Very professional and honest dealership. I have great experience with them. Highly recommended. Thank you so much. I can’t wait to get my next car from this dealership.

Complete scam, I was sold a car with engine management light coming up 10min after I drove away. Later when I send the car to garage, there was multiple issue with suspension and wheel bearing. I called them but they insulted me and did not agree to fix the issue. Even swear through the phone and threatened me not to sue them. Avoid at all cost

Stay away from these guys.
They sell absolutely fu**ed up cars. Car sales owned by Albanians? I bought a car recently and took it for a service today. Looks like I have to spend close to 4k to get all the works done; brake discs, pads, oil leak, sensor faults, you name it. Never buy a car from these guys. They just sell dodgy cars.

Rough and aggressive sounding on the phone. Big red flag. Won't bother to view the car. Reading these reviews I now know why all real reviews are 1 star with 5 star reviews all fake. Avoid.
Warranty, what warranty?
I purchased a bmw 740e on the 26th August. The care came with a 3 month warranty. 1 month in I had a drivetrain fault appear and the car wouldn't start. I contacted the garage who told me to return the car for them to have a look. How can I do that when it won't start. I live 80 miles away! I got my local garage to collect it and had a replacement starter motor at a cost of £750. The garage then refused to help cover this cost under the warranty and to be honest we're very rude about it.
Absolutely Despicable
Absolutely Despicable – Avoid at All Costs
I was sold a faulty and unsafe car by this dealership, despite being assured there were no issues. Within days I discovered multiple serious problems, confirmed by an independent service I paid for myself. It was obvious they had carried out botched “repairs” just to get the car off their forecourt.
I emailed repeatedly asking for help under my Consumer Rights Act – which clearly gives me the right to a refund – and was ignored. When I turned up in person, instead of professionalism I was screamed at to “get the f* out.”** I have young children and they knowingly sold me an unsafe vehicle.
It’s shocking that they are still allowed to operate. To make matters worse, it’s clear the positive reviews on here are fake — they all appear in clusters straight after someone posts a negative one.
I am now taking legal action against this garage. As a young woman I have been treated with complete disrespect, lied to, and put in danger. Please, do not make the same mistake I did. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS.
Avoid this place like the plague.
Avoid this place like the plague.
Rude, dishonest, and utterly negligent — I was sold a car with a leaking tyre, overinflated wheels, brake discs and pads “completely f*cked” (engineer’s words, not mine), and a windscreen that needs replacing before winter. Promises of a service were empty, communication was aggressive, and after-sales support was non-existent.
My experience with James Richards Car Sales in Stevenage has been nothing short of appalling, from the very first phone call to the moment the car was dumped on my driveway with multiple issues.
When I first called, the person answering the phone couldn’t even be bothered to state the business name — just a disinterested “hello” that made me wonder if I’d dialled the wrong number. The tone throughout the call was rude and abrasive. When I politely asked for the full service history, I was treated like I was making some outrageous demand. The history stated the car was due a service in just 2 days, so I asked if, should I pay a deposit, they would service it before delivery. I was told yes. Unsurprisingly, when the car arrived there was no evidence whatsoever of a service having been carried out, and my follow-up messages on this were ignored completely.
When I explained that my final payment would take 7–9 days to clear (and paid a deposit to secure the car), I was harassed with calls and texts chasing payment within the agreed timeframe — including on the 7th day, despite me making it clear it could be day 8 or 9. When I asked what would happen if there was a further delay, I was told my deposit would not be refunded — an outright refusal that is not only unethical but likely unlawful. When I challenged this, I was met with aggressive defensiveness, accused of “arguing” and told to “calm down.”
Their website advertises “nationwide free delivery,” but I was quoted £120 for a 25-hour delivery slot. After paying in full, I was told delivery would “probably” be 48 hours, and in reality it took 49. The car arrived with two chips in the windscreen, a tyre visibly leaking sealant (clearly a bodged attempt to mask a pressure problem), and the tyre pressure warning light on from the moment I started the engine. Upon further inspection, I discovered all four tyres were overinflated by 10 PSI — a basic safety check that any competent dealer should carry out. To me, this shows either a complete lack of attention or a worrying lack of knowledge, both of which are deeply concerning. The windscreen with the 2 chips in it was also secured to the car with what I can only describe at bathroom silicone or something similar. This has created a complete mess at the top of the windscreen. An obvious bodge job.
I then paid out of my own pocket to have the car properly serviced, only to be told that both rear brake discs and pads were, in the exact words of the service engineer, “completely f*cked.” On top of that, I was advised the windscreen would need replacing before winter. For a vehicle supposedly “ready to drive,” this level of neglect is utterly unacceptable.
Had there been anything more serious wrong with the car I would have had no qualms in returning it under the 14-day cooling off for distance purchases, as would have been my statutory right. But I just didn't want to communicate with these cowboys any longer.
This company’s communication is unprofessional, their promises are worthless, and their after-sales care is non-existent. Based on my experience, I would strongly advise avoiding James Richards Car Sales entirely unless you want to be left with a vehicle you can’t trust and a business that couldn’t care less.

Avoid – Unprofessional and Misleading Sales Tactics
I purchased a Mercedes GL for £13,000 from this dealership and had serious issues from the start. The experience has been frustrating, expensive, and completely lacking in customer support.
1. Car Delivered With No Fuel
The car ran out of fuel in their own car park before I could leave. When I asked for help, the salesman refused, stating “it’s Sunday” and that he couldn’t leave the premises. No apology was given—he just handed me his own car keys to get fuel and moved on to the next sale.
2. Coolant Leak Ignored Under Warranty
Within 48 hours, I had to top up coolant 3–4 times due to a clear leak. I called five times seeking help under the warranty. Nobody called me back. The salesman was rude and unhelpful, refusing even to provide a manager’s name.
3. Misrepresented Service History
The car was sold with a “fresh oil and filter change” noted in the service book, but my local garage confirmed both were old and had not been changed. I had to pay £494 out of pocket to fix the coolant leak and replace the oil and filter.
Despite written requests for reimbursement, the dealership has refused to take responsibility.
Final Note:
This was not just a routine purchase—I needed a reliable vehicle quickly for essential family responsibilities. Instead, I was met with indifference, dishonesty, and a complete lack of accountability. No customer should be treated this way.
I do not recommend buying from this business. Poor ethics, false advertising, and zero customer standards .

I recently visited JR and the happy from this
I recently visited JR and the experience was impressive from start to finish. The showroom was clean, well-organized, and showcased a wide range of vehicles, from budget-friendly models to high-end luxury cars. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and not overly pushy, which made the browsing experience comfortable. Test drive arrangements were smooth, and all my questions were answered clearly. Overall, a great place to explore options and make a confident car-buying decision. I especially liked the support and advice from the consultant Inessa. You can feel the great experience and professionalism.

After them having my car for a month…
After them having my car for a month for repair, they finally said it was ready. It was diagnosed with piston slap by a jaguar dealership, and the dealer denied this was a fault on the vehicle. It also needed a new adblue injector. This was done.
I went through to collect my vehicle and was automatically met with the salesman being rude and smug. He edged me out of the building as he had potential customers inside. He refused to give me my keys after multiple times of me asking for them. I gave them my car in an immaculate condition with 3/4 tank of diesel. When I got there, my car was absolutely filthy inside and out. They gave me my car back with 502 extra miles on the clock and an empty tank and cigarette ash all over my vehicle. I done even smoke in it, so i dont know what gives them the right to do so! So somebody has been driving around in my car, the whole time there was no MOT certificate on the car. I was offered no explanation, no apology apart from £40 to get some diesel. Every single interaction with these has been negative. I will be giving them their 5 minutes of fame as I will be going to the press about these! They have to be stopped
