the holiday away rather than over $12,000 go down the gurglar. I was flying to Darwin 3 weeks early to stay with my brother b4 the Ghan trip. Imagine insisted my holiday started from that date though their part was only one week at the end of the trip. They wouldn’t show empathy to us at all, just saying the moneys had all been passed on already. When I asked for evidence of these payments they refused to supply the said evidence to me.There’s not an airline in this day and age who wouldn’t have given a credit. They fall over backwards to help nowadays since Covid. Also we got friends to try to purchase the same trip / date /late cancellation?? on the Ghan. Guess what no vacancy so obviously our trip was again sold. Nice little money earner for someone. I feel we were treated very shabbily and would never recommend this company to anyone for any reason. If the holiday had been a couple of thousand we would have cut our losses sadly but this is a huge amount of money for a bucket trip special occasion.

I can empathise with your situation as I know this is such a large amount of money to lose. I strongly recommend taking up this matter with your travel insurance provider to see whether they would assist you in lodging a claim. I have sent off requests for waivers or reductions on the penalties charged due to your circumstances.

If trips include flights know travel time from start to avoid disappointment..
This is the 2nd booking we have made with Imagine but none completed yet. The booking process with Ben and Shannon recently was very simple. All questions were answered and flights were arranged while on the phone. Very happy. My 1st booking was not so smooth when it came to confirming flights a few months later. Flight travel times were most unacceptable (37 hours instead of 19) We changed these but it cost several thousand $$ extra. If flights are known from the start of your booking there will be no unexpected problems. Looking forward to our 2 trips.

Thank you for your time on the phone earlier today, and for letting us know about your current insurance situation.
As we discussed, in the case that your holiday package is not able to go ahead - for example, Princess cancel the cruise sailing - your investment is 100% protected. This usually takes the form of either a new departure date or a future holiday credit. It is only when you specifically are unable to travel that the deposit is non-refundable.

Received an email regarding a Cunard cruise March 2024. Having only recently completed a 19 day European cruise with Cunard I was keen to get my next booking with Cunard underway. The e-mail referred to exactly the cruise I had been following for the past two weeks. The agent, Kim, whom took my call came back to me within 30 minutes with complete details. (Yes I knew all about this cruise and had these details in front of me from my own enquiries). Her attention to detail covered everything and with little hesitation I booked the cruise. After more than 50 years of travelling this is one of the few times I have used a third party to make a booking with and have to say how impressed I am to date. So why book through a third party? The offer was just that good, and well below anything I could get going direct. Have passed your company name on to other regular travellers I know.

Our Queen Victoria Cruise holiday
To celebrate our 50th Wedding Anniversary I booked a Queen Victoria Cruise as a surprise for my wife with another cruise company.
Later discovering that Imagine Holidays not only offered a cheaper price but also had a package inclusive of domestic flights to Sydney,overnight accommodation prior to joining our 22 night cruise, additional night in 4.5star hotel in Singapore , inclusive return Singapore Airlines flight back to Brisbane.
None of the above was included with our first booking agent & what's more their selling price was just over $3,000 more than Imagine Holidays.
We are so happy & looking forward to a cruise of a lifetime on board Cunard Queen Victoria & that we discovered Imagine Holidays to put it all together for us
