The gym itself is great,
Trying to end a membership, horrific.
They make you send a request via their website which they don’t bother replying until after your next payment and if you cancel that payment, they’ll send an email within 5 minute threatening further payments. All I want to do is leave this bloody gym and now I’m being charged £40. Not the way to treat your brand or members.
And as the reply shows they just repeat themselves, I’ve done both the ticket (multiple times now) to no reply
And to their credit, the staff were friendly but they can’t necessary help in the matter of cancelling, especially since I’m in another country

I loved JD gym Rugby. Staff were really nice and helpful. One thing I would comment on is the slamming of weights. It can be really distracting during a workout when everyone’s slamming the weights. Overall, the only reason I cancelled my membership is because my holiday was over.

The quality of the classes is very poor. Overcrowded all the time. But when there's no choice...

Although Rugby JD gym has many cutting-edge machines, it lacks a variety of classes like step and dance.

The gym has improved so much since the last gym was there. So many different exercise machines, classes, weights and it is full of all age groups. It is very clean all around as well as changing area and toilets.

Fresh Air and clean all the time

The gym has a great feel to it, with the music at a good volume (good music too). Always busy enough to make you feel you’re with people but spread out enough so you don’t feel bothered. Loads of kit to play with, with very little waiting times. Staff have always been helpful 🙌🏽

Great facilities and equipment range didn't rate 5* as not quite perfect gym despite best gym all-round in rugby. I tried all equipment and 1 machine is slightly squeaky, could do with maintenance, lack of weight locks, can find but found it bit challenging some days & opening hours are great but prefer 24h gym, having moved from Birmingham area my previous gym PureGym hagley road was huge and 24h so couldn't rate 5* for overall. JD has additional boost of cathelitcs section and very helpful & friendly PTs

1) Car Park too small and very bad surface
2) Mens Changing rooms are too small and not enough benches
3) Some Weight machines are worn and uncomfortable.
4) Showers have no plug holes, i might be standing in someone's pee
5) Good Points - Big, open, quick and easy to get in.

Many various equipement.Changing rooms are nice and clean. Music too loud maybe and peuple not really tidy especially in the training rooms.But overall good gym!

The bench press seems off. Either the rack is too high or the bench is uneven

No 24/7 which is awful as 6am is so busy and you can’t avoid the crowd before work. If it opened at least at 4am and closed at mignught it would make sense.

To reduce the crowd then opening longer would help. So equipment broken but not too bad. Need another space like the studio as peak times it’s being used for classes

I am deeply disappointed with JD Gyms and their handling of my membership cancellation. Despite not attending the gym for several months and formally canceling my membership, I have been denied a refund.

When I initially decided to cancel my membership, I followed the proper procedures and notified JD Gyms in advance. However, they have shown a complete lack of concern for my situation. Despite their clear policy stating that cancellations are eligible for refunds under specific circumstances, I have been left empty-handed.

Not only did I refrain from utilizing their facilities, but I also adhered to their cancellation requirements, which were supposedly designed to protect members in situations like mine. It is unacceptable that JD Gyms has chosen to overlook their own policies and refuse to refund my hard-earned money.

Moreover, their customer service has been unhelpful and unsympathetic throughout this ordeal. They have failed to provide any reasonable explanation for denying my refund request or offer any alternative solutions. It is clear that their priority lies solely in retaining membership fees, rather than valuing customer satisfaction.

I strongly advise others to think twice before considering JD Gyms as their fitness destination. Their disregard for customer loyalty, refusal to honor their own policies, and lack of transparency are red flags that highlight their unethical business practices.

I sincerely hope that my negative experience can serve as a cautionary tale for others and that JD Gyms takes this feedback constructively, working towards rectifying their poor customer service and implementing fair refund practices

Great experience so far. I have no complaints. From the registration process to the actual activities its been seemless

Well equipped gym, friendly, engaging staff, competitively priced. Whats not to like!

Nice and easy sign up. Good gym with good variety of equipment

Good facilities, especially for the price. Lots of weights and machines to pick from. Negatives, I would say I’m surprised there is NO cleaning stations what I could see at all which I’m surprised at, this needs to get sorted ASAP, in my opinion. Clean down or wiping sweat away is pretty basic for a large gym like this. Lockers are OK, not the largest and when busy struggle to find space to get changed with little seating areas.
