strongly doubt a racist situation I came across
I had an awful experience in Cardiff JD and it has been over 30 days the manager and customer service didn't help me. PLEASE DO NOT BELIEVE THEY WOULD SOLVE YOU ANY PROBLEMS. THEY JUST LEFT THIS FAKE REPLY BELOW AND WILL NOT DO ANYTHING.
I did chase my case (I strongly doubt it is a racist situation I came across) over 5 times already and left my name, email and phone number. No one got back to me at all. Terrible.

Poor customer service
Became a member not realising the awkward location of the gym that part is totally my fault but trying to speak to someone to cancel my membership is impossible, the email on the contract recommended for cancellations is not a valid email and spend hours ringing the customer service number without success.

Almost get what you pay for
Cheap and a great location. Staff seem friendly enough and the gym seems reasonably clean. Ok free weights area but a limited number of resistance machines - which you’ll spend a lot of time queuing for as the gym gets very busy in peak times, especially during term times. Often groups of 3 or 4 friends monopolising each machine for long periods. Lift has been out of order for weeks. Changing rooms not bad - but the (too hot) showers are awful as there’s no way to control the temperature. Sauna would be a nice touch if cooling down afterwards was an option.

Bike robbery
As I’m about to walk in with my electric scooter I see a guy masked up running out of the gym with a bike but I ignored it and walked in. I then see 2 guys fighting. One guy who had blood on his face was telling me to get out so I got on my scooter and left straight away. DO NOT go here unless you don’t care about your vehicle because the JD gym workers certainly do not.

Amazing gym!
Amazing gym, so much more equipment than my last gym. I feel since joining this gym my routines have become much more fun and interesting!!
Would highly recommend this gym over any gym if you are able to get there.

Rowing machines need fixing
all the equipment is top class however as i am a rower i noticed that the calibration of the rowing machines was not correct and the screens had some damage done to them

Staff do undertake regular maintenance checks and work hard with our equipment providers to ensure that our equipment is fixed as soon as possible, if any should be broken. We are equally as disappointed when this happens and sometimes need to wait on engineers but will have all equipment in full working order as soon as is safely possible. If you have any concerns about equipment, please notify staff on site as soon as you can.

The equipments are ordinary and there are only 1 equipment for each exercise e.g. chest press, Leg Press, Leg Curls , Chest fly. Hence it is difficult to do exercise and have to wait for others to finish.
Would recommend to increase the machines so that people can exercise freely.

Evening classes overlap
The gym is great but I am a bit disappointed as there are not many classes to choose from and the ones in the evenings overlap so I cannot take more than one. Please!!
