Very helpful staff and exiting to have a sauna! 🤗

Welcoming gym, lots of cardio equipment and free weights. Good range of machines but limited availability at times. Friendly staff and a good choice of PTs on site. Changing rooms, showers, and saunas are all well-maintained. Recommend for beginners and experienced gym-goers alike

Found it difficult to use the app for me to get in but a member of staff did it all for me and sorted it out.

Jd gyms is a great gym with no pressure whether it be training, joining or if its not for you cancelling

I went to JD Gyms Castleford today, and I always use the sauna after my workouts, and today I had a lot of issues with it, the light was on, but the sauna was switched off, so I attempted to call JD Gyms Castleford phone number, as I wasn't decent to go downstairs as I was in my swimsuit, I phones 7 times without any answer for any of the attempted phone calls. I have done this method before to tell reception that the sauna wasn't on, and they have always come up to the ladies sauna and switched it back on, however today I had 7 failed phone call attempts, then a cleaning lady, thought she had fixed it bless her, and that it would kick in, in 10 mins, anyways I waited 10 minutes and it still wasn't working, all she could do was apologies, so she said she would tell reception, and she came back to only tell me, that the manager said that I would have to wait, how rude is that! I was waiting about trying to phone for 15 minutes, to only wait another 10, for her to say I would have to wait!

I have no idea who this person is, but I have never felt any less important than I have today, JD Gyms staff are usually pleasant, but today the 24th Of September, I have has the most unpleasant experience, I just wanted to put this out there, as I don't like the companies chose of management! Abundance of benches and squat racks so little need to wait for availability, Wide variety of machines, clean toilets which others gyms in the area don’t have, good music, nice views of the snow slope.

Only reason for 4/5 is you need QR code to enter the gym which requires wifi access and a phone to be on your person. Would rather have a code to input however I’m aware this could create a social membership ie., many people using the same membership access.

Don’t like gyms but pushed myself to join. Hannah Banks has been absolutely fantastic, putting my mind at rest and making me feel at ease.

Rude & childish management, dirty gym, very dated and dirty equipment, dirty changing rooms, showers including the sauna........

I joined the gym in Castleford a few weeks ago as I'd seen the video online (it's nothing like it please save your money and don't sign up) the place is embarrassing not a cleaning cloth, paper towels, or spray anywhere and when I asked if I could have some to wipe someone else's sweat off the machine I was told no due to cost savings we don't offer it! Wait, what am I supposed to bring my own cleaning materials? This was also noted in the spin class I tried, bikes were faulty, old and smelled I could not clean them before or after use.

I was told when I joined that they normally open 10 mins early which is great as that helps me get to work on time however this week 40 plus people were left outside as no one bothered to turn up and open up the gym........ then because someone complained the next day we were all told sorry but the manager is upset because someone reported them and has said no one is allowed until after 6 to prove a point eventually at 6.05 the doors were unlocked and 30 plus people forced to queue to get through the turnstiles.

You will not be getting another month's subscription and not what you would expect from a brand like JD.

The gym has plenty of equipment, and has great opening hours. The quality and state of repair of some of the equipment is not however very good. There are pins missing from machines. The machines are rickety and difficult to adjust, with very worn pads. The toilets and changing rooms are also not very clean. The toilets especially. There is also rarely a member of staff to be seen for assistance.

Gym good for beginners and experienced

Not enough showers for such a big gym, also no clock in view when in the sauna ...apart from that it's amazing

Good selection of classes included in membership, open to all abilities which is good when just starting out.
Lots of equipment but very popular during pre-work and post-work hours so best to have alternatives for any personalised work outs otherwise you might be waiting a while.

Everything is fine and don't have any problems

It’s not a crazy busy gym , with lots of choices of exercises , a bit of everything i would say. Only few downfalls are : the fact that i haven’t seen tap water yet anywhere around the gym floor, maybe i missed it , the racks with the extensions for the exercise machines are actually boxes but are there at least ,and it’s taking them quite a bit to repair the broken station will do with a bit more cable machine as i’v seen they always busy but in the same time because of the space , you would have to replace another machine , so really not bothered as much .
Strongly recommend to try it before you make yourself any ideas.
