The most excruciating and long conveyance process ever!
We bought a new build house with Taylor Wimpey using their part exchange scheme. They recommended us to use the conveyancy services of Jacksons Law firm because apparently they are familiar with them and would make the conveyancy process faster and smoother, especially because Taylor Wimpey expects to exchange contracts within a period of eight weeks after reserving the property. How wrong they were, Jacksons made the whole process so difficult and so slow because too many people were involved and they clearly have serious communucation issues. After three months of making the reservation there were no signs of having the exchange of contracts and becaus of this they told us that exchange and completion had to be done at the same time. We finally completed after six months and two weeks of an excruciating conveyancy process. It had a delay of 100% that the average conveyancy time takes. Because Taylor WImpey know all the stress and inconvenence they caused us they have removed them from their panel and not recommend them any new potential buyers. They really let us down, they caused us so much stress and replace the feeling of joy we were suppose to have when we finally receive our keys for one of just relief that it was over. I would not recommend Jacksons to anyone. Avoid them if you can.

Excellent service
Really pleased with my overall experience with Jackson’s Law. After selling two properties; they could not have been more accommodating and efficient. Would definitely recommend!
We would recommend Jackson’s Law
We were recommended Jackson’s by Esh homes as we were buying a property from them. They have made the process very smooth and easy. Their communication was excellent and I’d like to thank Lindsey and the rest of the team for all their help.
Buying a house as an expat.
Being 6000 miles away from home means buying a new home can be difficult. But Jacksons made this process so smooth, from having to deal with the time zone differences to the demands of an international mortgage company. Jacksons dealt with this with ease, keeping all stressful things from me.
Personally, I would like to thank David Armitage [apprentice solicitor] and Jonathan Wall [Partner, Head of Residential Property] for just being a pair of superstars.
Don't hesitate to use their professional services - they are awesome.
Completion of apartment sale
The company was very professional and dealt with all my queries in a prompt manner.
I dealt with various members of the Stockton branch and was very happy with the service that i recieved.
This was the second time i have used Daniel Tumilty and his team and will use them again in the future.
Highly recommend!
We (me and my partner) were recommended these by Ashberry Homes when buying our new house. I highly recommended they helped make the process easy and smooth as it could possibly be. Staff were always friendly, approachable and happy to help we got our key today (16.12.2022) and we couldn’t have done without the support and assistance from jacksons law firm :)
Terrible experience
Terrible experience - I wanted a litigation solicitor to help with a situation where I was hoping to to get my large deposit back from an auction property I had wanted to buy. Through no fault of my own the vendor had dragged the situation passed numerous final dates by not completing her part as set out in the contract.
The letter was written by Jack Farrow, who drafted a very basic letter which missed the key points. I then told him of the edits in the letter and it was still a very unimpressionable letter that I knew would be ineffective to the cause.
I told him I wasn’t happy with the draft and he still wanted to charge £173.40. Now they have applied interest on that letter and demanding £360. There was no attention to my resolve of this already miserable situation. This firm is just interested in making money!

Manners and courtesy cost nothing !
Arriving at Jackson Law, I was shown to a room. Shortly afterwards a young lady entered the room, no introduction, no greeting, just " You're here for an ID check ", followed by " I'll go and photocopy these, I won't be long " . Whoever this young lady was, she really needs to learn some basic manners. I certainly will never use this firm of solicitors and neither would I recommend them.
We used Jacksons to purchase our new house
We used Jacksons to purchase our new build.
We cannot fault Ruth Kilmartin and the team.
We were kept up to date and our case was dealt with in a professional and caring manner.
Thank you

Probate August 2019-June 2020
I've recently had to contact Jackson's Law Firm who were acting on my behalf to administer my late Mother's estate from August 2019 to June 2020 (it is now May 2022) I have received correspondence from a debt collection agency for non payment of energy bills which were sent to Jacksons in January 2020 while they were dealing with the probate (it is almost 3 years since my Mother's death) Incidentally I've never had to deal with debt collection agencies ever but thanks to Jacksons Law Firm I'm now having to, their excuse is "human error" of solicitor dealing with the estate who no longer works there, conveniently. Considering I paid a lot in fees for probate and am now having to pay bills which were missed I won't be using their services again.
Moving House
We used Jackson’s Law to both sell and purchase our existing and new home.
Daniel and his team were assigned to our file. The legal process on our sale was very swiftly completed.
The process on our purchase took a little longer and had a couple of more complications but Daniel was very helpful in explaining everything and what is meant.
I have seen a few reviews on here saying that communication was an issue for people and lack of updates. We did find that it felt like we hadn’t heard anything for a while and what perhaps was a lack of communication but actually in 9 times out of 10, this was actually because there was no updates to be given. This is also explained in the detailed welcome pack when you first engage the company.
The reason I have only given 4 stars rather than 5 was on a couple of occasions, we were asked to provide documentation that was ‘missing’ but we had already provided it along with our initial response to forms/requests that we needed to fill in. Whilst it was a little frustrating, this was the only downside to our experience.
Some months after the sale of our house, the new owner received his deeds which had an issue on them relating to our old mortgage. I contacted our Solictor again, and whilst it wasn’t Jackson’s issues, the matter was resolved within 24 hours thanks to thief intervention.
Overall a good firm who get the job done and are reasonable with their help, comments and fees. Made a stressful experience a little easier!
Jacksons law
We used Jacksons law for the sale and purchase of our new home.
Their service was fantastic, communication was great, often answering emails at night or over the weekend, both sets of solicitors kept us well informed over developments.
Highly recommended
Poor service
I’m not one for leaving bad reviews as a business shouldn’t be blamed for a bad experience. Sadly my review is a very bad and negative one.
We are first time buyers and luke dealt with our case, luke has very poor communication skills, he lacks the ability to keep you updated on how any of the purchase is progressing, he doesn’t reply to emails, he doesn’t make phone calls and doesn’t take any information you give him on board.
We had to send him help to buy documents multiple times as he claimed he had only received my statement and not my partners, despite the fact they were sent on the same email.
We’ve only spoken to Luke twice over the phone in the 5 month we have been dealing with him, both times we made the call and found it very hard to get through to luke.
We appreciate that our purchase was delayed due to the property not being completed on time which is completely out of Luke’s hands, however once it was completed we had no communication from luke regarding completion. We also have seen that linden homes tried to contact him multiple times to start completion proceedings and he also wouldn’t get back to them either.
On the day of completion it got to 4pm and we still hadn’t heard anything from Jackson’s so we rang luke, we couldn’t get through and got through to a lovely and helpful lady by the name of Tracy. Tracy advised she was sure completion went ahead but will try and contact luke and get him to phone us.
Half an hour later we had a call back from Tracy to advise completion didn’t go ahead due to Luke making an error on the help to buy forms, putting the completion date as 12th instead of the 10th. Luke should have phoned us at the first instance to advise completion has been delayed to keep us updated, but as always we received no update from him.
Tracy advised Luke will chase help to buy to see what can be done and will contact us back. Later we received a call from linden homes asking when we want to go pick up our keys. They advised us we had completed and purchased the property and were shocked to hear no one had contacted us.
To this day we have not received a call, email, text or letter regarding completion or any further update since the call with Tracy. The service we have received from Jackson’s law has been shocking and absolutely disgusting. Buying your first home is supposed to bs a special moment which has been ruined by their service.
The lack of communication from Jackson’s law has been appalling, they have basically completed the purchase, took payment from us and then completed forgot we existed. No confirmation that anything has gone through and no congratulations either.
Absolutely fantastic service.
Absolutely fantastic service.
Having recently moved home for the first time in 21 years, I'd forgotten how stressful it can be. However, the team at Jacksons, made it so much easier. Very friendly, professional and responded instantly to any queries or requests for support.
We would highly recommend to anyone for any legal services.
Excellent customer service!
We can't recommend Jacksons Law Stockton more highly. We recently used their conveyancing service to secure our dream home and they were fantastic. Kristee Brown and Lucy Dawes went above and beyond to ensure our case was as stress-free and swift as possible whilst paying close attention to every detail during the process and communicating with us throughout. There were no delays, in fact they surprised us over and over with how efficient and speedy they were when we needed them to be. After having negative experiences with other less reliable solicitors, Jacksons underlined how important it is to choose the right conveyancer when buying a house, they are the best of the best and we cant thank them enough.
Alison & Dave Tuckett.
