Great instructer, good understanding and communicaion

Excellent HGV Training – Highly Recommended

I trained with Liam for my HGV licence and couldn’t be happier with the experience. Liam is extremely knowledgeable, patient, and professional, making everything easy to understand even if you’re new to HGV driving.

The training was well-structured, calm, and confidence-building. Liam explains things clearly, focuses on safety, and gives practical tips that really help on test day and beyond. The vehicle was well maintained and the whole process felt organised and stress-free.

I passed thanks to the high standard of training and would highly recommend J Coates to anyone looking for reliable, high-quality HGV training.

Chris made the course very enjoyable his knowledge is excellent couldn’t ask for a better person to do my cpc course with.

I found the CPC course was very easy to follow Chris the tutor was very knowledgeable and made the course a pleasure to be on.

She made me feel very relaxed and comfortable while learning to drive a rigid. The feedback from her was clear and precise. Due to her coaching I was able to pass my tests first time. I can't thank her enough.

Had a great experience learning at their St Albans branch. Lewis is a great instructor, patient, friendly, knowledgeable and professional. He really put me at ease when I started, considering I’d never driven a hgv before. He taught me from start to finish and guided me through every step. His experience and knowledge is second to none. I passed first time with only one minor, all thanks to him. A real asset.
If your thinking of getting into the world of hgv driving, I’d highly recommend J Coats, they book your medical and theory tests for you and are very helpful with any other questions you may have.

I used J Coates for my class 2 training and with everything step of the way, from my medical, booking and passing my theory and hazard perception tests with the learning guides supplied, through the reverse training and eventually on to my driving test, was done to the highest professional level.
Front Alec, through to Liam, who taught me to drive professionally and patiently, was a credit to this company.
I passed both my theory and hazard perception tests with high scores and my driving test with zero minors.

From no experience to a pass first try, couldn’t recommend enough. Sorted all my medical,theory test and practical training quickly through email. My instructor Kelly was amazing, I had no previous experience in a large vehicle but her patience,support and guidance gave me the skills and confidence I needed. The instructors at J Coates are a great bunch of guys and very patient and knowledgeable throughout. Tristan was a big help for my class 1 reversing training but despite the help I just couldn’t get my head around it. I had to resit and Lewis continued and we got it done. Both helped with that.

Then on to my week with Lewis teaching me how to drive the class 1. Great week with a great instructor keeping everything simple and to the point in teaching how to do things. Encouraging all week but when it’s needed he kicks your arse to do the right things. A good balance which I needed. I passed my class 1 first time round.

I'm brand new into the world of HGV and J Coates have looked after me very well. Alec Steer has guided me through the requirements, the reversing course team were super flexible when I forgot my licence & let me fetch it and Liam Daisley, my instructor was really superb. Calm and friendly instruction really put me at ease. Would recommend them if you need any HGV training
