We used the Duston Jackson and Grundy…

We used the Duston Jackson and Grundy to sell our house and I wish I didn’t have to pay them all the money as they didn’t deserve all of it . 1. Yes they did get a lot of people through the door through Covid , but had to wait a while for any fed back .
2. I actually ended up showing the person round and I sold my own house in the End as they couldn’t fit the lady in with the time she wanted it so I showed her round .
3. I didn’t get any communication back from them only if I chased or when the buyer was asking them to contacted me .
4. They never emailed to say we exchanged another Estae agent company did that , It took them 2 days that’s only because I spoke to them first

I won’t be using the Duston office again they didn’t deserve the money

Tom really does have the patience of a saint....whereas I don't suffer fools gladly which is why I left the solicitor up to him. Thank you for all your time and patience, it was worth every penny

They will scam you out of your security…

They will scam you out of your security deposit. I have never before had any letting agency take more than an £80 charge for either cleaning or damages in over 10 years of letting and JG tried to take over half of our security deposit for; a burn in the carpet (which you can’t even see in the pictures), a few spots of mismatched paint on the walls and cleaning due to water spots on the stove! It took months to negotiate the charges down to just a couple of hundred pounds! Do not let from them if you have an option. It’s not worth it! We will never use them again.

Not great from my experience.

This is a strange agency, they have a specific office for houses over 400k but not really providing the service needed to sell such houses in prestigious locations.

The house wasn't selling and getting very few viewings, however JG did not once proactively speak to me to see what could be done to make the house more appealing. Whether that be reduce the price or if work needed doing the house, I made it very clear to them that they are the professionals in this field and would be open to what ever they thought needed doing.

We reduced the price but this was by our own conclusions about the market not from any advise given from JG.

The other issue I had was with their photos, very poor done by themselves not using a wide angel lens. When I suggested they needed to use a wider angle lens they said they don't use wide angle lenses. Which is very short sited of them.

The new agents we are using seem to be on a different level, they are using professional photographer and the photos have turned out amazing. They are confident about their ability so there is no tie in periods and they have taken the time to get to know the house and all the details.

Also they kept trying to get different people from various offices to do the viewings which I specifically said they shouldn't for obvious reasons.

If you are selling a large property over 400k stay away there are much better agents who for less will do a better job.

Amazing agency.

Amazing agency.
I am renting a house with Jackson Grundy for 3 years already. Never had any issues with them, whenever we need something i can easily get in touch with them, if i need to agree something with the landlord they come back to me shortly with an answer. I am not really a person who writes reviews but i have decide to do it as a good experience has to be shared as well. I am in touch always with Tracey Porter and i love the way she is doing her job. I would like to thank her for the beautiful experience that i am having,

garden charges, have you been stung as well?

It’s been some years since I used Jackson Grundy, however after reading the other bad review of garden charges I feel it necessary to leave a comment because I also got stung for garden charges to the tune of £50 (well thats what they tried to charge me, but I complained, and they got funny about it and I’ve never forgotten it). This was because I had apparently left the grass slightly long. I feel I must point out due to us moving into another property quite a long way a way earlier than the end of our tenancy (I had paid all due rent up to the end of the tenancy, so they had already got extra money). I left the garden in a tidy condition and also out of my own pocket repaired a fence at the bottom of the garden even though it was broken when we moved in. This cut no ice with this company who still wanted extra money, I refused and we reached a lower settlement but it got needlessly a little nasty. I’d also point out that on occasion representatives of Jackson Grundy let themselves into the property unannounced without knocking the door on inspection days even though I said I would be in, imagine my surprise coming on here and finding another person stung by garden charges. Stealth hidden estate agent charges. my advice avoid if you can.

Do not recommend this estate agency!

We highly do not recommend this agency for renting!  We are happy with the results by the TDS however our experience during the check out process was far from pleasant. Which is why we are providing a review.

A lot of confusing phone calls. Situation was not getting anywhere!

We ended up following the matter to the TDS (Tenancy Deposit Scheme) as we could not resolve the situation. Also we decided to turn to the TDS as we felt, to avoid more extra charges added, as the agent/landlord added an additional garden charges after we disputed the cleaning charges. In our opinion, we found this highly inappropriate and unprofessional as the check out report and cleaning issue was already stated and the garden charges was only an issue when we disputed the cleaning charges. In our experience of renting with other agencies, charges were never added once the report and issues were stated.

We were extremely unimpressed and horrified when the TDS report came back. In our opinion from the report, the agent accidentally mislead us and provided factually incorrect statements towards us. TDS report stated from the check out report, the only issue was the front garden for weeding however the contractor only provided the rear garden quote and not the front. The agent, informed us that the quote was requested for the front AND rear garden however after reading the TDS report, was not the case!

Before the TDS, we tried to dispute the garden charges however the agent continued to inform us that she has requested a quote for front and rear garden from the contractor, though we discovered that the contractor only quoted the rear garden, in which we found out was not even an issue as it was not stated in the check out report, but was mistaken by the agent that it was!

We felt that we could had handled our statement to the TDS in a different perspective if we were provided with the correct information!

We are so glad that we decided to turn to the TDS as we would have never known, if we had accepted the charges stated by the agent! Again we are happy with outcome of the TDS!

Overall, our experience was far from pleasant! In our opinion, we found our checking out process was unprofessional and confusing!

In our opinion, we do not appreciate informal allegations of defamation and we can provide evidence to defend this review! All statements made are truthful! Any opinions that has been stated are from our experience and how we felt when information came to our knowledge!

We fully complied with Jackson Grundy request to re-assess and re-read our review and we hope that this meets the factually correct standard that Jackson Grundy requested!
