The Villa Edira made a superb base for our Quiet Side of the Italian Riviera holiday. The staff were warm and welcoming, our room was spotlessly clean and comfortable, the breakfasts were delicious... See more

My wife and I went on InnTravel's The Hill-Top Towns of Tuscany walking tour between 30 September and 12 October 2025, to celebrate my wife's 60th birthday. We had previously visited Tuscany and had loved it as a location, so our expectations were high, the holiday exceeded those expectations by some margin. The view from our hotel in San Gimignano (for example) was exceptional and provided the perfect backdrop for my wife's birthday celebrations. The selected locations, hotels and walks were all very well chosen and provided a real sense of the beauty of Tuscany. In addition to the standard tour, we added city visits to Pisa and Florence which very neatly bookended the walking elements of the holiday.

The Portuguese Camino walking holiday was memorable. We stayed in 7 lovely hotels on the route which provided bed and breakfast, picnic lunches on walk days and occasionally dinner. The self guided notes are very comprehensive and the baggage transfer arrangements through Tui Trans were efficient. We added on a night in Braga after flying into Porto and after the walk 3 nights in Porto, making a 14 night holiday. This was our third Inntravel holiday.

We have used Inntravel for our self-guided walking holidays many times, most recently in Umbria and Hidden Tuscany. The walking notes are excellent and now come with optional GPX files too. The accomodation is in characterful family run places. Importanty, Inntravel are very responsive when there is a problem, such as a recent train strike in Italy where they got us booked on buses as an alternative.

We’ve used Inntravel twice and plan to use them again the future for their “Journeys” tours—self-guided tours where Inntravel arranges train travel and hotel reservations along with plenty of suggestions for restaurants and walks.
Inntravel Journey tours are well thought out and well priced, but you’re blissfully on your own for the actual trip. They’ve taken out a lot of the guess work of trip planning.

Well curated cycling trip. Good comfortable hotels . We had a challenging issue with our second hotel which we managed to resolve but the company needs to tackle this with them.
We contacted Inntravel on our return and were very appreciative if the personal response to our complaint. We hope they have indeed dealt with it.

Very well organised. From the pick at the railway station up to the drop off at the end, everything went seamlessly.
The directions for the walks are clear and easy to follow and the hotels are very good. Excellent dinners and packed lunches too.

This September we spent a very enjoyable week on a self guided walking holiday at Ortisei,Val Gardena in the Dolomites organised by Inntravel.
The hotel was excellent and the recommended walks very enjoyable-but the walks from Resciesa and Alpe di Siusi were oustanding.Such beautiful scenery made so accessable by the cable car/funicula system.
Inntravel's description of the holiday was spot on and their general organisation ( with one small exception) first class.
An excellent holiday that fully lived up to our expectations .

We’ve had a wonderful two-week holiday exploring the Peloponnesus with Inntravel. Superbly planned by Inntravel, as always. The Greek people were really kind, the food was so delicious, and the sites were very interesting (and very varied). We explored lots of other places too on our driving days. Definitely 5 stars.

We really enjoyed our walk along the Catalan coast. Our accommodation was excellent with the exception of the hotel Ancora in La Fosca, which was more rustique, although very comfortable.
The walks were good although they were challenging at times with the many steps down towards the sea and then the climb back up again.

We liked the walks proposed not because that was all we did, but because we were able to use these walks to cover all the bases, whilst adding our own additions, where time, opportunity and legs permitted. We were also pleased with the choices of hotels. They fully earned their five stars however when we were threatened with being stranded by a national strike which presented a real obstacle to getting home. Inntravel arranged a taxi to the airport and, due to the circumstances, did so at their cost. We think that counts as "walking the extra mile".

I booked a walking holiday north of Porto with Inntravel, and the experience was disappointing. I think the entire trip needs revisiting and upgrading. (Northern Portugal's Minho Manor Houses). Perhaps I expected too much, thinking we would stay in proper hotels with service, comfortable accommodation, and good food, accompanied by enjoyable and satisfying walks. However, this wasn't the case. We also did not receive the walking notes so it would have been impossible to follow the walks had we not been with another couple.
The best part of the holiday was the various taxi services, which were very efficient and worked well. Also, the people were very pleasant and accommodating, and we met some interesting individuals.
We were in 3 different accommodations. The first was very clean, and we had good home-cooked food. However, the walk was closed and we were informed no one from the company had been for ages to update the walk, even though they had been informed that the walk was closed. In effect we walked around a drab suburban environment that was full of aggressive dogs that constantly barked at us.
The second accommodation was excellent and what we had imagined.
The third accommodation was pleasant but in the centre of Ponte de Limo . We had been booked in during their major festival. This is an annual festival, since 1820, and is full of thousands of people. Just chaos and noise. Inntravel were very good, they moved us but they should have known this is the biggest festival in Portugal and we should never have been booked in during that week.
Third accommodation was terrible. The food was just awful and NO lunch and nowhere to buy any food so basically, you are on a walking holiday with NO food all day and the food given to us in the evening was rehashed and terrible.
As stated at the beginning, there are no bars, no drinks service, nothing to eat. Not much of a holiday

Our walking holiday in the Appenines in Italy was spectacular. The friendly family run hotels were exceptional. The food was delicious. The scenery was glorious. The overall experience made for a memorable holiday.

Our trip to Serra da Arrábida area south of LIsbon was impeccably organised and the standard of service and accommodation outstanding. This is a trip that is mainly along country lanes with a smaller amount of paths so it is not in the wild. The maps and notes were very useful and our few suggested amendments were well received. Overall easy to moderate.

We have holidayed with Inntravel a number of times over the past thirty years, most recently walking in Tuscany. We thoroughly enjoyed the wonderful countryside in its late summer splendour and the remarkable beauty of Siena, where we spent the last two nights. As usual, Inntravel provided copious walking notes and recommendations for sight-seeing and food. The choice of accommodation was of the usual Inntravel high-standard – all in all, an easy walking holiday to be recommended!

A terrific walking holiday near Porto in Portugal. The walks were lovely, a good level for us, we stayed in some truly lovely Quintas and a very good hotel in Porto.

We walked the East Lycian Way in late September. The agents in Turkey, Middle Earth, were excellent, with great communication, transfers that were on time, in comfy vehicles, and hotels that were small, personal and in fantastic locations. Food was excellent. The walks were harder than advertised with unrealistic times- it was still hot, however we are seasoned hikers and would have struggled to complete walks in the times quoted. GPS maps definitely needed as the written instructions were confusing.
Inn Travel, however, were not up to scratch. Our itinerary was incorrect and I was unable to get a timely response- no replies to emails, waiting for half an hour on the phone, missed callbacks -over two days. When I finally got through I spoke to an agent who said she knew little about the trip we were undertaking. On arrival in Turkey, I checked with the middle earth rep who said the timed transfer back to the airport was incorrect-he amended it. I was told on one phone call to Inn travel that a new phone system was being installed and that it was August so the team were very busy.

We travelled this year to the Dolomites and had a lovely time with another couple. A local train strike caused some confusion for us on the trip to Bolzano. But once that had passed our trip went very well. Accommodation and food were excellent. Yet, the true stars were the mountains. A postcard view at every turn!

Inn travel did not tell us that the Zingaro park was closed ahead of time
We found out by chance. Very poor. Also didn't get twin beds despite requesting it.

Excellent choice of varied accommodation in well chosen locations, suitable to each Island. Special mention of Casa do Antonio, Sao Jorge, a family run establishment, with ‘personal’ touch from fruit & local homemade biscuits available throughout the day and a selection of hot drinks; to calm and caring assistance given when we needed it after overstretching ourselves on Serra do Topo walk.
Be aware proper id is required when using the inter-island ferries for all passengers.
We took advantage of the round the Island local bus on Faial (runs once a day at lunchtime) which was a cheap and interesting way to get an overview of the whole Island, with added interest of being used by locals in particular school children.
When moving between Islands, we found it useful to pack a day bag, as when arriving at the next hotel before check in time, rooms were not always available, but everywhere was happy to store luggage.
Our final destination at Terra Nostra Hotel was fabulous, with the beautiful gardens/arboretum complete with thermal pool attached to the hotel. Our sunrise dip in the thermal pool frequently on our own is a memory we will treasure for many years

The Secret Appenines walk was a great adventure.
Inntravel provided excellent walking notes with good recommendations about what to do and what to see. The accomodation provided was on the whole very comfortable with a few stand outs regarding aspect and cuisine.
