I can categorically say that these are nothing like the old Road-X trainers. I used to run in Road-X 233 and loved them. These couldn't be more different and I disliked them instantly. The sizes are weird so my size 11 feet normally take an 11.5 for running, but my toes were practically on the end so I went for 12 which is too much. I did three 5k runs in them to give them a fair shout and not one of them was comfortable. Personally I think the drop should be 4 or even better just 3mm. The only thing I can say is the grip on the sole is good. I can't return them now so I'll have to sell them on at a loss. Such a shame, Inov8 used to make good shoes but now they just seem to make a baffling array of very similar shoes but with no consistency so what you might like now will probably disappear in a year or two. This means I cannot recommend them, and I certainly can't buy them any more.

The shoes are nice & light, I’ve only done about 10miles in them so I’m still getting used to them as they are quite different from the Hoka I’d been using in that they’re much less soft & bouncy, which is good as the others were a bit too ‘squishy’ feeling at times. Also the fit is slightly tighter than my other size 10 Inov8 shoes, so I maybe should have gone a half-size up with these Roadfly?…

I was very impressed with the build quality of the shoe. Really well put together and a unique design that grows in you. Then three times after wearing it the foam on the right shoe is not behaving the same way as the left. Something has given off in the construction and it affects the consistency. It gives the perception that the heel is slipping off (which is not) and its a bother while running. I hope it will even out with the left after a few more runs. No point in posting pictures as its nothing visible to the eye.

Fantastic running shoe! The Road Fly is reminiscent of the original Road-X 233 from 10+ years ago, a shoe that was amazing in my opinion and I was devastated when it was discontinued. This new Road Fly is light, responsive, with the perfect amount cushioning for both sprints and longer runs (at least a half marathon shoe if not more). I’ve also been using this as my gym shoe given its stack height is low and it’s been great for lifting/agility work. I really hope Inov-8 keeps making this for years to come.

Sadly I wore these immediately, before realising the insoles are a poor fit, too small at the front toe area, so they got a ridge across my toes, they are also not secured in the shoe so also fall out easily. Very disappointed as I use inov8 trail shoes on my third pair and love them but these road shoes do not live up to the trail shoes quality that love.

Great for wide feet, I purchased a pair of the Bare XF trainers a few months ago and have been so impressed with the comfort and fit I purchased the Roadfly as well. As someone who struggles to find trainers wide enough these trainers have been outstanding. I have tried other brands in Wide fit and nothing else delivers the comfort that these have.

I was hesitant about the wide fit on the roadfly but they actual fit very well. Have had about 10 runs in them now and I'm a happy runner. I've had 4 x different types of inov-8 runners over the years, and fair play to them, they just seem to get it right.

First pair of road shoes for a few years but so far are great. Definitely better than my previous altras and inov8's last attempt at roadies the 255 and 235 ( think it was 235). Great cushioning, not too hard or soft, very responsive and easy to run in. Definitely exceeded my expectations. I wish sizing would be more uniform though as I'm 10.5 in some inov8 stuff and 10 in others. Had to go 10.5 in these.

Being an ALTRA shoes fan for running I must say that I found the roadfly to be even more roomy on the toes and more comfortable for long runs. It felt lighter that the Altra escalante 4 although I think is more cushioned . It will be definitely my preferred pair of shoes

This shoe is light, comfortable and springy. I love the foot shaped toe box and the wide fitting. It is great to find a shoe without a massive stack height and that is not overly soft. My favourite road shoe and at a good price too.

Worn a few times now and feel great. Just the right level of cushioning for me and price point is spot on. Used the advice re width of fitting and glad I did. Thank you, had some bad experiences of late with way more expensive shoes so these are a revelation.
