Myself and my daughter love Jenny’s Zumba and yoga classes. Jenny is so friendly and full of energy and she makes the classes so enjoyable. Looking forward to her Pilates classes too.

Few days into new membership. More plate loaded machines definitely needed. Would be more beneficial than the amount of bar benches currently in gym. Gym is very busy, luckily I can avoid peak times.... See more

JD gyms Newport is a great gym especially because of the ‘women’s only’ gym section. Also their classes are amazing! My favorite would be Zumba because of the lovely instructor, Jenny. She makes every class lively and fun while we sweat it out haha.

I was really nervous starting the gym the manager I think her name is natalie helped by giving good advice and just being friendly and a good person

The lockers need a refurbish. There is no reception area to talk to staff if you need to. The rubber mats aren't cleanable. You can't wipe them down.

Great to see Jenny's yoga back on Sunday evening, really enjoy her classes. Her friendly and professional approach really encourages me as novice to yoga. Would like to see more sessions in the week too.
Really like the 'walk in' sessions JD gym Newport offers.

Yoga is extremely important to me, and Jenny’s classes are truly special — we waited a long time for her. That’s why it’s really disappointing that yoga is offered only once a week. It should be available at least 2–3 times a week.
I also miss Jenny’s Zumba classes — her energy and teaching style are unique, and the current schedule feels like a big step backwards.
I truly hope Jenny will have more classes soon, because so many of us are really waiting for her.

Nice equipment and classes. My favourite class is Jenny’s Yoga Class on Sunday evenings! I love yoga and evening classes are a lot more convenient for me. I also really enjoy Karli’s Body Combat classes in the evening!
Their classes are the only reason I come to JD! I hope to see more classes from Jenny in the future because she’s only on the rota once a week at the moment.

Love Jenny's yoga class on a Sunday evening. I was a little sceptical to start with - didn't think it would be much of a workout, but how wrong was I ..... it's amazing how much of your body gets used in this class. I ache as much the next day as if I'd done a full zumba workout!!! Give it a try if you have never done it - you'll be pleasantly surprised - as was I :-) Jenny makes it look easy - but it is not; which makes me want to keep coming back for more and to improve.

Monthly membership keeps going up equipment is dated and on its last legs Clueless staff that only seem to enforce the gym rules on selected members ( not on PTs or friends ) .. .. And way too many idiots with tripods .

Moved over from pure gym. Much better range & amount of equipment & such a better atmosphere

I find the staff helpful and knowledgeable. The gym and other area's are clean and tidy.
Surprised there are no paper towels or water stations unless I haven't found them yet.🙄

To cancel my membership because of slipped disc I need to pay for next month, because they need 21 day. It’s ridiculous.

Love JD gyms in Newport! Great selection of classes, perfect for getting me exercising. Love spin classes and especially Jenny’s zumba. Jenny is super fun and welcoming, and I leave the class smiling and feeling energised every time. Big thanks to JD gyms and a big shout out to Jenny!

It started poorly as the 2 people on site weren’t helpful.
I asked for information on the 1sr visit and they told me to go online. I requested a call back nobody called. Then when I joined I asked for an induction and booked in for 12 Midday they didn’t ask my name and when I attended they told me where cardio was where weight were and the changing room. I wanted to know about the equipment they said it is on each machine. And that was it. I couldn’t get a pad lock as the vending machine wasnt working. They said it sometimes happened and did say I could leave my stuff in the office. The lightening is very poor in the changing room and you have no chance of seeing the code on a coded pad lock . Anyway fast forward and the instructor in the classes are amazing. Then joe showed me around after I told him the experience I had. So I would recommend speaking to Joe when you join.

I’ve been attending Jenny’s Thursday evening Pilates class for almost 2 years, and need to say how much better I feel physically just through this one class.
Jenny is very warm and was extremely welcoming right from the start, even though I’m clearly not the typical class member. Though initially quite tough, I now look forward to the sessions, and in fact feel that I’m missing out if I have to skip one.
Just wanted to say thanks to Jenny for her support and encouragement, and to say to others who are contemplating giving Pilates a try, that it is well worth it.

I have recently rejoined JD in Newport solely so I can do Zumba and Pilates with Jenny. I had left after wanting a gym with a pool but realised I missed the Zumba family too much.
Hopefully the price doesn’t go up any more though.

Price keeps creeping up every few months to the degree that it won’t be worth it. Good size gym overall but lacks Sauna, steam room, jacuzzi etc. which is fine but if the price goes up anymore( £35 pm ) then you might as well pay for somewhere like Bannatyne’s where you do get the all of these extras for practically the same price
