Awesome gap year, thank you IWH!
International working holidays is an awesome organisation who helped me to have a gap year to remember for a lifetime. They were super helpful and made sure I was very prepared before going. I was able to talk one on one with the awesome Shelby to decide on a volunteer program that was best for me. I did Camp America in upstate New York and then went to Nambia for a life-changing experience, volunteering at a wildlife sanctuary, school and medical clinic. Dale was super helpful and worked to organize all travel arrangement which was super helpful seeming it was my first time travelling. When I missed my flight I was able to ring Dale for the reassurance of what to do even with the massive time zone differences. International working holidays work closely with volunteer organisation all around the world so you're ensured to have an amazing experience. Highly recommend them and will definitely be booking another trip through them in the future.
International Working Holidays were…amazing!
International Working Holidays were great to work with! They were super quick to answer any questions I had about my up and coming trip and also gave me advice when it came to my what trips I should take, or support me when I had chosen. They were always prompt in their reply’s and helped me in any way the could! No question was unanswered.
Best people ever
I have been through International Working Holidays twice now on wildlife volunteer projects to africa and bali. Both times they were amazing. Discussing what projects were best for me and then organising everything, flights, insurance, transport, etc.
Not once during either of my trips was I left wondering how was I getting from one place to the other as they had arranged all of it.
It was the best experience ever. And they made it so easy!!!
I will definantly be going through them again in the future for a third time!!!
International Working Holidays (IWH)…
International Working Holidays (IWH) has got to be one of the coolest travel companies that has helped me with exploring new countries! The people that work there were amazing help sorting out all the details of getting to and from the various places I went. As it was my first time traveling solo I was a little bit nervous about it all but it was completely unfounded as every pick up/drop off at the airports was faultless and the accomodation was very good. All in all a very happy customer and the experiences I had will never be forgotten!
Great team
Great team
loved the whole experience with them. Nice people who work efficiently! looking forward to my next adventure with them.
I am so glad that I went through IWH…
I am so glad that I went through IWH for my travels last year. From the beginning, everyone was super helpful and made my trip planning way less stressful than I would've made it. Dale Watkins was a superstar in terms of organising my flights, insurance etc. She listened to what I wanted in terms of travel and made it happen at a cost that worked for me. She helped me get the best insurance which I am so grateful for, as I ended up in hospital and at the doctors multiple times in America which would've cost a fortune otherwise. Shelby is another person who has been awesome, she is always asking how things are going even after my travels have finished. I chose to go to Africa through IWH and it was honestly the best experience ever, everything again was all organised for me including visa, transport upon arrival and cost. I didn't even need to get in touch with the sanctuary before I arrived as IWH provided me with everything I needed. Super grateful, am hoping to go back to Africa once this pandemic is over.
Even the 40++ can volunteer with IWH ...
I was excited when I googled volunteering and found that IWH had options for those 40++! The organisation by IWH is great. They help you decide what project is best for you, put you in touch with a travel agent, help with visa applications and call you just prior to departure to make sure you are all set.All of this enhances your experience and gives you confidence for what is ahead.
I interacted with several of the staff and found them all to be friendly and helpful.

You'll regret it if you dont book it.
You'll regret it if you dont book it.
International Working Holidays were amazing (especially Shelby)! They were so helpful to find the right project for me and answer all my questions I had for months before I went away! I went to South Africa - surprisingly I felt safe the entire time - I didn't once feel worried, unsafe or unsure of where I was! I loved it so much I have been back to South Africa 3 times now. I have made new friends and pretty much family over there all thanks to IWH. Definitely recommend to book through them as they organize it all for you from the project through to flights and insurance! Best money I've ever spent!
IWH are AMAZING
International Working Holidays were SO HELPFUL right from the start! From visa applications, to finding flights and sorting travel insurance, they just made sure the whole experience went super smoothly for me. I was doing my own travel before participating in the IWH's programs, and after volunteering I was going to do my own travel again. That last bit changed while I was overseas but the IWH were so helpful and ensured I had flights and tours booked so that I wasn't left in the lurch. I was originally going to be in South Africa for 2 weeks volunteering and then meeting up with friends (but they bailed), so I ended up volunteering in South Africa, then heading to Zimbabwe on my own to check out Victoria Falls, then down to Cape Town to spend a week exploring there. It was just an amazing trip, and Cape Town is for sure A MUST-SEE!!! Zimbabwe is really beautiful too, I spent a good part of the afternoon bargaining at the markets by the falls. Loads of fun, and it wouldn't have been possible without IWH and the amazing team there, (and of course, the team over in South Africa!) :)
Namibia 2019 with IWH
IWH: The team at IWH was super helpful from day one! We discussed different countries, programmes, flights, dates, visas and everything else through multiple emails, messages and even video calls. They made sure they could answer all of my questions which made me feel super safe and comfortable. This trip was my first time going overseas by myself (I was 18 at the time) so I was quite nervous about going through multiple airports in different countries by myself but the team at IWH booked the flights perfectly for me!
Trip: I went to Windhoek, Namibia in September-October 2019 for 17 days to do a 2 week wildlife rehabilitation course as well as a few days of regular volunteer work at Na'an ku se wildlife sanctuary.
The days were filled with amazing activities such as walking with the baboons, building enrichments for the cheetah, walking with the cheetah (I even saw a cheetah chase a herd of giraffes in the wild!!), preparing food for the animals, driving around the reserve spotting animals in their natural habitat, feeding the wide range of animals and soooo much more. I made sure that I wrote everything that I did in a little travel journal so I didn’t forget anything, and I’m so glad that I did!!
My favourite moment on the trip was definitely working with the cheetahs. The rehab group got to assist the veterinarian in the annual health check of two of their cheetahs, Ebony & Ivory. We recorded their temperatures, respiratory rate and heart rate to make sure the animals were in the best care possible. I was fortunate enough to give Ivory her rabies injection! It was the first injection that I have ever done and I think it’s pretty cool that it got be on a cheetah. That was definitely my highlight!!
In the wildlife rehabilitation programme we also had a class/lecture almost every day so we could learn more about why they do what they do. I found the programme very interesting and I think it will help me so much during my veterinary nursing study.
LOVED WORKING WITH IWH
As a 18 year old girl, who had never travelled by myself let alone outside of OZ and NZ, I was apprehensive about finding the right company to trust and give my money to.
Once I signed up I had two fabulous conversations that put me at ease straight away. The team at IWH were quick to make sure I was welcome and understood what would happen.
In July 2015 I spent 2 weeks at Welgevonden where I had the best time of my life and was influenced by my trip to go on and become an ecologist. I start my PhD in ecology in November and without working with IWH and the people in SA I wouldnt be where I am today!

Solo in Afica
I traveled solo to South Africa and namibia. The team at IWH helped get everything organized from flights to visas. They even helped me plan a trip to Kruger national park very last minute when I was already in Africa from the other side of the world. They were always available and responded very quickly. This trip was also full of exciting unexpected surprises orginised by the team we were kept safe at all times and very well looked after. I definitely plan on booking future travels with them, it's a hard choice with all the options they have.

These guys rock! Great travel group
International Working Holidays were there every step of the way when planning my Volunteer Trip to Africa. I did the South African Discovery Trip which was life changing. A 4 week trip through eSwatini (Volunteer building a school), Kruger National Park (Safari Tour) and Mozambique (on the coast exploring the marine life). The trip has been meticulously tailored to get the most out of your time. Recommend to all my friends.

Best decision of my life
International Working Holidays (IWH) were super helpful organising and supporting me with my OE! I worked at a Summer Camp in USA, had the most amazing holiday in Cancun as part of the Camp America programme, and volunteered in Namibia on a wildlife rescue and conservation reserve. I can’t decide on which part of the trip was my favourite and my only regret is not doing more! IWH found programmes that suited my budget and passions, organised my flights, and continued to support me through the trip. I can’t recommend it enough, life changing experience 100%.

I went to the South African dream horse…
I went to the South African dream horse safari and the team at IWH were absolutely amazing, from getting me in contact with someone flying the same way to keeping in contact with me before and even after my trip. I have recommended IWH to everyone who wants to have a work / travel holiday but isn't sure on what they want to do. Heaps of information given and both the projects and the local team.
Felt really safe the whole time in South Africa knowing that I could easily contact the New Zealand or South African team.
The team at IWH where really understanding and so caring throughout the whole experience.

South Africa volunteer program
Had an absolutely amazing holiday!
Easy instructions, easy to book with awesome with add ons and what not.
💯 going back only regret was not making my holiday longer!
The accommodation was a lot flasher than I thought as I went to South Africa doing a lion program I thought it would be like farm and not as Fancy which is 💯 okay with me but honestly it was to die for! Higher than the standards I had I felt like I was in a mini resort. Having everything paid for and meals included made life so easy I only needed spending money and activity money. The team were very helpful as I wanted to stop over in Dubai and Singapore not just in the airport so I managed to spend a few days in each place along the way. Staff are absolutely amazing and again everything was just easy. Had no problems. They have staff online around the clock if you need to get in contact or just need a friend to ask more questions get experience from them they are always there to help and support you in any way. I can’t tell you how many times I annoyed one of the girls for all of her experiences and how nervous I was first time very far from home not a small flight. But they were always there when needed. Best holiday by far!
I will travel more with your programs and company.
Please take note I’ve travelled before coming to this company and so far best package deals! Programs are all for a good cause and an opportunity of a life time with memories that will last forever. If you get the chance I highly recommend a animal volunteer program getting hands on with exotic animals 💕
