Great gym although one staff member moans at my son for wearing crocs, citing that they are not safe. I have seen the same staff member completely ignoring the fact that some of the cute girls there have no shoes on and some of the big guys are wearing crocs as well. One rule for all please. Also, the dress code needs looking at. Some of the women there are practically wearing bikini's. I'm as open minded as the next guy but it's a gym not a nightclub.

I like how there is a lot of space and multiple of the same machine or equipment so that I am not having to wait to start, the facilities are all really clean and welcoming

I was greeted straight away and my induction was very through.
Everything explained and I was given the time I needed.
Thank you

I have recently joined JD gyms and attended the Zumba class on Tuesday. This class was fun, energizing and whilst the choreography was a little fast, it was easy to follow with the most uplifting music. The instructor clearly has a passion for what she does and made me feel welcome and completely at ease as a newbie. It is a little disappointing that there aren’t more Zumba classes in the timetable!

Good interaction with staff, modern and clean premises, great selection of machines

Not enough machines or the popular machines have people waiting for them so your 1hr in the gym can take 2hrs

Reply from JD Gyms - Widnes
I was a little sceptical about joining the gym as you don’t really know what to expect apart from loads of exercise machines, but as soon as I first got on the treadmill I knew I had made the right decision it felt amazing.

Simply put, this gym is great. By far the best gym / sauna in the area. People who say it's too busy are just looking for excuses not to go because in reality they are lazy. It's a 24hr gym - you can go at anytime. Of course if you go at 6pm its busy like every gym in existence - solution - go at a different time. Its always open. 6AM to 5pm is a great time to train and from 10pm to 6am overnight it gets really quiet so loads of space to train. If you don't like seeing people wearing gym clothes....maybe the gym just ain't for you Karens. Its swole o'clock and chest day. Time to get a trenbolony sandwhich and get some gains MFs. I'm coming for ya JD Gym Widnes POW!

Far too busy, which is probably due to the really cheap prices. This means you can’t get on the machines. Gym etiquette is shocking with people sitting there on their phones. Seems to be no dress code, to point of being made to feel uncomfortable.

Large well equipped gym clean and a friendly atmosphere I feel comfortable here despite it being my first time at the gym for a few years

The gym itself is okay, if you go at a time when there isn't a tone of teenagers stood around doing nothing (lol)
However, myself and a few others find it incredibly disappointing whenever we go to a class thinking it'll be easy to join in, and then we are given little to no instruction or direction and expected to just follow along. This is especially true for the Zumba class, it was an all in or nothing, and for those who have bad co ordination, no move change signal was given, and therefore we felt we had to leave the class early as we couldn't keep up and looked out of place.
Classes should have a level in the title, beginners, intermediate, etc.
So we know what we are walking into and can actually find a class we enjoy and can participate int

Good atmosphere, plenty of machines available. Good classes and a good sauna to finish.

Great Gym, the machines get very busy so could do with more of them as there are plenty of free weights and treadmills. Most other gyms have a steam room too. All in all very good!

A big deterrent here is in the car park I can't get a signal. To get in I have to connect to an unsecured network, then click connect which can take a number of tries. An unsecured network is welcoming being hacked. I've had to rely on other members to get in or press the buzzer.
It seems it's not just me, when I did get in I watched others with the same problem.
Please provide a secure network with a password on the app. With a process to follow poster near the door for gym users.
The Gym itself is great, everything you could need. It would be a 5 star review if it wasn't for the refreshing the QR code every time I visited.
I guess the other concern is security, I was let in a number of times by members and staff. I could have been anyone, not once was I asked if I was a member or for any identification.

The parking is free an easy.
There's a good selection of cardio machines an a vast selection of weightlifting machines the changing rooms are clean an spacious as well as a very good sauna

Drain in Sauna needs to be moved as the water builds up and has no way to drain, that also applies to the shower, thanks.
