Recently purchased a harness, collar and lead for our puppy. Out the first outing the puppy chewed the lead... I’m taking a nibble... I did not let him chew on the lead for more than a few seconds. He did this maybe half a dozen times and to my surprise, broke the lead clean in half! I complained to the company as the items aren’t cheap and the response was basically “ tough” . The brand is marketed as a premium, rugged brand “ used in police and prison services”...I don’t think that the quality lives up to the hype. Save your money and get a cheaper brand which will last just as long

Love this harness. Have tried many others but this is the only one that has worked for me and my Labrador. I can control him if I need to with additional control using the handle on top but generally find that he doesn’t even try to pull with it on. It’s easy to put on and he feels comfortable and secure in it.
I don’t understand why there are such negative reviews on the Julius k9 harness. I think it’s amazing, have tried loads of different harnesses and none of them match up to the quality of the Julius. I have a husky and it’s so easy to put on and she doesn’t get out of it like others have experienced but maybe that’s because I always watch what she’s doing and stop with her never dragging her from behind or maybe people aren’t fitting them right. Either way I’ve never had any problems and love the product

We’ve had the harness 2 months and my Cockapoo has slipped out of the harness 4 or 5 times now, which is a huge danger for us as he is not good off lead and can run off when trying to recall/retrieve. He’s never escaped any previous harnesses and we paid more money for this thinking it was of high quality. Buy with caution, my dog is not one to normally back up but now he’s figured out he can get out of the harness by doing so he’ll keep doing it so now we have the expense of having to buy a new one.

Honestly these are just not good, they're a fad. Our dog slips his harness regularly because the terrible velco just slips loose if he is walking with any speed. I don't know if this is a French Bulldog body shape thing but I'm really disappointed with the product.

These look good, but for our male Bullmastiff, it DOES NOT stop him from pulling. We have a cheaper harness my wife uses when walking him as she cannot control him with the Julius K9 on.
Like I say, they look great but definitely not a "no pull" harness for our dog.
Terrible AVOID!! We bought a mini and a mini mini for our two dogs. While both appear to fit around the middle the dogs are able to slip out and the Velcro is flimsy. Dangerous and not good value for money, ours are going back.

I bought this harness without reading any reviews on the product, and I am glad that I didn't because it is the best harness I have purchased to date. There are so many negative comments on these harnesses which seem more like dog behaviour issues than product faults. Anyway, I just wanted to share my experience. I normally take my collipoo out for a run, and since he grew out of his last harness I have just been clipping the leash to his collar. He's a bit of a sprinter, and would often run and catch his neck as he ran out of lead which looked so painful and I would worry every time it happened, so I decided to get him a new harness to prevent him from hurting himself. I saw the K9 harness on offer and bought the right size for my dog, feeling that this would be less straining on my dog as we run together, and I would no longer have to worry about him snapping his neck every time he ran ahead. The first day I put his harness on after it arrived, I could not believe the difference it made. My dog didn't pull at all, not once, he suddenly didn't have the urge to run ahead like he normally does he just toddled along at the same pace and I had absolutely no issues. Also he is very playful and tends to bounce around when we walk or run past other dogs, but with this harness on he just ran straight past, his behaviour had completely changed, I couldn't believe it! I honestly never imagined this purchase would change our running experience, I bought it for his comfort more than anything. I am so pleased and I would highly recommend this product to any owners who's dogs pull on the leash or just simply to anyone who wants thier dog to be more comfortable on thier walks. My dog loves it and it makes me happy seeing him happy, and I couldn't be more grateful for this harness and the huge difference it has made.

One of the best harnesses on the market. Do your research before buying though as it does not suit everyone. We had a head shy dog so this made fitting a doddle. Some have said that dogs can back out of them, this maybe true for some dogs and many other harnesses do the same. There is a solution to this for the Julius K9, purchase the additional Y belt that attaches to the belly and front strap, it will hold the dog more securely. To be honest if you have a nervous dog that will always try to back out of a harness then this harness is probably not for. For me it works as I wanted it too, stopped heavy pulling, easy to put on, handle so I can grab the dog or help lift them into the car, side patches so I can put labels like nervous dog on, can be washed in the washing machine and ring for attaching lead is strong.
For my jack Russell x chihuahua I cannot fault, he loves wearing it! However my border terrier after one wear it rubbed badly causing a irritation to his skin, even though it was fitted correctly! One vet visit and some creams given to me, hopefully he will recover soon.
So maybe a look at the design and adding some form of padding to the chest strap.
We have been using Julius-k9 harness for many years! We love it, very practical for large dogs - samoyed.
Waterproof neoprene coat, Hoping this was going to keep the worst of the rain off the dogs back i was sorely mistaken, it leaks water through on all the stitching seams in the middle of the back (with a light shower) and permeates out across the dogs back making him very wet, not worth the money, I have picture if they wish to see it.
I’m not entirely comfortable posting this on a public space but unfortunately Julius K9 have done nothing about this issue so they leave me no choice.
Dangerous Design Fault - Julius K9 Harness.
I purchased one of Julius’ K9 harnesses for my 4KG Chihuahua. My reasons for purchasing the harness were because of the safety and comfort guarantee promise and at £35 a pop, one would believe they were getting a quality product. However, a few weeks ago, my dog managed to slip his harness twice in the same day, he was almost knocked down by a car, running around a public road very scared!! I was obviously frantic because he is never allowed to roam free unleashed. Thankfully, a motorist who witnessed the incident was able to block off the road and my dog returned to me.
I find there to be a serious and dangerous design fault with the Julius K9 harnesses. If the dog stalls or backs up to resists any forward movement, the harness slips over his head with ease. Therefore, releasing the dog from the safety of his harness.
Dog owners must be made aware of this before a dog is killed due to his harness failing. The harness needs urgent modification - specifically a figure of 8 strap under the belly or a collared addition. Julius K9 offered nothing to me in the way of redress and refund. Instead asking for pictures to ascertain if I had fitted the harness correctly!! Of course the harness was fitted correctly, two simple straps with CLEAR instructions from the manufacturer! Furthermore, the managing director clearly doesn’t engage with customers.
Please be aware before purchasing.
You see the Julius-K9 harness worn by dogs everywhere you go. So I did not expect it to be such a disappointment. My small poodle has backed out of it twice now, it seems if the dog gets behind you it is very easy for them to slip out of the harness. The harness my dog wears is fitted correctly, so this is just a massive and life endangering design fault.
After googling it, I discovered that I am not alone, many dog owners have commented that their dogs too back out of this harness.
I have not approached Julius-K9, as their customer care is such that even though they are aware of this problem they have chosen not to address it, they continue to produce & sell harness that could result in your dog losing it's life.
I will be making every dog owner I meet aware of how dangerous this harness actually is.
