DON’T BOTHER WASTING YOUR TIME.
DON’T BOTHER WASTING YOUR TIME.
Completely all forms and everything necessary in January. Was promised that our case will be allocated and the process to begin by Daniel.
Justice for Tennants throughout the course of 6 months didn’t bother emailing once, I had to initiate the emails asking about an update.
Then just last week they’ve told us they cannot proceed with our case after promising that there is a 90% chance that they win their cases.
Completely waste of time, don’t give tennants false hope if you’re just going to let us down and waste our time.
good thks Adam
good thks Adam
but they seems to have little capacity to reply to everyone !
There are too many rogue agencies and rogue landlords using agencies to hide their real name as limited company etc............
Council is slow as well - against rogue landlord renting out without HMO license!
Excellent and experienced organisation!
Matthew from Justice for Tenants gave us such great advice for completing our RRO. Couldn't have done it without his input! Very professional and experienced. Highly recommend.

They helped me get my deposit back from a rogue Landlord without going through litigation. Very happy with the support I got.
Excellent at advice - thank you Adam
Informative and really reassuring that landlords dealing with me were unacceptable. They were really caring and gave me the advice that I needed. Thank you Adam for making me feel heard and that my needs / concerns were taken seriously.
Important work
JFT is doing really important work - there are few other organisations that can help tenants take action against landlords who have acted illegally. I was considering applying for an RRO, and was advised separately not to do this without representation, and that JFT's fees were fair. I found their advice helpful and the process to be much more straightforward and hassle free than trying to do it myself. In the end we were awarded an out of court settlement.
I understand JFT have been somewhat overwhelmed by the workload in the past year or so with the housing and cost of living crisis and increase in evictions, and that they have been trying to expand their capacity. They were not always quick to respond to us as our case progressed, but in the end we achieved a good result.
So far so bad
I will update with progress.
I approached JFT in October/November for a RRO and provided them all the documents requested promptly. They were super communicative (almost too much) regarding having my previous housemates sign up. However since then no actual work has begun, I’m not informed of delays and it’s 1-2 weeks for a response.
I’m a housing practitioner and was thinking of doing this myself but as my firm doesn’t do this work I was interested to see if JFT were any good for when people ask me … so far I can’t recommend anyone use them.
Hopefully they actually do some work soon and I can amend this review. But considering the steep fees they deduct from compensation so far it doesn’t seem worth it.
Useful, Clear and Comprehensive Advice
My tenancy issue was looked into by Matthew. He provided very useful information and advice. He took the time to go through the tenancy agreement and deposit document then provided comprehensive insight. I’m surprised that you can get such good service for free. Thank you very much Matthew and Justice For Tenants!
Possibly no longer operating?
Unfortunately, based on other reviews and my experience, what seemed to be once a good service is no longer running.
JFT started being very helpful when I approached them in June. I finally thought we were going to get some support in a very stressful situation with our letting agents and landlord.
JFT confirmed we were eligible for an RRO and someone from the RRO team will reach out.
That was July 29th, 7 weeks ago. I have followed up with them 3 times on separate threads as they suggest but have not heard anything from them since.
I'm quite disappointed really.
Unresponsive to emails and unhelpful overall
Reached out to Justice for tenants for assistance on a matter.
Filled out their questionnaire and sent necessary information requested.
This was nearly 2months ago.
I have continued to chase for an update and have sent multiple emails with no response at all.
In the end I gave up on Justice For Tenants as I was not receiving any replies to my emails.
This is also mentioned in a lot of the negative reviews.
I have been fortunate to find another organisation that have been more helpful in a much shorter length of time.
From my own personal experience, I wouldn’t recommend J4T and perhaps seek help elsewhere.
No answer whatsoever. The positive reviews must be fake because they have no acknowledged my phone calls nor email nor my application form
Unlucky I am starting to think that all these positive reviews are fake..
I've emailed them and filled up the application form on their page. I've called them every day at 9am and 9.30am (the time they claim their office is open)
I've received NO answer whatsoever, their automatic inbox keep saying that no advisor is available.
My landlord did not secure my deposit in a deposit scheme. I just want to know whether my case has standing and if it does whether they could refer me to a solicitor to help me bring a claim against my landlord(which is the service they claim can provide). If I don't have a claim or if they can't provide legal representation it' fine, at least I know where I stand. I'm disappointed to have not even have received a response..
If anyone is in my same situation or feel they don't know where to start to understand their situation, I'd recommend to call the citizen advice bureau or the Shelter. They won't assign you a solicitor but they will answer the phone at least and give you you breakout of your situation and the legal ramifications attached to it.

Really helpful service
Really helpful service with good links to useful resources as how to go about claiming against our landlord
Clear, helpful advice
I got in touch with Justice For Tenants as the landlord of my previous flat had committed various deposit violations. Justice For Tenants were very helpful and responded to my emails in a timely manner with clear explanations. I have recommended them to several friends who have experienced similar issues with landlords. Please keep up the good work!
HIGHLY recommend!!!
The team were hugely helpful, and have saved me a lot of money on exiting our tenancy due to their knowledge of the law and the Tenant Act of 2019. Extremely quick replies and super helpful! Highly recommend. Thanks again!
Justice for tenants did help us when we…
Justice for tenants did help us when we found out the landlord didn't have a licence to rent out the property. The only thing we had to do was give them our evidence and they did the rest for us. Thanks to them we won, and the amount of the rent repayment order was even more than we expected. The whole team have been so helpful and a big thanks to Clara. We couldn't have done it ourselfs, glad this service exists!
Very grateful for this service
They were extremely helpful when I needed clarification around my rights as a tenant. I am so grateful a service like this exists!
Thanks again :)
Justice for tenants is an invaluable resource!
Justice for tenants gave me a little bit of faith in humanity back. Their help was essential and they are extremely knowledgeable. I will be forever grateful to Alasdair, his support during the application until the hearing.
Be patient and you will get excellent advice.
I am really grateful to the advice from Justice For Tenants, which resulted in my former landlord returning all my deposit (after she had made spurious claims that I had damaged it / not cleaned it). It takes a while for JFT to respond to emails, but if you are patient they will come back to you with excellent advice.
Helpful Team, Clear Guidance, Fierce Advocacy!
The JFT team was amazing! They were helpful, responsive, and gave us clear guidance that made a very complicated process a lot easier to navigate! Also, our JFT lawyer was fierce in court!
My housemates and I had been living in an unlicensed HMO and we had a lot of issues with our landlady throughout the year we were there... With JFT's help, we took the matter to court and we were awarded about 80% of a year's rent back! I can honestly say that we could never have done that without JFT's work and their tireless advocacy for tenants' rights!
