Myself and my daughter love Jenny’s Zumba and yoga classes. Jenny is so friendly and full of energy and she makes the classes so enjoyable. Looking forward to her Pilates classes too.

Few days into new membership. More plate loaded machines definitely needed. Would be more beneficial than the amount of bar benches currently in gym. Gym is very busy, luckily I can avoid peak times.... See more

Lovely clean gym, good community atmosphere with plenty of classes and even a female only area. What more could you want!

I am enjoying the flexibility of attending classes when it suits, so far I have attended 3 Zumba and Pilataes The instructors are friendly, the facility is busy but all clients are helpful. Easy to park with no parking fee.

Good range of equipment- well maintained. Nice clean changing rooms/showers
Helpful staff- what’s not to like!
A couple of times had an issue with the turnstile not letting me all the way through and it’s not possible to reuse the app straight away to gain entry/exit when that happens. Otherwise great value for money .

So far so good, though just wish there was more equipment and space in the ladies only area.

Jenny’s zumba classes are the highlight of this gym! Every Tuesday and Thursday my friends and I look forward to joining Jenny for a lively combo of Latin, salsa and pop dances (which all have brilliantly fun routines and challenge us each week!)
Jenny’s fantastic energy and welcoming nature make the classes so successful, and she’s created such a warm and friendly community which is so fun to be a part of! You always know you’re going to be greeted with a smiling face when you enter one of Jenny’s classes (she’s even smiling while the rest of us are panting and catching our breath!)
I was disappointed to hear that there won’t be any classes in the Cwmbran gym, so desperately want to make sure it’s clear to JD Newport how much these classes are valued and should be kept!!

I love going to the classes, my favourite are Zumba, Yoga and Pilates!! I go to all Zumba classes and the room is always full. I love dancing with everyone, it’s always so fun. The same with Yoga and Pilates. Yoga is so relaxing and it helps me with my flexibility. I really enjoy Pilates and it helps me build my core strength :)
To improve, I’d like to see an increase of frequency in Pilates classes. I like the number of Zumba classes in a week. I think it would be nice to have another yoga session too because at the moment they’re on Sundays and Mondays. It would be nice if there was one in the middle of the week.
Another point, it would be nice to have a hip thrust machine in the ladies gym. It would help me feel more comfortable :)

I like this gym, there’s a good variety of equipment. There is a women’s area although the selection in here is limited, I wish there was a hip thrust machine in here as I don’t really like to do this exercise in the main area as there is an overwhelming majority of men which can be slightly uncomfortable at times. I often go to Jenny’s classes, Zumba, Pilates, and yoga. I love these classes as they are so much fun and Jenny is an amazing instructor. I do wish there were some more of her classes through the week as there is only one Pilates class each week and two yoga which are on consecutive days. Maybe if there were three of each like Zumba, only if Jenny is willing of course. This gym is often very busy which can be a little frustrating but this should improve with the opening of the Cwmbran gym in the near future.

The gym is okay but the highlight would be the classes that is included with the membership. I especially enjoy Zumba with Jenny. She is a great instructor and gets everyone moving and is always energetic. Her classes are never boring. I have also done her Pilates and Yoga and she is very knowledgeable and helpful and encouraging.

I joined this gym over 2 years ago with my friend, who introduced me to Jenny's Zumba class and I've been hooked ever since! I've done Zumba classes in the past but I truly believe Jenny is the best instructor I've ever had. Her energy is infectious, her routines are fun and easy to follow, and she creates a positive and welcoming environment for everyone, whether you're new or experienced. Every class is a perfect balance of cardio, fun and feel-good vibes. Jenny makes working out something to look forward to.

Having to access the gym through the QR Code that needs to be connected to the internet instead of a pin like other gyms is incredibly frustrating and makes getting in and out of the gym quite difficult and a long process. The fact that the QR code can only be used once is also incredibly restricting if you wanted to go the gym multiple times during times the gym is less busy or if you've forgotten your water bottle inside. The changing rooms and shower facilities are only open during "opening hours" making it impossible to go the gym before work.

I recently joined the Newport JD gym & was impressed by the number of choices on the timetable however on my second day (wed 23rd) I attended JD burn @10;30 only for NO INSTRUCTOR to show. I was not informed of a cancellation & was extremely disappointed as I could have attended an earlier class. This could have knocked my confidence & enthusiasm as a new member & only my second visit. I hope these cancellation Do NOT continue

100% would recommend Jenny's Zumba class.. Jenny is amazing and it's so much fun. It's high energy, but all level welcoming and I leave feeling great every time. Jenny always remembers everyone and makes an effort to chat to us and keep us motivated. Love her! This is the highlight of my week!

Joined and arranged a 5pm induction with Newport Spytty gym yesterday. Arrived but there was no one there. Enquired in the office, was spoken to really rudely by the woman in there. Made me feel I was intruding in her gym by asking about the induction. She said there was no one there for the induction and went back to her computer. So I said I'd arranged it by email and hadn't just turned up unannounced, was told after several minutes silence that there was no PT until 6pm. No apology, nothing. I said so what do I do, just cancel, as I've arranged this for 5pm and no one explained there'd be no actual PT here at 5pm? I was told Ok. So, I have cancelled after spending 5 mins there. Today they've already debited a payment. Very poor service.
No privacy for men’s at all. Female staff member walk in to the changing room without ask for permission. Half naked men’s was confused and embarrassed same time. No notification on the door also about female staff attending men’s changing room. SHOCKING, will be tolerated if men’s walk into female changing room!!! I will made official complains to JD management
Just joined to try and get rid of the last of my excess weight, really easy to join and the personal trainers are easy to contact.
Parking is easy and plentiful. The cardio machines are plentiful, and there’s a useful ladies only section, although no water or windows in that area.
