The gym has a perfect training atmosphere which pushes me to achieve more! It is clean, the equipment is plentiful and the staff are very helpful. Have recommended to multiple friends and family.

Great gym, good equipment distributed well within a large space. Toilets and changing rooms are clean. Staff and other members are super friendly - overall good energy & environment to train in. Yes it can get busy during peak times - but that’s the case for any other gym so if you don’t like waiting a few minutes I suggest avoiding these times. It would be nice to have a cleaning facility where members could wipe down the equipment before/after use but that’s not to say I’ve ever found equipment to be dirty. Highly recommend :)

JD Gym Swindon is by far the best gym in Swindon as far as commercial gyms go. The kit inside is to a high quality and is always kept clean and to a good condition! The staff will always keep an eye on the gym floor ensuring every gym member is treated fairly and with respect while always maintaining a smile. In the 8 years I’ve been going to gyms in Swindon JD has made me feel the most welcome

I've been a member here since they opened and there are a few things that I've observed consistently that are frustrating to me.
The staff members will put weights away that you might be using. Not once have they asked for permission to put weights away before they start unloading for me to have to ask them to stop.
If you make a mistake and leave belongings in the changing rooms, it doesn't matter what your situation is (car keys locked away and you live a 40 minute drive away), there isn't an emergency number and you're left high and dry to get yourself home and back.
There's no tissue or blue roll, and certainly no cleaning product, available on the gym floor.
This is simply a gym that wouldn't have been allowed to operate a few years ago under COVID restrictions.
I've seen staff, including the gym manager, speak down to members. The most recent event was between the gym manager and a member who had setup an unsafe exercise.
Instead of stopping the member, asking them to stop and explaining why the exercise was dangerous, the gym manager simply threatened to kick the member out if he saw them do that again in the gym. The member questioned it and the manager explained why, but the initial threat was unnecessary.
It's a gym that I'm really happy to train at, providing I have no interactions with staff and I don't use a piece of equipment after someone's sweat all over it, barely wiped it and used the same towel to clean the equipment that they use to soak their sweat with.

Swindon JD, brand new gym. No air conditioning (literally like a sauna), lighting that makes you want to fall asleep (no natural lighting, weird warm dingy lighting) Good, new equipment, however all of the benches are slippery. Toilets and changing facilities clean and nice. Check in system a bit temperamental. More expensive than other, bigger, better gyms in the area. Always busy, even in off-peak. Gym group and buzz gym which I have previously been to I had no gripes with and were cheaper. Oh and very small car park. I usually visit around mid-day in the week and still struggle to park.

Horrific hygiene standards, staff don’t clean, no benches ever get wiped down nor do the weights.
No sanitary stations or any paper towels available anywhere aside the toilets which are a horrific mess.
I caught ringworm from the benches there on the back of my neck, wouldn’t get it from anywhere else.
Absolutely vile gym.

Good gym, with lots of good equipment however it is like working out in a furnace. The temperature regulation in the gym is awful, making it quite uncomfortable to train in.

Fantastic gym and staff, they were engaging and I got a really good vibe for the place. I met Ian and he really know his stuff and I’m impressed with the set up.

Coming up my first month at this club, at first instance it's really impressive as it's large and got nice lighting but the important stuff so far has been a let down. The issue with changing room access at night is understandable from a health and safety viewpoint but the cleanliness is already lacking when it is open. Cleaning sign chart being filled in for the day ahead of time, pink mould and dirt already building up in the showers which I imagine are hard to truly keep clean as the tiles are dark. Water pressure is shockingly low, takes ages to rinse hair and the changing room today was ice cold and filthy. Overall temperature feels way colder than it should be, it felt like getting changed outside, everyone was complaining about it. I get everyone is being careful with heating costs but this was awful and so uncomfortable even after using the sauna (which is great). Hopefully with some care and consideration from JD for their customers they'll stick the heating on once and a while and employ actual cleaners who deep clean regularly.
