Although not my usual gym…
Although not my usual gym (Newcastle-Under-Lyme) I visited the Stoke gym in Fenton in the morning as I wanted to train with a friend who's local to the Fenton location. I'd had issues trying to upgrade to the multi site membership and the duty manager couldn't have been more helpful getting it sorted and getting us on our way to train. Really great to see such great customer service!

Typical mainstream gym
It was extremely busy, people hogging machines when not really working out, more like on their phones. People don't return weights so you spend half the time walking round looking for the weights you need.

gym is good quality , parking bad
gym is good quality , car park to gym is far too small so struggle to park , even the road down the side of the gym is full .

For my first week i have done pretty…
For my first week i have done pretty well. The gym is clean and tidy apart from the mens locker room that smells of strong urine. There is plenty of variety to go at. I havent done a weight lifting routine for years so next time i go i will ask a member of staff if they can show me how to use certain weights properly and make a set plan

Since spring start unfortunately we starts saving money in here … cold water in showers has been reported multiple times and it wasn’t action at all at last 3 weeks. “Booty” machine it’s out of service for over a month … this equipment need a service in there … it’s not just about numbers of members.. I think this place earn enough money to maintain them equipment properly (cables etc) and turn on again hot water. Fed up with reporting issues in this place. I really recommend jd gym but newcastle under lyme even if amount of people in there it’s ridicules sometimes at least they got new equipment what’s it’s not take over from previous gym, and it’s maintained properly. Also cleaners mopping the floors in locker-room with same cloth what they use for showers cubicles .. (seen many times) Disgusting…

The staff are really helpful
The staff are really helpful, booked in for an induction and free PT session. This gym is really friendly and nobody stares or makes you feel uncomfortable, everyone is always helpful and friendly, great environment, love going the gym
