Contacted JRB after seeing so many positive reviews. The surveyor rang me after carrying out the homebuyers report and discussed it in full. Shortly afterwards a very detailed report was sent through. A few weeks later the solicitor raised some issues with the property and I rang Tom who could not have been more helpful and went to a lot of trouble to get further info for me which resolved the issue. Absolutely top class service from this company.

Detailed report with helpful photos. Prompt friendly service. Competitive price so very good value for money.

Delay upon delay receiving the report, and when it was finally sent late Friday evening the file was corrupt and not accessible.
Means it will be another few days before I get to see the information I need for my house purchase.

Excellent service. All information readily available, very quick reply to questions I had before we decided to proceed with quote. Had a surveyor out to property within 3 days. They did everything they said they would, the entire process was simple and straightforward. The report was with me earlier than expected as well, and was very thorough. Very pleased with the level of service with this company and would recommend.

We recently used J.R Bullock & Co for a level 3 Survey and have been so pleased with their work. Since the initial contact, the communication has been so friendly, efficient and quick. We quickly received a quote and once we decided to go ahead, the survey was soon arranged for the following week. We received a call prior to the survey to ask if there were any particular areas we were concerned about and also a further call once the survey had been completed. The timescales for the survey and report were fine and the communication from the Surveyor was very good , we would use this company again if the need arrises

The level 3 survey was carried out by John Hopwood on a dilapidated bungalow that had stood empty for nearly 4 years. The appointment was prompt and the survey very thorough and comprehensive. He went through it with us on site, followed up with a clear detailed written report. The company was friendly and easy to deal with from the first phone conversation with Charlotte to our meeting with John Hopwood, who also recommended a similarly friendly and helpful architect and project management team. I would highly recommend this company, who put us at our ease from the start.

J. R. Bullock did a Level 2 survey on the house we are buying. Our surveyor was Ashley Bedini. I am delighted with every aspect of the service we got. To begin with, the company responded positively to my request to schedule the survey sooner than we first agreed. Ashley the surveyor called me before doing the inspection to ask if I had any specific areas of concern, and he called me afterwards to give me the headlines of his findings. The report followed in accordance with the timeline I had been given, and it was detailed and helpful. It was not overly vague and generic as these things can be. I can highly recommend this company.

John Bullock, John Hopwood and Charlotte Whiting project managed the refurbishment of my late Victorian house, which I’d bought warts and all, love at first sight, without a pre-sale survey. Final responsibility fell to John Hopwood, who understood my wish for a safe, dry house rather than a complete makeover. The savings he found more than covered JRB’s fee. Whatever cropped up, he took it in his stride and sorted it out. I now have peace of mind about my house, and I love living in it.

Really happy with the service and reports. Overall everything as promised but was really impressed that the report was quality checked and on looking at photos a small branch of knotweed was spotted. ( it’s on a plan) the knotweed company we’re called out and confirmed it was a good spot and treated it.

John Hopwood has completed three L3 building surveys for me now, always a very thorough report and he's always happy to talk me through the details and offer practical advice. I wouldn't use anyone else.

J R Bullock carried out a RICS Level 2 survey on our prospective house purchase. They liaised with the vendor's agent to fix a suitable date and provided feedback by telephone immediately after the survey was completed. A written report was provided a few days later.

I was a landlord who suffered a severe house fire in October 2021 which required a complete refurbishment.It is worth mentioning I was also recently widowed so my mental state was very fragile and I had no idea what I was doing. My phone call to John Bullock was after a random search.
John Bullock was excellent from the start. He advised, consulted and managed the refurbishment. I placed my trust in him and he didn't let me down. Unfortunately Half way through the project John Hopwood had to take over . The transfer was smooth and I was consulted at every stage of the refurbishment. His team were particularly helpful in trying to assist me with problems I had with my energy provider. John was in close contact with my chosen builders who were equally as excellent. We had regular site meetings and every meeting was minuted .
I now have a totally refurbished house . Thankyou John Bullock ( RIP) and John Hopwood and team.

JR bullock was a delight to deal with. Once contacted about the survey they were able to outline the cost in a timely manner. When we decided that we wanted JR bullock to carry out the survey it was booked with the vendor almost immediately and on the day of their earliest available time advertised. The survey was received within a week and was very detailed and gave us the confidence in purchasing our next property. JR bullock also provided examples of surveys on their website showing differences between what to expect on a level 2/level 3 survey. The fact we were also allowed to pay after we received the survey gave us the confidence in JR Bullocks professional nature.

The surveyors arranged a date with the existing vendor in a very timely manor and provided a very detailed and thorough report. Definitely would recommend.

Paid for a level 3 survey as the property had been extended and had a large conservatory.

First issue was that I got a call advising that the survey was going to be completed the following day, had to chase them up as they were planning on surveying the wrong property (not even in the same town).

They provided a professional looking report; however they missed the fact that the conservatory roof was completely shot and needed to be completely replaced even though it was easily accessible to the surveyor.

Was promised a response to my compliant in two days, finally got one two weeks later after multiple chases; only for the response to the complaint to essentially be that if it isn't in the report it can't exist.

Complaint handler couldn't even be bothered to revisit to see the issue for themselves to see if it is something that they should have picked up.

Getting them to respond to any contact is a battle, so now I get to add chasing them through the ombudsman to my to-do list.

Level 3 Survey was carried out quickly and the service was excellent, with a phone call the next day highlighting the key areas I was interested in.
Reasonably priced and a just a very good all round experience.
