Great experience with Ryan and Kirsten while buying my first home. Kirsten showed us around the house to begin with and was friendly and helpful, giving us plenty of time and space to look around but equally ready to answer any questions we had; didn't feel rushed or pressured at all. Ryan has been fantastic with all other aspects so far; from arranging the viewing through to negotiating, confirming and finalising the offer, he's been really quick, thorough and reassuring with all of my questions and gone the extra mile to get everything done. Really grateful to the team for all of the support provided so far - very professional and highly recommended. Thank You!

Having been a landlord for over 10 years, and had multiple agencies support with lettings over the years which has been challenging to say the least! James Dean have been fantastic - especially with competence, personality and professionalism! Joe H in particular has been an actual super star, and genuinely don't know what we would do with out him helping us with our properties and tenants.

Fantastic estate agents. So helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Sadly at this point no houses suitable for us but as an agency they are flawless, friendly and helpful and knowledgeable and highly reccomended.

Both parts of our house move were handled by James Dean (Richard and Lucy in Builth Wells (selling), David and Gwen in Brecon (buying). The marketing of our property was flawless and the first viewing purchased! Lucy was an absolute stalwart of chasing progress and keeping us informed (whilst maintaining a great sense of humour throughout). Likewise, David and Gwen were always accommodating of our requests to visit, and revisit, our soon to be new home in Brecon. All now complete and happy with all aspects of the James Dean service. Nothing ever seemed too much trouble for any of the team. If we were to ever move again we’d certainly approach James Dean without question. Highly recommended.

Recently moved out from a property rented through James Dean (Brecon). All throughout James Dean (especially Victoria and Caroline) have been very professional.

If an issue occurred, it would be assessed and dealt with swiftly.

If delays (minor) did occur, we would be well informed, and always felt like valuable tenants. Would definitely recommend renting through James Dean .. they will have your back!

Richard Close of James Dean acted for me as agent when seeking a purchaser for a 2nd floor flat. Due to delays with solicitors and the probate office, the sale took almost a year to complete.
Throughout that time Richard was helpful, patient, friendly, and responded promptly to enquiries.
He accommodated the proposing purchaser on 3 lengthy visits to view the flat. He was never in a hurry to close a consultation and he kept me fully up to date on developments, something my solicitor did not do.

I very rarely write reviews but felt compelled to do so because of the high standard of service I received whilst purchasing a property with James Dean. Richard was wonderful to deal with during quite a tricky purchase. Helpful, communicative and full of recommendations for local solicitors, surveyors, removal companies and lots more. I would recommend James Dean to friends and family.

I have no hesitation in recommending James Dean The Estate Agents, especially Richard Close. The whole team worked with great patience and diligence to achieve a difficult house sale for us in a most professional manner and with very reasonable fees. Lucy was extra helpful while I was looking for a Buy to Let in Llandod. She flagged new rental regs and recommended trades after I completed. There are a few hurdles around safety certificates / conveyancing also takes ages atm! Not all sellers are responsive, so a good agent knows when to nudge and intervene. I would happily recommend Lucy as a supportive agent to get on board with. Not all transactions flow as we would like so it matters! Thanks Lucy ;)

If you are looking for a positive Estate Agent then James Dean, in particular Richard and Lucy, then this is the Agent for you.

Richard Close and team were on top of everything and kept me fully informed throughout the selling process. Their professional approach throughout was faultless.
Any delays were solely down to the purchaser and his lawyers, who failed to be informative or helpful as the sale progressed, but with the skilful negotiating and continual support from Richard and staff, the sale was brought to a satisfactory conclusion.
What a difference from my experience when originally purchasing the property. At that time I had asked the Vendor’s selling Agents, Chancellors of Llandrindod Wells if they could recommend a local law firm to handle the Conveyancing for me as a cash purchaser. I was told that Chancellors had an in-house law firm they could recommend. That firm were not local at all, but based in Bedford, and were completely useless.
Then it took from November to the following April to finally complete on the purchase, with little by way of explanation or input from either the recommended lawyers, or the selling agents, and during that frustrating time I was contacted by a “Sales Progression Executive” working for Chancellors who knew nothing at all about my proposed purchase, or the property, and who subsequently ‘progressed’ nothing at all. That entire experience was a nightmare as a result.
Thankfully when it came to selling, I had done my research and seen James Dean boards go up, then show a sold sign shortly afterwards, and it was clear there was only one firm of Estate Agents operating in the Mid Wales area worth talking to. I was not proved wrong.
To anyone seeking an opinion, I can thoroughly recommend James Dean’s Builth Wells office as being the ‘go to’ Agents to handle a property sale. You will not be disappointed.

The agency is allowing the letting process to be similar to the job interview process. After viewing the property customers are submitting applications. The landlord receives all applications and chooses the candidate. Visiting the property even from far away and being interested in taking it does not guarantee that you will be the chosen one. Agency will not care that you wasted your time and money in arriving to view the property. They only accommodate landlord wishes and own business. I would be embarrassed to allow such practice to take place either as a landlord or an agent. I would understand such a process if the landlord will be paying me for staying at the property. Isn't it the other way around? I have to be chosen! Have you gone mad?! It is revolting, how can you treat people like this? I hope one day you will become a victim of what you are creating! Shame on you!
Readers, if you have any shred of self-respect left in yourself object to such practice or allow yourself to be treated like rubbish.
The landlord chooses the tenant. You are chosen to stay and pay rent! I can't believe it! LOL :)

Lucy at Builth was brilliant, she helped us all the way through our purchase and kept us informed as things progressed especially when there were niggles that needed overcoming - we love this house but if we ever move - we'll be using this company and lucy in particular
