I love the space!
Lots of variety, plenty of cardio options, and lots of kit.
Changing rooms are equally spacious and very clean.
Downsides are water fountain is kinda warm, the weight plates and dumbbells are always disorganised and messy.

Very impeccable reception, well equipped and very fun place to be for both my body and social life. My first time being in a proper gym and I’m enjoying it.

My daughter joined the gym in December and wasn’t able to gain access from the get go we tried calling multiple times emailed and used the contact form to try to cancel and thought it should have been but 6 months later it’s still ongoing, nobody replies to the contact form nobody answers the phone when we’ve been down there and pressed the button to find a staff member repeatedly it took 30 mins of waiting before somebody appears and he said to email again absolutely useless! Having worked in gyms this is so unsafe if someone falls, has a heart attack or gets attacked it’s so dangerous and negligent how the hell this place is still open and they obviously don’t change anything after reading multiple bad reviews I don’t know how to get my money back or even cancel this stupid thing. They need to use the massive amount of money they take off punters to employ staff at the very least

It's not all that.... equipments are old, left over from when it was exercise4less gym. Could do with a full modernisation across all gym machines, plates, dumbbells, the lot.

There are plenty of equipment and weights , don't like the boxing bags in corner ,they should be upstairs .
Its too dark in the weights section and difficult for people who wear glasse .
Rest is good .

We visited for a day ticket. The initial welcome was ok but it went downhill from there.
Free weights - unable to find any middle kg - random cluttered weights and nothing between 4 and 12 kg. Plate weights were just as bad with them scattered all over the place. There was litter around, plastic bottles left around and a general sense of uncleanliness. Any gym support was nonexistent and I wonder what ratio of time should be spent on the floor versus in the office. Toilet and sanitary box overflowing. Generally unkempt although if cleaned well the changing facilities were quite modern.

The gym facilities and equipment great lots to use and not over busy
Only gripe so far booked paid for a pt hes now cancelled twice on me
no:-1 There is no security, any buddy steal the bag from the changing room, management dit not take any actions,
Instead of taking action they blame the victim.
For example if someone sells a drugs in side the gym that means management they support the criminals because they can not take responsibility so that means any buddy can do anything in side the changing room right?
No:-2 not good experience with gym trainers he not gives proper answer infect he ignored new gym members that's not how to treat people.
the place is very unhygienic. you can see toothpicks, cottonbuds, chewing gum etc on the floor
the gym seems not to have been clean for a long time
The Sheffield South branch of JD gyms is spacious, with good lighting, great speakers and music, air conditioned and has duplicates of weight machines and benches, helping to ensure everyone can go at their own pace when exercising without disrupting others. However, weights on the dumbbell racks seemed to be frequently unorganised, many of which seem to be missing. In some cases I have had to spend a few minutes looking for the right set. For example, when looking for the 16 KG and the 18 KG, one pair was near the smaller weights, another near the heavier weights. This has happened on a few occasions. This could easily be resolved by having more PT’s/Staff available on the floor, ensuring equipment is maintained properly. Another example could be that several ropes/handles could be added to the cable areas of the gym, some of which have seen better days, and some handles may have been stolen. On a lighter note, the gym offers good facilities for a variety of training requirements, ranging from callisthenics to more aerobic and endurance based training. The changing rooms are generally very clean and spacious also.

Okay gym. The machines are old and need an update. Please JD get your wallet out and upgrade the equipment.

It's big and spacious, easy to get into but it was very hard to find weight as the facility itself was very messy.
The women's only space was very small and had weight strewn across it but the mix of equipment was good. However, one of the machines was broken but had nothing on it to indicate it was broken.
As a newbie it was hard to navigate the space in general, would be nice to have a map on the website stating the equipment there or at least the division of spaces to make it more welcoming.

Shocking to be honest, a lot of the equipment is outdated specifically the cardio orientated ones. Not enough back machine’s and chest flight is alway’s occupied so you could do with more of them. Lastly, my jacket got robbed from the changing room, this was my first time using the changing room. Sure i did not use a lock however, i’ve never experienced that in all my time going gym and just and it happens first time using yours. The staff told me it happens every day and you guys have not put down any procedures to prevent it. You can make the gym look aesthetic but it’s just a mask lol.

I have been trying to phone the gym's number at different times of the day for two weeks, e-mailed them twice, & never got an answer!
1- The Ladies-only gym has only two treadmills, one of them is not working! I've been there several times so far & couldn't get on the working treadmill because it was occupied.
2- As I was training in the Ladies-only gym, a male cleaner entered the gym unannounced, & when I asked him why he comes in without announcing himself to a "Ladies Only" area he told me "It's not a ladies gym based on religious beliefs" although I haven't brought up religion in my question, but he assumed this because I had a hijab on. I don't think any segregated area should have people from the other sex entering without permission except for emergencies.
3- I have asked other women who are regular gym goers & they told me that's not normal, & that male cleaners usually announce themselves before entering the area.
It's just horrendous that you can never get a hold of anyone to talk to in the gym, no one answers the phone, no one answers e-mails, no one opens the door when I knock on the door where the staff sits. It's one of the worst gym experiences I've ever had.
