The whole process from purchase through to delivery has been amazing, we cannot fault John Ryan, truly exceptional! (Purchaser of a John Ryan Artisan Naturals mattress).

Cannot recommend enough. I spent a fair amount of money on a Simba mattress around 3 years previous only to find I was waking up with painful twinges in my back because the support from it had already failed. After looking into it I found out about how memory foam is notorious for failing, so decided to try a John Ryan mattress after a recommendation from a friend.

I was impressed from the very start, having had a phone call before the order was confirmed to ensure that I had chosen the right mattress. This was not to try and upsell a more expensive one, it was purely to make sure I had made the right choice. The mattress then arrived sooner than expected, delivered by a very helpful pair of chaps who knew the products and made helpful suggestions. Then on inspecting the mattress I was hugely impressed. For not much more money than any of the generic memory foam or hybrid mattresses you get an absolutely beautifully made one which is comfortable yet supportive. It has a much more expensive feel that the price suggests and my wife and I cannot fault it. You also can tell by the quality feel that it will last for much longer than any of the cheaper ones, making it incredible value. I truly love this mattress and have been more than imprint the customer service. It is also a good feeling to know that you are buying something made in the UK.

Having run a B&B for 8 years, this was the 7th mattress we have bought from John Ryan - this time for our own use! Our guests have always loved these mattresses and we too find ours very comfortable and sumptuous.
The service was second to none - the lady I spoke to on the phone ascertained that we were buying the right mattress and level of firmness according to our weight and sleep position and advised us as to the main features of each type. Because our need was urgent, she managed to fast track our order (it was a mattress from their outlet, so didn't have to be made) and we had it in a week. The guys delivering kept us well-informed of delivery time, took it upstairs, unpacked it, placed it on the bed and took the packaging away. I wish all companies operated this pleasantly and efficiently! Thank you!

I love my bed! Decided it was worth investing properly to help with back pain and quality of sleep and I spent a long time researching before choosing John Ryan for both my bed base and mattress. I couldn’t be happier with the service and quality of both.

Worth every penny! A mattress is a considered purchase but it feels intimidating when you can’t go into a store and tuck yourself up to try out a good nights sleep or not! I rang up John Ryan for advice, the lady I spoke to was incredibly helpful and I did end up buying a more expensive mattress than I had originally intended but no regrets. So well made! So comfy and what price can you put on a good nights sleep!?

Shopping for a new mattress online and, never having heard of the bed makers John Ryan by Design Ltd., I was immediately impressed by their website with its copious amount of sound, solid advice on the subject of choosing a mattress and of the technical aspects and materials used in their beds. Furthermore they manufacture their beds in Yorkshire. A plus sign in my reckoning.
I phoned them to ask a few questions and place an order and was dealt with by a wonderful lady with a warm, friendly manner who was more than knowledgeable in dealing with my queries. On her advice I ordered two single mattresses which could be zipped together to form a double. A good option for my purposes.
My order was made up and delivered within the time they promised. The delivery team were obviously well trained, courteous and efficient. They installed the bed in the room we wanted and took away our old bed.
More than satisfied with the whole experience.

Great telephone advice on which mattress to buy. Once ordered, the mattress was then available for delivery ahead of when quoted and delivered by a very efficient team who rang me to let me know when they would arrive, then arrived when they said they would! The mattress itself is very comfortable. Great service all round.

So happy with our John Ryan mattress. They really take the time to understand your needs/ profile and recommend on that basis. We went for the Origins latex 2000 and it is a dream to sleep on, supports our (heavier) weights perfectly while still feeling soft. I had terrible lower back pain from our previous foam mattress and this has practically disappeared. I am recommending them to all my friends now!!

An extremely helpful website gave all the basic information which was then refined by telephone conversations with equally helpful and knowledgeable staff.
The order was processed well within the scheduled time and the delivery was very efficient.

Over the past few years, I've had back problems and found it challenging to get a good night's sleep. Waking in the early hours, too uncomfortable to sleep.

In addition to stretching, exercise, etc., I pursued better mattresses. Luckily, they came with a send-it-back clause if you don't like it. I sent two back and finally purchased one of the most expensive mattresses from a leading memory foam manufacturer. My back pain continued.

I gave up, believing it wasn't the mattress. It was the old fart sleeping on the bed. My wife found John Ryan by Design and suggested we try them. I wasn't in the mood for more disappointment, but she convinced me to give the dice another roll.

We've had our mattress and bed for about six weeks, here's my experience so far.

My first thought was while it looked exceptionally well made, it didn't feel much comfier than my costly memory foam mattress.

However! After about a week with the mattress, my back pain started to ease. I thought it might be a placebo effect, so I ignored it. That weekend, I slept through to 9 a.m.; usually, my back would force me out of bed well before 7 a.m., whatever the day.

I was convinced it wouldn't last, but my back pain has eased and eased over the weeks. It's not gone entirely, but in just six weeks, the pain has reduced considerably, and my sleep quality hasn't been this good in years.

My wife also tells me she finds the mattress very comfortable, especially around her hips.

In summary, this mattress is a keeper.

The memory foam mattress has been relegated to the guest room. We don't want anyone getting too comfy!
