I am happy to have joined and feel the first month £10 deal was great.
The ladies only section of the gym has a lack of weights machines that girls would use, ie leg press.
Otherwise great gym, good choice of classes and xander from Cumbernauld gym was extremely helpful and polite.

Fantastic gym with a good variety of new, clean equipment. Location is so ideal for bus users or those already in the shopping centre. Very small women’s only section which is also great and reassuring. Staff super friendly!

My rating is not based on the gym itself. I'm sure the facilities are fantastic, staff will be nice and it will be a clean environment if it's like the old "exercise 4 less" that it replaced then 5 star. This review is to do with payment and fraud ish behaviour.
I had a membership with exercise 4 less. When the company went "under", I assumed my membership did also. During covid, the gym reopened in April as JD. I recieved one email that I figured was spam... I noticed in November I had been charged £20 per month for 7/8 months for a gym I didnt know I was a member. I wrote, sent several complaints... Nada.
I think it is extremely unfair, I got zero texts, emails, calls, anything. I didn't sign a contract. On top of this my membership with exercise 4 less was 10 pound per month. Not £20. Now I have cancelled, I am absolutely bombarded with texts and emails. It is border-line harassment. The gym is comparable to a girlfriend that doesn't want me, but also doesn't want anyone to have me lol
Seems pretty shawdy that they were happy taking my money. My login would prove I never entered the gym. No reimbursement, no free gym to compensate even though in court they have zero grounds in any shape or form. Would have been easily solved. Felt like I'm sort of peeing against the wind though, getting the impression the complaints team is being monitored by Stevie Wonder.
Poor show JD Gyms. I mentioned if we could not come to an agreement I'd have to give a fair review. You forced my hand

Loving the gym and all the equipment, staff are very friendly and helpful. Only negative is having to bring your own padlock for your locker. I bought one and it wouldn't fit.

Great gym in terms of equipment and space however their adherance to COVID 19 guidelines is poor. I will say this is more the clients than the gym but it is up to the gym staff to enforce the wearing of masks and the wiping down of equipment after use.... something I have yet to see being done! This is poor regardless of COVID!!!

Impressive equipment, big gym, local authority gyms are expensive and don’t have same amount, variety or quality of equipment or customer service.
You get better quality customer service and equipment for your with JD compared to the local authority gym.

This is a fantastic gym with everything you need for any kind of training. 10/10

Good selection of equipment however, a lot of them are pretty old, few machines aren’t working. £20 per month is way too much for what JD Gyms in Cumbernauld is offering, quite disappointing.

Very freindly and helpful staff, plenty of equipment, very very clean facilities. Customers could be more proactive in cleaning down any equipment they use for the next person to use. But ,all in all a gym for everyone, at any fitness level, very welcoming team, would certainly recommend.

You say mask must be worn when walking between stations, I don't see this plus the treadmills & cross trainers are not a meter apart.

Myself and my husband have been trying to CANCEL this membership since April this year, received a standard email saying they would get back to us, still taking the payments at the end of July, so had to call the Bank and cancel the DD, and put in a claim to get the payments back, oh and BTW when I took the membership on it was the Off Peak at 9.99 but they are taking 19.99 each for me and my husband, absolutely shocking business practice, bad communication and trickery with the wording of their emails, first email correspondence was 'we are sorry you are Thinking about cancelling your membership' eh! No I'm not thinking about doing anything, I specifically told them I want to cancel 3 months ago, this is theft to continue to take payments, even the Bank said they are really bad just now, so a word of advise tell them on your email you are giving them 30 days notice to quit taking payments then call your bank and cancel the DD, then email them back to confirm you have actioned the DD cancelation.
Then find another gym if you decide to take it up again
