Great facilities and staff are friendly and helpful.
I joined this gym at the end of December 2023, I have not been inside a gym for 30years and I didn’t have a clue what I was doing, I had a lovely young man called Jacob came over to help me just to get in the turnstile,
I was trying to book a induction on line but couldn’t find anything to do that, so I mentioned this to Jacob and with that he said no problem I will help you, so with that after I got changed this young man showed me all around the gym, and how I should be using the equipment.
A induction would of been very helpful but thank goodness you have great members of staff to help me

Great gym and at great price and super flexible which is what I'm looking for! The team were really helpful and would 100% recommend to anyone!
Left after 1 session as the lockers don’t work and can be easily opened despite padlocking.
Then got no reply from JD gyms regarding the issue.

I've have been using the Harlow gym for several years, in fact I joined when it was the previous owner. I echo what the previous post said about the time it takes to fix things, but in addition, I have an issue with the locker room. Several lockers are unusable and some people have decided to OWN a locker by keeping a lock on it forever. Not only is this selfish, but also a security risk. A terrorist could easily pack a locker with explosive and blow up the whole Harvey centre. Before you say that this is far fetched, it has been done in the past. That is why you do not see lockers in stations any more. The notice says that lockers will be emptied every night but this does not happen. I have raised this issue before and been told that if there are no lockers, I could leave my clothes in the staff room.. That is such a cop out. I was in the gym at 8 at the weekend and counted 23 lockers padlocked by selfish individuals and as I say many of the others are wrecked, so come on JD get the bolt cutters out and put a stop to this greedy practice
Following the above, I had a phone call agreeing with my points and promising that these rogue padlocks would be cut off that night. Well, that night has been and gone and nothing has been done. Why am I not surprised. JD should go into politics promising things and not delivering. 3 days and counting let's see if anyone can be bothered to put things right!
The is so many equipments and staff help you with anything it’s so nice and easy

I used to really enjoy coming to JD Gyms Harlow. But of recent you have cancelled my favourite class Cardio Dance with no like for like replacement. This was one of the most empowering classes on the timetable, with the most community feel! It also challenged a more able bodied person like myself every week. I’m very disappointed in your decision to cancel a class that was an asset to your gym. The dance classes you now hold are so disjointed with no variety for the more fitter member needing something more challenging. I only can only see one evening class I would attend now-if that. There are 4 Zumba classes on the timetable, and two of these are held by the same instructor with the same low impact routines every evening on every class showing no real technique (with no classic warm up and this is not okay). If you are going to provide 4 of these Zumba classes there should be a mixture of both levels of difficulty in your evening classes or morning classes each week. As members like myself can mostly only attend classes in an evening around work I am very underwhelmed which the choice I have now.
I mainly use the gym for classes and a small section of weights, I’m very much considering terminating my membership if the management does not take note and change the timetable as I’m not inspired or excited by any classes here anymore.
I've been at JD gym for a week now. I have trained at other various gyms for the last 10 years so have a wide experience of different places. I have to say overall it's a decent gym. Good equipment and layout. The only downsides are the extreme temperatures in there during the summer. It's just so hot in there. Constantly sweating and feeling uncomfortable. Alot of members say the same thing and it's the number one thing I've heard other people say about the gym. I'll gove it until Xmas to see how it goes but if it remains as hot as this I'll have to leave. It's a shame because other than that it's a good gym. Fair price wise for what you get. Just add some better Air con and you'll have a member for many years.

Jd gym is the best place for you to get your body back to where you need
Easy to get on the machine I wanted to most of the time, did what I needed to do and left. Only issue was the car park ticket validation which didn't work
Only just joined the Gym 6days ago, attended 3days so far, I feel that the Gym is well maintained and nice atmosphere. There is good customer service and hygiene materials are equipped. Did not have to pay joining fee, so it is helpful when you need to have a break from the gym or you go back to your country for a month. Just cancel it and join again, that I am hoping.
Very helpful on arrival the pet showed me around and talked me through my membership
