Avoid at all costs

I bought an elliptical machine from this company which I need for physio preparation before a vital leg surgery I’m due to have. Time sensitive as the surgery is a month away, I looked around for exactly the right looking machine but unfortunately this awful company was behind the sale (they sell on Decathlon so you dont at first realise). The machine arrived broken, they took weeks to respond to my efforts to reach out, they sent an engineer with second hand parts to replace the broken ‘brand new’ parts ,they did not repair, then when I demanded a replacement they took weeks more, they tried to tell me that the free replacement installation was part of the compensation for my troubles, they initially tried to put the onus onto me for not getting in touch properly, then admitted that they still send out the wrong contact details because of a change of ownership over a year ago…. they have now put me in the very real position of not being physically ready for surgery and being left with partial leg paralysis. They are not interested in making any significant compensation and finally said ‘well if you’re not happy give it back’ … awful company. Avoid all products and all business

Shady company with poor support

Brought a treadmill from Bowflex and was sent a defective one. Johnson group wont sent the defective console and keeps on delaying shipment for last six months.

They won’t return or replace treadmill either. They want me to fight with local dealer and local dealer want to get it done with Johnson group.

Overall poor customer support and shady business. I will be filing a lawsuit against them.

Wow.

Wow.

JOHNSON HEALTH (Bowflex/ Schwinn) is hands-down the fitness retailer of the year!!

Bought their BOWFLEX C6 exercise bike through their website so my wife could build enough strength for cancer surgery after already having had months of chemotherapy. Also bought their extra cushioned seat because the cancer has taken away any natural cushion she once had.

Turns out BOWFLEX sent a defective seat slider to attach upgraded seat.

Ok.
Alright.
We asked for a new one.

BOWFLEX (JOHNSON HEALTH) told us it was out of stock and not available for two and a half months (Precisely when she needs the bike).

Suggested they think outside the box. Suggested they cannibalize a-n-y of the thousands of bikes just sitting in their in their supply chain for the seat slider so the girl with cancer could use the bike that she needed that we already paid for.

(JOHNSON HEALTH is using our money…why can’t we use our bike?)

JOHN HOWELL of Johnson Health customer service completely ignored that...but generously informed us that they would allow us to return our useless-as-a-rock bike for a measly return fee of $155 plus 20% more to re-stock.

To sum up - BOWFLEX sent a sick women an $875 exercise bike that wouldn’t work. Then declined to make A-N-Y effort to solve the problem they themselves created…and finally closed with “Sure we’ll take it back but it’s gonna cost you $315"

Who says Ebenezer Scrooge isn’t alive and well and working for Chairman PETER LO at BOWFLEX / JOHNSON HEALTH in Cottage Grove Wisconsin!!

Merry Merry John Howell and Peter Lo! May the spirit of Christmas past visit your dreams this year so that you might once again come to know the simple difference between right and wrong…

Bought a Johnson Treadmills less than 2…

Bought a Johnson Treadmills less than 2 years ago and the belt is gone. Been trying to get through to customer services but to no avail. Very disappointed. Bought the equipment in Costco and I surprised Costco known for their quality will stock a product of this quality. Save your money and get a different product

Elliptical breakdown

Purchased an elliptical... Matrix commercial unit refurbished. The inbuilt video display unit comes up with error code 04B0 after 5 mins of use. Johnson fitness are uncontactable. They just don't answer their phone... Hopeless customer service and attitude. Save your money and shop elsewhere.

Johnson Fitness and specifically Matrix…

Johnson Fitness and specifically Matrix is basically selling expensive JUNK that doesn't work. Don't overpay for this CRAP. I have purchased (2) expensive top end stationary bikes and both have needed constant repair. And complaints are no use. Matrix must have the worst quality control of any fitness equipment manufacturer.

I would strongly recommend against…

I would strongly recommend against purchasing from this company. A non-functioning elliptical (the resistance was not working, which is the whole point of an elliptical) was left in my home (incorrectly installed and then not tested by the installers) and it took me 10 days and around 30 phone calls to have the issue addressed. The sales supervisor Steven with whom I spoke for a $200 delivery fee refund was rude and disingenuous, boasting that refunds are at his absolute discretion and that he would not issue one. He said that the machine was assembled so the fee stands, even if the assembly was incorrect resulting in a non-functioning machine. When I stated that I paid $200 to have to not spend time on the installation, but instead I have spent a total of 7 hours troubleshooting and reaching out and coordinating repairs, he said he had final say over refunds and that the only person above him is the president of Johnson Fitness who doesn't deal with this type of issue. I was shocked at the condescension and lack of acknowledgement of the two-fold mistake on their delivery team's part. I would never ever purchase from them again and strongly recommend against purchasing from them. Also know that when you're seeking customer service, you are going to get bounced around between Johnson Fitness Sales Team, Johnson Fitness Warranty Team, Johnson Health Tech, Horizon Fitness, Third Party Installers, and Third Party Repairers (hence the 30 frustrating phone calls). SAVE YOURSELF THE HASSLE AND RUDENESS AND AVOID THIS COMPANY.

I bought a Matrix CXC Indoor Training…

I bought a Matrix CXC Indoor Training Cycle with a CXC LCD console from Johnson Fitness (Pasadena, CA) for $3,044 for Christmas for my wife. The bike is well made but the console is horrible! It displays pedal RPM and heart rate but not bike speed, as most indoor exercise bikes do. Moreover, the light that displays the information stays on very briefly and is essentially useless. The reps at Johnson Fitness tell me that no other console will work with this bike. In light of the price paid, this is unacceptable.

I bought a Synca Kagra massage chair…

I bought a Synca Kagra massage chair from scott Hawkins in 2022. I was given a 3 year warranty on the chair. I started having minor issues with the rollers in June 2023. I called and spoke to a Phil at the rt 22 showroom where I purchased the product. He was pleasant on the phone and reconfirmed that the issue was under warranty. He told me someone would call to set up an appointment. I waited 3 weeks and called back. I spoke to another guy who told me there was no order in the system. He again took my information and told me that basically they do not have any technicians to fix these things but one of there installers could probably come over and figure it out. This made me feel uncomfortable. Anyhow, he advised that they were busy and that the installer would call me to come take a look at it. Again waited 3 weeks and no one called. I realize now that I was sold a bag of goods with a warranty that they cannot honor. I would highly recommend that you do not use this company because they have no integrity.

Avoid Johnson Fitness and Matrix

Avoid Johnson Fitness and Matrix, both of which are commonly owned. A Matrix A30 elliptical was delivered to and installed at my home on November 1, 2023—the installers determined, while testing this A30, that it is defective. Johnson Fitness/Matrix is refusing to issue me a full refund and remove this defective Matrix A30 from my home without imposing a 25% restocking fee. Put simply, Johnson Fitness/Matrix wants to punish me—the customer—for its delivery of a defective product. Avoid!

Be careful when ordering from this…

Be careful when ordering from this company and changing your mind. I ordered a treadmill. I opened the box and changed my mind about keeping it. It was unused and its original condition and re-sealed in its original packaging. I requested a return. The company said that as I have opened the box and broken the seal, they cannot arrange a free return and I will have to return it at my cost.

You get what you pay for!

Just purchased a matrix treadmill for the home.
First, we have been using it for 2 weeks.
Absolutely love it! I know it’s more expensive than the big box store units but, you get what you pay for.
Next the experience at the store was great.
Dawson and Dale were great.
Everything happened exactly the way they/ we
planned.

I would recommend Johnson Fitness with a 5 star rating.

Johnson Horizon Fitness GR7

I have a Horizon Fitness GR7 stationary exercise bike (retailing at around £1,300). It is SUPPOSED to provide a bluetooth signal of the power being exerted and interface with cycling apps, such as Zwift.

The bike power signals are grossly inaccurate. Horizon partners Johnson Health Tech (JHT) arranged for a UK local engineer visit which concluded the bike could not be fixed. Despite spending MONTHS trying to get the matter resolved, NO HELP was provided (even though JHT confirmed the bike was still in warranty).

Adele and her JHT UK service colleagues were lovely BUT DID NOTHING TO HELP, despite this problem being known and highlighted by other Zwift users.

I can only give Johnson Fitness the lowest rating. I also now have to approach the major retailers hoping that they are aware of this major failing and perhaps even knowing how it can be fixed for the manufacturers apparently do not. In short, don’t assume that Horizon will help with a fault just because your product is in warranty!

Excellent customer service and fair price

We bought an old-school Stairmaster from Johnson Fitness a week and a half ago. We had a great experience. We got a fair price and outstanding customer service from Ted G., store manager, who went out of his way to help us. So far the equipment is working very well. Thanks!

Buyer Beware

Purchased a recumbent bike form Erick V. and I was trading in a used piece of equipment. To give me a quote he had me send pictures of the equipment and he would send them to the main office for a price for the trade in. About 4 hours later he call back and said he could only offer me $125. I told him these units are sell from $800 to $1100 on ebay. He said he could discount the new machine by $200 to help offset the different. I was told they would pick up the machine take it back to the warehouse go thru the machine to make sure it worked properly and then cut me a check for $125.00. I said why don't they check out the machine at my house to make sure it is working. I would prefer that because I don't know what could happen to machine on transport or disassembly. He said that these are just delivery guys and if the machine is not working they would not even take it from my house. I knew the machine worked perfectly so I agreed to the deal. They came to pick up and deliver my machine the next day. The workers had to dismantle the old machine to get it out. They had to take apart the swinging hand rails, the back hand rails foundations, the foot pedals and foot arms. They had a freezer size bag of nuts and bolts they took off. I ask them if they were going to be able to get this back together and they said yes but they would not do it until they got back to the warehouse.
A week later I get a call from Erick (you guess it) telling me that I was not going to get the $125 because my Equipment smelled like dog urine(come on) and there was a bearing that was leaking grease. He didn't say it didn't work properly but he say it would sit to long on the floor taking up space for them to make any money on it. My guess is they never reassembly the machine when it return it to the warehouse.
The problem I have with Johnson and the reason I will never do business with them again is their system for trading in old equipment puts the consumer at a disadvantage to dispute their assessment and they did not live up to their agreement on the cost of buying the new equipment. Buyer Beware of this company. Below is the equipment that is worth nothing and was in good working order when they came to pick it up. These pictures were taken the day of pick up

The Arlington & Southlake TX Stores

The Arlington, TX store has been dishonest with me regarding providing information on selling or trading my elliptical. Also, sad to say, the Southlake, TX store did responded and offered me a mere $200 to trade for something new for an elliptical that is barely used and worth at least $2000, despite being only two years old. We bought it from them for $3000. It is disheartening that there are so many unethical businesses in the USA.

New treadmill does not function and company will not respond

After purchasing a TF30 treadmill, the unit failed to operate as represented... When the Johnson Fitness support unit and in home 3rd party repair svc were unable to correct the problems, my original sales rep (Justin) and his area manager offered either an upgrade for the inconvenience or to accept the unit in return…. While the unit did not function as promised, the sales team did take ownership and offered solutions to resolve the matter, for that I’m greatfull…
