Great all round
There is a raft of information available on their website to enable you to narrow your choice down. Once made ordering is straightforward and there is a follow up phone call to check you are getting the correct type of mattress to suit you. Delivery was as agreed and effortless.
I had an email exchange and a phone call with Julie in the office and I have to say she knows her stuff and could not have been more helpful.
The mattress itself (an Artisan Luxury in a Kingsize) is superb in every respect.
We would not now think of ever buying a mattress from elsewhere.

Amazing company
I am very impressed with the company and the matress I purchased. The matress is very well constructed, very comfortable and made of high quality materials.
I ordered my matress based on the recommendations on the website for my needs.
The following day I recieved a phone call from John Ryan to make sure the matress I ordered was suitable for me by asking questions about my height, weight, the firmness I required etc which I found very assuring that I had made the right choice.
The aftercare was excellent also, not only did they send me information about caring for my matress in the post, they also sent me an email a month after reminding me it was time to turn the matress which is to be done every month for a year to prolong the life of the matress.

Thrilled with my experience with these guys and our new mattress, and I was NOT an easy customer at all but they were beyond patient and kind throughout the entire ordeal I put them through!
First off, the delivery was great with the kindest ever delivery guys who were so careful and respectful getting the very heavy cumbersome mattress upstairs.
Having had the same rock hard mattress for so many years, our new mattress from John Ryan felt so very different that at first that we didn’t like it. I phoned them to initiate a return and they were very helpful and immediately arranged a collection for me. A friend then offered to buy the mattress off me so I canceled the collection. However, my friend changed their mind and so I booked the collection again and they were just as patient! They kindly allowed me to keep the mattress while I awaited the delivery of whatever new mattress I purchased from another company.
A few weeks went by and we found ourselves sleeping better than ever on the John Ryan mattress. Once we got used to it we started to like it, then love it, then adore it! Once again I cancelled the collection, this time for good!
The mattress is extraordinarily comfortable and fantastic quality. I can’t recommend John Ryan and their wonderful products enough!

Just gets better and better
My experience with JohnRyan by Design just gets better and better every time. We have 3 JRbD beds in our house now and each of them has been a wonderful experience from purchasing to delivery to sleeping on them every night. Our last purchase was the Artisan Tailored Pocket 2000 with a firm and medium split. After sleeping on it for several weeks, my wife was not happy with the support on the medium side, we spoke to John Ryan about it and they happily replaced it with once that was firm on both sides. We have slept soundly on it ever since (several months now). Thanks for amazing customer care from Julie throughout the entire process. A bed can be quite an investment but rest assured, you can buy with confidence, from John Ryan by Design, they won't sleep until you are happy it seems. I will continue to choose their mattresses every time!

Another (our third) mattress from JR Design 👍
Bought our first mattress from JR Design about 13 years ago. Nothing lasts for ever so we bought a replacement on line a couple of months ago. Excellent service pre despatch (the office rang us to check the mattress we ordered would our needs). Delivery was on the date agreed and the contractor kept in touch re ETA. New mattress is a delight to sleep on and all in all a great firm to deal with.

Utterly outstanding service. I had purchased two Artisan natural mattresses in firm spring tension. After a conversation with them we were advised that my wife should get the medium tension which we did.
Around 4 months later and she just found it too soft. She generally prefers firmer tensions and she preferred mine. Realising we had missed the return window we were annoyed with ourselves but took that responsibility ourselves for missing it.
My wife thought she would phone John Ryan to see whether they could assist and they were extremely helpful and offered to replace the mattress.
We are so grateful and blown away by the willingness and desire to provide us with the mattress that we want even when it is outside of their obligations and at their expense.
I love my mattress which appears very well made.
I will be recommending John Ryan to family and friends and will be using again.
