Super place to stay

This is a super place to stay. It's right on the water, in a quirky, historic building. The bedrooms are simple but comfortable, and the staff are friendly. We stayed as a family group (4 rooms) following a party at the Club itself & nothing was too much trouble. Just be aware that steep stairs, uneven floors & offsite parking are part of the charm, but make it unsuitable for guests with reduced mobility.

Quaint and quiet

Quite a comfortable bed. Really nice bed linen. Shower fabulously powerful and good temperature control. Quaint with a pretty waterside view. But it was a little grubby. The cushions throw on the bed was quite disgusting. Toilet seat was filthy underneath. The pub nearby was the only place for an evening meal and it was a bit of a dump. I had a double deluxe room to myself. It would have been very small for two but just right for me. On the whole I enjoyed staying here and slept well.

As a non-member visiting off season

As a non-member visiting off season, it was a fantastic base to enjoy the beautiful seaside. The room was comfortable, and location magnificent. The only thing to highlight is that the local car park can get a bit expensive going back and forth. What a find!

Used an accomodation room for one night… 10/10

Used an accomodation room for one night stay.

Only wanted something cheap in the area. This more than fitted the bill, very clean comfy room and bed with shared bathroom. Lovely and quiet, no TV, fantastic location on the quayside.

Great pub opposite for own food and cafe round the corner for own breakfast.

Staff at sailing club very accommodating.

Definitely use again for occasional little trips away 10/10

Good stay

Good stay, especially as I was attending a party downstairs.
Only problem was that the heating was off in my room despite radiator turned up to max. Rather a cold night - if you do expect guests to have no bedroom heating you could supply an extra duvet..

Stayed over a Saturday night

Stayed over a Saturday night. Picked up the key from friendly bar staff. Room was ready and well presented - everything you need but I took a small radio because I like to listen to R4 the old way. Warm enough throughout on a late November night.

Great Fun for Those Who Want Something Different

We stayed a couple of nights in the club accommodation. We loved it. There was a sailing event happening there over the weekend when we stayed, and this gave a great atmosphere of excitement, as well as a beautiful spectacle as they were taking off from the jetties. Everyone was very friendly, inclusive and welcoming, even though we weren't really part of the event. It is not a hotel in the conventional sense, but a different experience, and if you are ready for that, you should enjoy it I would think. The setting is absolutely stunning as you are right on the river bank at the beautiful Chichester Harbour.

Totally cosy retreat

The rooms at Itchenor are small, cosy, uncomplicated. They have a nice armchair and some of them have Chichester harbour views. No TV: you can feel really cosy with a glass of wine and a book. It’s a retreat, in effect. And no matter what the time of year, the walks along the shoreline are just beautiful, with beautiful soft birdsong.

Great place to stay.

First time I have stayed here and will gladly again. Room had everything i would need. Bed was very comfy. Nice lady in the bar gave me the key. Bathroom was really nice and shower was powerful.
Lovely view out to the coast and all the yachts. I would gladly recommend Itchenor Sailing Club.

As a room, it was ok, but the view was great!

As a room, it was okay. It had a mish-mash of non-matching furniture, and there were dabs of paint on the varnished surfaces where someone had been careless with a paintbrush. The windows opened, but were sticking slightly and needed a shove. The cabinet under the sink had a broken door and it was just propped-up into place. When I tried to open it, the whole door lifted away in my hand. The base to one of the beds had stains on the outside. This room was up in the roof space of the building. If you're over 5' 8" you might not appreciate the sloping ceilings! These are just rooms - no shower or toilet facility (which is pointed-out in the advertising). The bathroom/toilet is separate. It's basically clean, but some of the general maintenance is of poor quality. For example, a new toilet roll dispenser has been fitted to the wall, but you can see where the old one was as the screw holes are still visible. It wouldn't have taken much time to fill the holes and paint over this area. The general impression is that it has all been slung together with any old bits of furniture and a crude paint job just to get the paying punters in there. Check out the rough woodwork just behind the toilet cistern on the top floor. I don't expect the quality of a room in the Ritz, but there is a roughshod element to the way these rooms have been kitted out and decorated. Tea and coffee facilities were all there, and I found the bed comfortable. Also, had a great view out of my room window across the water. Shame I can't attach photo's - these would support what I've written above. All the staff there were friendly & helpful.
